His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1553: Chapter 435: Escape Earns a House (Part 3)

Is Feng Fanghua suggesting that Mu Yichen has already called?

Well, it makes sense! At this hour, they haven’t returned yet, Mu would definitely call!

Qin Mu sighed helplessly, slowly shaking her head.

Mu Yichen leaned against the doorway, watching her bewildered look, with warmth in his eyes.

After putting down her phone, Qin Mu unconsciously glanced toward the door and saw Mu Yichen standing there, seemingly watching her all along, so her gaze happened to meet his eyes without realizing it.

”Come downstairs and cook with me!”

Mu Yichen said in a low voice before turning around and leaving.

Qin Mu snapped back to reality, then lowered her eyes and walked out.

So he wants her to cook with him?

Mu never usually lets her meddle in the kitchen.

Back then, Feng Fanghua wanted her to try her hand in the kitchen, but after Mu Yichen spoke to her alone, no one forced Qin Mu to step into the kitchen anymore.

Now...

After witnessing the spectacle Mrs. Mu created in the kitchen, no one wanted her to mess with even a small item in there.

When Qin Mu followed him downstairs and entered the kitchen, Mu Yichen was washing vegetables with his head down. Qin Mu walked over and stood beside him, focusing intently on the vegetables he was washing: ”Let me wash?”

”You chop the carrots! Dice them!”

Qin Mu glanced at the cutting board, agreed, and moved to his other side to roll up her sleeves and help dice the carrots.

Mu Yichen slightly lifted his gaze, watching her treat the carrot as if she was carving it, and then discreetly continued with his own tasks.

Of course, it wasn’t really about having Mrs. Mu do chores.

It’s just been so long since they’ve spent time alone like this, and Mu occasionally longs for such a life.

After dicing the carrots, Qin carefully examined each piece, cutting down the slightly larger ones. Mu Yichen, seeing her so focused, couldn’t help but chuckle.

”Nicely diced!”

”Hehe!”

Receiving Mu’s praise, Qin Mu couldn’t help but feel delighted.

Mu Yichen looked at her with a doting gaze, then placed a pot on the stove: ”Let’s make mushroom soup, do you like it?”

”I love it!”

Qin Mu agreed, watching him cook, not moving from his side.

It’s been a while since they’ve been together like this, the small space felt incredibly warm.

Qin Mu hugged him from behind, resting against his solid back, quietly enjoying the happiness of leaning on him.

Mu Yichen said nothing, as though these moments were what he yearned for.

The house felt so calm, as if no one was there.

Later, during dinner, Qin Mu proactively served Mu Yichen some soup. Mu Yichen accepted it, glanced up at her, and smiled slightly: ”You’ve been so good today!”

”As long as Mu likes it!”

Qin Mu said softly.

It wasn’t just like, he was utterly in love.

Mu Yichen’s deep eyes glanced at her, smiling gently, then lowered his gaze to eat.

Qin Mu watched him with diamond-like eyes, thinking he must be defeated by her.

After dinner, Qin Mu stood in front of the living room’s glass doors, drinking tea. Outside, the night sky began to sparkle again, silently bringing snow.

The wind gradually became stronger, and the snow seemed like a blizzard.

Qin Mu couldn’t help but wonder, was someone wronged?

But when Mu Yichen came to her side, she no longer entertained such thoughts and simply looked up at him: ”Just talking to Mom?”

”No! Mu Chenghuan!”

Mu Yichen responded softly; he didn’t go back yesterday, and again today, he missed his daughter a bit.

His tone was casual, but she listened in shock, couldn’t help but look at him skeptically. Mu Yichen half-closed his eyes at her: ”What? Is there a problem with me calling my daughter?”

”Of course, there’s no problem with you calling your daughter!”

Qin Mu held back laughter while speaking to him, then continued gazing outside.

Mu Yichen let out a laugh; he hadn’t thought much at the time, just believed his daughter might miss him, so he called. And indeed, his daughter said she misses him, making him feel a bit guilty—if not for the sudden snow, he’d have driven back.

He seemed to understand why Mrs. Mu left him alone and went home last night.

After having children, they seemed to change somewhat.

He instinctively wrapped an arm around her shoulder, hoping their changes wouldn’t be too significant.

”By the way, what was with drinking so much last night? Zhao Huai and Xiaomei just got their marriage certificate, then got drunk and went home.”
