Chapter 237: Chapter 237: Never Forgotten

The Wind Forest Sect Disciples from the two factions were at each other’s throats, and Lin Yun watched coldly from the side. He didn’t have a shred of goodwill for the Wind Forest Sect. In fact, he had sworn to himself that as soon as he had the power, he would personally destroy it.

The massacre of the small mountain village by the Wind Forest Sect was still seared into his memory. He also remembered the oath he had sworn over the villagers’ graves: one day, he would make the Wind Forest Sect pay the price.

Just as the two factions were about to come to blows, the disciples from the Third Elder’s faction backed down. The power gap between them was enormous, and the Third Elder’s people knew they were no match for the Grand Elder’s faction.

”Hmph. You’re smart to back down. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have shown any mercy, even to fellow sect members,” the young man leading the Grand Elder’s faction sneered.

At the Qi Sea Realm Eighth Layer, his Cultivation was the highest of anyone present. His gaze toward the Third Elder’s faction was filled with utter contempt.

The disciples from the Third Elder’s faction felt disgraced by the public humiliation, but they didn’t dare make a single move. In the face of such a vast power gap, survival was the most important thing.

They turned to leave, swaggering arrogantly. As they passed Lin Yun and his companions, the leader at the Qi Sea Realm Eighth Layer barked at him, ”Get out of the way! What kind of idiot dares to block my path?”

He was unbelievably arrogant, but he had clearly picked the wrong person to provoke. In Yanhuang Country, Lin Yun had many reservations, but here in Nan Feng Kingdom, he was like a raging dragon freed from its chains.

As long as no experts from the Primordial Ocean Realm showed up, Lin Yun feared no one.

’Fine. I’ll start by collecting some interest from you.’ A cold smile touched Lin Yun’s lips. Not only did he show no sign of moving, but a dense killing intent began to radiate from him.

’Is this guy insane? He’s actually thinking of killing someone from the Grand Elder’s faction?’ The disciples from the Third Elder’s faction stared at Lin Yun, their eyes wide with disbelief.

In the Nan Feng Kingdom, the Wind Forest Sect was the supreme authority—that was an undeniable fact. And within the Wind Forest Sect, the Grand Elder’s faction was the most powerful. It was unthinkable that someone in Chiyang Pass would dare to try and kill its members.

The others were shocked, but to Lin Yun, their faction was irrelevant. As long as they were from the Wind Forest Sect, they were his enemies.

”Brat, are you looking for death?” the leader of the Grand Elder’s faction said coldly, sensing Lin Yun’s killing intent. The Elemental Power of his Qi Sea Realm Eighth Layer cultivation began to stir.

But in the next second, the unthinkable happened. The disciple at the Qi Sea Realm Eighth Layer didn’t even have time to react before Lin Yun’s fist connected, and his head exploded.

The headless corpse collapsed with a thud. No one could have imagined that Lin Yun, at the mere Third Layer of Qi Sea Realm, could instantly kill a Wind Forest Sect disciple at the Qi Sea Realm Eighth Layer.

But that wasn’t the main point. The main point was that Lin Yun had just publicly killed a member of the Grand Elder’s faction. This was an open challenge to the entire Wind Forest Sect.

”You... You actually dared to kill a Disciple of the Wind Forest Sect?” the seven or eight other disciples from the Grand Elder’s faction exclaimed in shock.

”Too weak. Utterly useless,” Lin Yun said, his eyes calm, not bothering to answer them.

Then, Lin Yun looked up at the remaining seven or eight men, all of whom wore the uniform of Wind Forest Sect disciples.

’I don’t know which one of them massacred my village,’ Lin Yun thought, ’but it doesn’t matter. Destroying the entire Wind Forest Sect will be enough. I can’t be bothered to investigate who was responsible. They’re all from the same sect, after all.’

”You can all go join him,” he said indifferently. With a blur of motion, Lin Yun moved, leaving a trail of afterimages in his wake. None of the Wind Forest Sect disciples present could follow his speed.

’Afterimages... Could he be one of the geniuses from the Wind Forest List?’ a disciple from the Third Elder’s faction exclaimed in awe.

Amidst a flurry of afterimages, Lin Yun returned to his original position. The seven or eight Wind Forest Sect disciples who had been alive just moments before exploded one after another, each becoming a headless corpse.

’Dead? All of them are dead?’ Even now, the members of the Third Elder’s faction couldn’t believe their eyes. They never imagined this unassuming young man would actually dare to slaughter Wind Forest Sect disciples in public, leaving none alive.

After killing everyone from the Grand Elder’s faction, Lin Yun turned his gaze to the five remaining disciples from the Third Elder’s faction. He couldn’t care less about the Wind Forest Sect’s internal strife.

When Lin Yun’s gaze fell upon them, their leader—also at the Qi Sea Realm Eighth Layer—broke out in a cold sweat. ”What are you doing?” he asked nervously. ”Don’t you realize you’ve sealed your fate? The Wind Forest Sect will hunt you down!”

”Too noisy,” Lin Yun whispered. His figure blurred. Just like before, by the time he returned to his original spot, only one disciple from the Third Elder’s faction remained alive. Lin Yun had killed all the others.

”Young Master Lin, have you gone mad? Are you trying to take on the entire Wind Forest Sect?” The Monk and Daoist didn’t know what had gotten into him. Since arriving in the Nan Feng Kingdom, he had become a completely different person.

If Lin Yun had been a dormant dragon in Yanhuang Country, then in the Nan Feng Kingdom, he had cast off all his shackles and become utterly without restraint.

In a matter of moments, he had killed more than a dozen Wind Forest Sect disciples. Only one remained alive, and that was, of course, by Lin Yun’s design.

Word of the massacre quickly reached the soldiers of Chiyang Pass. Before long, several hundred of them had surrounded Lin Yun’s group.

”Young Master Lin, what on earth are you doing? Do you really plan to just butcher your way to the Mysterious Forest?” the Monk asked with a wry smile, eyeing the soldiers that now surrounded them.

”That’s not a bad idea,” Lin Yun replied with a smile, much to their surprise. He didn’t seem the least bit concerned about his predicament.

”I’ll give you three breaths,” he announced indifferently to the soldiers. ”I am only here to kill members of the Wind Forest Sect. Anyone not involved should step aside. Otherwise, don’t blame me for what happens next.”

Hearing this, one of the commanders shouted, ”Who is this insolent peasant? Daring to kill Wind Forest Sect disciples? Are you tired of living?”

This commander’s Cultivation was at the Ninth Layer of Qi Sea Realm. He had once been a Disciple of the Wind Forest Sect, but having grown too old with no hope of breaking through to the Primordial Ocean Realm, the sect had assigned him to the army of the Nan Feng Kingdom.

”In that case, don’t blame me,” Lin Yun said softly, and took the initiative, lunging toward the commander.

But how could an ordinary cultivator at the Ninth Layer of Qi Sea be a match for Lin Yun? He couldn’t even see Lin Yun’s movements clearly before he found himself seized by the throat and lifted off the ground.

His feet dangled above the ground, his throat caught in Lin Yun’s iron grip. Lin Yun held him as easily as one might hold a rabbit. With the slightest twitch of his fingers, he could sever the commander’s head from his body.

Lin Yun was no homicidal maniac; he had no desire to harm anyone unaffiliated with the Wind Forest Sect. After neutralizing the commander in a single move, his gaze swept across the other soldiers.
