His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1530: Chapter 429: Stubborn Appearance (Part 3)

”I’m in Paris!”

Qin Mu listened to his explanation and didn’t ask further, just told him softly.

”Really?”

Jian Yan stood up, then slowly walked to the window with his head down: ”Spending Christmas in Paris? With Mu Yichen, or did Little Huanhuan come too?”

”Not just Huanhuan, Chengcheng came too, the elders didn’t come. How about having lunch at your place?”

”Okay! I’ll get ready!”

Jian Yan ended the call in his deep voice. Afterward, he looked at the phone in his hand, considered calling Xiao Wei, but then put the phone back into his pants pocket.

He actually thought that this family might not let him know they came over this time. Last night he saw them by chance, but they didn’t see him.

Jian Yan felt a bit complicated, but he turned around and focused on just one thing again.

He had to make a delicious meal for his little apprentice.

Qin Mu and Mu Yichen first took the children home, then went to Jian Yan’s place after bringing the prepared gifts. By then, Jian Yan had already prepared almost all the dishes in the kitchen.

Hearing the doorbell ring, he put down the tools in his hand and walked out calmly.

The family of four stood quietly waiting at the door. When Jian Yan opened the door, he looked down at the little one.

”JY!”

Huanhuan immediately lit up with excitement when she saw Jian Yan, and he picked her up right away, without even glancing at the couple.

”Our Little Huanhuan has grown so big, JY almost can’t lift her anymore!”

After greeting Huanhuan, Jian Yan turned around and said, ”Come in!”

Qin Mu couldn’t quite explain the feeling of loss in her heart, always feeling that Jian Yan was deliberately avoiding them as a couple.

Mu Yichen didn’t think anything of it; in fact, he liked Jian Yan’s indifferent attitude very much.

Inside, Qin Mu immediately smelled the fragrance she loved: ”Is Xiao Wei cooking?”

”She’s not here! I cooked for you myself, make sure to eat more!”

Jian Yan said as he put down Huanhuan, patted her little head, and went back to cooking in the kitchen.

Qin Mu felt the urge to follow him, but Mu Yichen gently held her wrist, suggesting with his eyes for her to stay outside, then he went in himself.

”I thought you wouldn’t let her see me!”

Jian Yan said as he cooked, then pulled out a cigarette from his pocket.

”I didn’t want to! Don’t smoke!”

Mu Yichen lifted his gaze and said to him with a plain voice.

Jian Yan looked at him: ”Are you pitying me?”

”If that’s what makes you feel better, go ahead and think that! I just know Qin Mu sees you as her mentor!”

”Is that so?”

”Of course! In her heart, a mentor is like a father!”

Jian Yan choked on his cigarette after just two puffs because of Mu Yichen’s words.

Qin Mu always called him mentor, saying things like ’once a teacher, always like a father’, which was fine. His little apprentice could say whatever she wanted, but when her man said it too, wasn’t that against him?

Mu Yichen sighed lightly: ”I’ll cook a dish! Didn’t you miss Huanhuan? Why not go accompany her!”

Jian Yan...

Mu Yichen had already taken his place, and though Jian Yan looked at him with confusion, he eventually went out.

Qin Mu kept watching him after he came out, until he sat down across from her.

”Huanhuan, come to my side!”

Jian Yan called as he sat down, having extinguished the cigarette on his way over.

”JY! You’ve lost weight!”

Huanhuan said after going to his side, looking at him for a few seconds.

Chengcheng raised his eyes, thinking, how come I didn’t notice?

Qin Mu stayed silent, just quietly watching him; he really had lost a lot of weight.

Xiao Wei...

Isn’t she with him?

Last time, Mu Yichen mentioned wanting Xiao Wei to have his child, but didn’t they take any action?

”Where’s Xiao Wei? Aren’t you together?”

”Mm! She went home!”

Jian Yan replied lightly, though in fact, Xiao Wei had already been away from him for a while, and he didn’t know why; she suddenly stopped clinging to him.

Qin Mu nodded woodenly, unable to help but glance at him a few more times. Jian Yan finally raised his eyes to look at her, smiling lightly as he asked, ”Why are you looking at your mentor like that, thinking your mentor’s days are numbered?”

”Don’t say that!”

Qin Mu immediately, nervously reminded him.

”What does ’days are numbered’ mean?”

Huanhuan asked curiously, and Chengcheng, lying by the coffee table, also looked up curiously, waiting for an answer.

Jian Yan looked down at Huanhuan, not explaining, just smiling gently at her.
