His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1525: Chapter 428: Unforgettable Christmas (Part 1)

Qin Mu opened the door, and the two little ones rushed inside eagerly, as if it was too cold outside.

Qin Mu stood by the door, waiting for the driver to leave, as Mu Yichen dragged his suitcase towards her.

Qin Mu looked over his shoulder into the distance, at the basketball court where he’d once played basketball because of her, but now it was overgrown with weeds.

A basketball court would have been better.

At least one could play basketball when bored; now, in its current state, she didn’t even want to walk over there! Sigh!

Mu Yichen walked over, lowered his gaze to her: ”Thinking about your basketball court again?”

Qin Mu looked up and couldn’t help but laugh; he understood everything, and Qin Mu felt as if she was utterly bare in front of him.

”Let’s go inside first!”

Mu Yichen put his free hand on her shoulder and walked inside with her, pulling the suitcase along.

”Honestly, I really miss that basketball court!”

”Have you forgotten how much it hurt you?”

”If every place where one got hurt had to be erased, that would be difficult, wouldn’t it? Aren’t we supposed to get back up where we fell?”

Qin Mu looked up at him, asking him softly.

Mu Yichen glanced at her with his dark eyes, placed the suitcase aside, then turned around, holding her shoulders with both hands: ”Since you like it, we can just have someone design a better one. If any place has hurt your heart, and even if it’s difficult to smooth over, as your man, I must face it head-on.”

His voice was so soft, so deep, yet incredibly magnetic, making Qin Mu’s heart feel a bit tender and sweet.

”Dad, brother is hungry!”

The little one started eating as soon as they got in the car, and now he says he’s hungry?

Mu Yichen’s gaze shifted from Qin Mu’s face to the sofa inside; Chengcheng was sitting quietly with his head down, fiddling with some toy, while Huanhuan leaned over the back of the sofa, speaking to Mu Yichen.

”I’m not hungry! It’s sister who’s hungry!”

But Chengcheng heard his sister clearly and mumbled as he fiddled with his toy.

Mu Yichen sighed lightly: ”Mu Chenghuan seems to be a bit mischievous!”

”She’s always been mischievous!”

Qin Mu said as she saw Mu Chenghuan displeased with her brother.

Mu Yichen chuckled softly: ”A bit like you when you were little!”

Qin Mu’s heart fluttered, she looked up at him and fell into his warm gaze, which was ready to catch hers.

Wasn’t she adorable, thoughtful, and gentle when she was little?

How could she suddenly be described as mischievous?

”Actually, Huanhuan resembles you more. She’s willful and loves bullying her brother, just like you used to bully me.”

”Alright, make you happy now, and let me enjoy later!”

Mu Yichen sighed lightly and then went to the kitchen first.

Fortunately, before coming, he’d had the fridge filled up, and the house was already clean. So later, as Mu Yichen prepared dinner for the four of them in the kitchen, Qin Mu, feeling bored, turned on the TV, while the two little ones busied themselves.

Everyone ate well at dinner, but after eating, Chengcheng and Huanhuan were sleepy, so Qin Mu and Mu Yichen each carried one to their rooms to sleep.

It’s been a long time since they’d been back, but it still felt like home.

Qin Mu looked at Huanhuan’s room and thought of the days when they stayed here with their elders, when he came...

Suddenly, her heart ached, and she couldn’t help but blame herself—why think of such sad things?

After the children fell asleep, Mu Yichen and Qin Mu unfolded the Christmas tree that had been stored by the door—a giant Christmas tree. Qin Mu, even in heels, had to stand on tiptoes to hang things high up.

When Mu Yichen was about to place the star at the top, Qin Mu suddenly grabbed his arm: ”Let me do it!”

”You do it? Are you sure?”

Mu Yichen looked at her height, a bit concerned.

”I’m sure! You just have to lift me!”

Qin Mu said with a silly grin, trying to please him.

Mu Yichen sighed lightly, got into position, and extended a hand for her to jump onto.

Qin Mu jumped onto him with the star in hand, being lifted high.

Such intimate gestures, seemingly just lifting, in truth, easily stirred subtle romantic feelings.

The night was deep, and the starry sky above sparkled like little kids winking.

Mu Yichen felt something warm in his heart, as if it had already bubbled up, simmering and steaming.
