His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1517: Chapter 426: The Sofa Is a Bit Hard

Mu Yichen responded.

”Isn’t it a bit much to keep Xi Meng late at work while coming to your in-law’s house yourself?”

Qin Mu asked softly, her eyes full of a hundred percent love as she looked at him.

”Xi Meng loves money like her life, and there’s overtime pay for working late.”

Mu Yichen squinted at Qin Mu for a while before finally coming up with this excuse.

Auntie soon prepared a sumptuous dinner, and the three of them ate together. After dinner, Mu Yichen took Qin Mu back, and on the way, she leaned sleepily on his shoulder.

The evening breeze blew gently, feeling as cold as if it were about to snow.

Christmas is in a couple of days. I wonder if it will snow this Christmas.

”Do those two little ones miss me?”

Qin Mu suddenly thought that if it snowed, the two little ones at home would definitely be happy. She suddenly realized they hadn’t seen each other all day and wondered if those two little ones missed her, especially Chengcheng.

Mu Yichen was seriously driving when he remembered hearing what his daughter said in the room that morning and her worried look for him.

”You can go back and ask them.”

Mu Yichen thought it best not to tell her that those two little ones didn’t miss her at all; instead, they played wildly since she wasn’t around.

And the one who missed her desperately wasn’t even asked about.

Mu Yichen sighed sadly and then chuckled bitterly.

It seems his whole life is held in Mrs. Mu’s hands, yet, Mrs. Mu said...

She once said he was her number one.

But now, Mu Yichen very much doubts his wife’s statement about being number one.

When they got home, the two little ones had already taken their baths and were ready for bed. Qin Mu first went to Chengcheng’s room, where the little one instantly covered himself with a blanket and shouted: Ah!

”Mu Chengyang, you’re being a bit dramatic!”

Qin Mu gently reminded her son, releasing the doorframe, tucking her hair behind her ear, and walking over to stand by the bed. She looked down softly at the little one who was afraid of being seen by her, then glanced at the man standing at the doorway with his hands in his pockets leaning against the wall: ”Were you like this when you were little?”

”Forgot!”

Mu Yichen chuckled lightly, his strong physique now concealed by his suit seemed never small.

Qin Mu smiled, then looked back at her son and gently patted Chengcheng’s little head: ”Want to sleep with mommy?”

Chengcheng instinctively looked at Mu Yichen and then shook his head vigorously.

Qin Mu...

”Not seeing me for a night, don’t you miss me at all?”

Qin Mu asked her son somewhat dejectedly, then turned to look at Mu Yichen, conveying with her eyes how genuinely saddened she was.

Mu Yichen said nothing, just glanced at his son, thinking, at least this little guy is sensible.

Qin Mu, determinedly, hugged Chengcheng and kissed his forehead hard. Chengcheng looked at the lipstick on Qin Mu’s lips and then furiously wiped his forehead.

Qin Mu instinctively touched her lips, thinking this lipstick wouldn’t fade, yet the little guy was so disdainful, it broke her heart.

Luckily, her daughter was enthusiastic; as soon as Qin Mu went over, Huanhuan hugged her affectionately on the bed.

”Mommy, Huanhuan wants to tell you something.”

Huanhuan whispered in Qin Mu’s ear, instinctively glancing at the man silently watching them.

”Hmm? What’s the matter?”

Qin Mu looked down at her daughter, then leaned her ear closer to her daughter’s lips.

Before she could hear clearly, she felt a bit overwhelmed by Huanhuan’s breathing, so Qin Mu moved slightly away. Huanhuan looked at her like she hadn’t understood, and replied again, then bit her lip and glanced at her father.

Once Qin Mu understood what her daughter meant, she glanced at Mu Yichen again, only lightly smiling.

”You two go to sleep, I’m going to rest too!”

Huanhuan suddenly pulled up the covers and lay down, ready to sleep.

Qin Mu stood up from the bedside, walked up to Mu Yichen, and whispered, ”Let’s go back.”

”Okay!”

Mu Yichen agreed, taking another look at his daughter before leaving, guessing she mentioned the morning incident.

For some reason, when Qin Mu wasn’t around, he was particularly inclined to stay with Huanhuan and rather disdainful of Chengcheng.

After returning to the room, Qin Mu closed the door, her hands against the cold hard door, watching the back of the man ahead. Mu Yichen felt her presence lingering by the door and turned his head, his dark eyes meeting her eyes, gentle like water.
