His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1509: Chapter 424: Twenty-Four-Hour Surveillance (Part 2)

Qin Mu also knew that coming this time, she definitely had to take on this role.

The girl she once hated the most, now, could actually make her willing to give so much; Qin Mu felt a myriad of emotions inside.

”How’s your dad’s health? He must be very busy, right?”

Mrs. Wang brought up the topic again.

”His health is quite good, though he is a bit busy, but he manages it well!”

Qin Mu answered.

”People like them, if they don’t know self-regulation, they really get depressed; like Mingzhu’s father-in-law, he’s been incredibly bad-tempered lately.”

Mrs. Wang continued, not forgetting to tell Qin Mu, ”Have some tea!”

As Qin Mu picked up the tea to taste it, she couldn’t help but glance at Qin Mingzhu, noticing she seemed quite unhappy, perhaps due to her mother-in-law talking all the time.

When her mother-in-law finally left for something, Qin Mingzhu dragged Qin Mu to her room. As Qin Mu stood by the window looking at the expansive courtyard below, she thought this Wang Family was indeed somewhat stern.

But with Qin Mingzhu’s addition, it probably improved a lot.

Qin Mu inevitably glanced again at the girl sitting on the bed. Qin Mingzhu started to complain, ”Don’t you find my mother-in-law very chatty? She hardly talks normally; she’s doing it just for show.”

Qin Mu...

”And she doesn’t care that much about dad at all! Her husband being grumpy is true though.”

Qin Mingzhu complained, her hands resting on the edge of the bed, feet dangling below, a little habit she always liked.

Qin Mu listened quietly. Qin Mingzhu had long expressed her dislike for being around her in-laws, so Qin Mu didn’t find her words odd.

”But, why did you suddenly decide to visit me? Were you missing me a lot?”

Qin Mingzhu suddenly sparkled with her eyes, jumping up to Qin Mu’s side, holding her hand and giving her a knowing look.

”Didn’t you ask me to come see you?”

Qin Mu had to ask her, exposing her act.

Qin Mingzhu...

”Hey! Give me some face! Since you’re here, at least let me be happy.”

Qin Mingzhu pouted playfully, swaying her body.

”Alright, alright, I came especially to see you, not because you asked me.”

Qin Mu could only answer her the way she wanted.

Qin Mingzhu happily held her face and gave her a big kiss, and then Qin Mu’s phone rang from her pocket. Qin Mu took out the phone, saw it was Mu Yichen, and immediately answered, blaming herself for not calling him when she arrived.

”Hello? Mm, I’m here!”

Qin Mu spoke quietly to Mu Yichen, Qin Mingzhu bit her lip beside her, not wanting to make noise and disturb them, though she looked eager to interrupt.

”I heard the young lady of the Mu Family arrived?”

Qin Mu was on the phone when someone pushed open Qin Mingzhu’s door from outside, and both women reflexively looked out, seeing a casually dressed man walk in.

Yet Wang Mingyu fell silent seeing Qin Mu on the call, waiting for her to finish.

”Is that Wang Mingyu?”

Qin Mu heard this low voice of doubt from the earpiece.

”Yes! I’ll call you later? I’m in Mingzhu’s room!”

Qin Mu told Mu Yichen quietly.

”Yup! Brother-in-law, I am here with her!”

Qin Mingzhu quickly shouted in Qin Mu’s ear.

Qin Mu glanced helplessly at her, then ended the call, smiling at Wang Mingyu, ”Long time no see!”

”Mingzhu said a few days ago you’d be coming, didn’t expect you actually did, long time no see!”

Wang Mingyu’s eyes sparkled, though he pretended to speak nonchalantly.

”Mm!”

Qin Mu looked at Qin Mingzhu, without looking at Wang Mingyu again.

”You usually don’t come back, but you return when you hear my sister’s here. Are you still thinking about my sister?”

Qin Mingzhu asked Wang Mingyu, hugging Qin Mu’s arm.

”So what if I am? Your sister has her heart set, I can only stand by and watch.”

Wang Mingyu chuckled lightly, leaning against the door frame and chatting with them, seeing Qin Mu not saying much, knowing she wanted to maintain a distance, he said, ”I’ll go check downstairs, see you at dinner!”

Qin Mu just smiled, watching him leave, Qin Mingzhu closed the door and turned back, looking at Qin Mu with suggestive eyes.

”Don’t overthink, and definitely don’t say anything, okay?”

Qin Mu knew what she was thinking and immediately stopped her.

”Hehe! I didn’t say anything yet!”

Qin Mingzhu smiled mischievously right away.

”You better not say anything, or I won’t come to see you again!”
