Divine Emperor Demon Emperor

Chapter 205: Chapter 205: Bearing of a Demon Fiend

Hearing this person’s warning, Lin Yun’s expression didn’t change in the slightest. He tilted his head to look at the Fifth Prince, a hint of icy coldness in his eyes.

Seeing Lin Yun look his way, the Fifth Prince was not the least bit afraid. The two locked gazes, and the Fifth Prince even made a throat-slitting gesture.

It would be a lie to say Lin Yun wasn’t furious with the Fifth Prince. The Prince wanted him dead just because he suspected something was going on between him and Chen Xin. This was the kind of person who saw himself as high and mighty, never placing any value on the lives of others.

Since they were now enemies, Lin Yun had nothing to fear. ’You want to kill me? Bring it on. If I get the chance, I won’t show any mercy, even if you are the son of His Holiness.’ 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

After their brief staredown, the third challenger took the stage. Without any needless talk, the man attacked the moment he arrived.

Seeing this, Lin Yun didn’t panic. He met the attack with his Bone Spear, unleashing his Red Flame Spear Technique. The two battled for several dozen exchanges before Lin Yun finally defeated him.

He had defeated three opponents, and it looked like he still had strength to spare. This suddenly reinvigorated the wealthy scions who had previously been certain of his death.

An evenly matched fight was exactly what these wealthy scions wanted to see. It would have been a disappointment if Lin Yun had been defeated right from the start.

The battles continued one after another, giving Lin Yun almost no time to catch his breath. Even though his Elemental Power was ten times that of other Martial Artists at the same Realm, he had already used up more than half of it.

After defeating another challenger with a single thrust of his spear, the wealthy scions in the stands had now completely become his supporters, shouting excitedly.

”Lin Shan, go! Take a spot among the top ten geniuses on the Yanhuang List! We’re betting on you!”

”Lin Shan...!”

All sorts of cheers came from the stands. However, in the Royal Family’s exclusive viewing box, the Fifth Prince’s expression was terrifyingly grim. Lin Yun had already won seven consecutive matches. Despite all the preparations the Fifth Prince had made, he was starting to lose his confidence.

Noticing the Fifth Prince’s terrible mood, Kang Lai chuckled from the side. ”Your Highness, the Fifth Prince, there’s no need to worry. These last three matches are the real Hell. Those three are completely different from the first seven. The world may not understand, but we know that they are the ones who are truly close to the top ten geniuses of the Yanhuang List. The other seven were just cannon fodder.”

Hearing Kang Lai’s words, the Fifth Prince’s expression finally relaxed. That was right. The last three men were his true trump cards. And since they had already received their payment, the Fifth Prince wasn’t worried they would take his money and not do the job.

A cold smile returned to his face. Just then, Qing Zhu, who had been silent all this time, spoke to the Fifth Prince. ”Fifth Prince, how about I make a bet with you?”

”Oh? Since Miss Qing Zhu is so inclined, I would be honored to oblige.”

”Hehe, you flatter me, Fifth Prince. I’m quite optimistic about Lin Shan. Why don’t we bet on him? I bet that he’ll pass the second round and become one of the top ten geniuses on the Yanhuang List.”

Hearing this, the Fifth Prince’s smile vanished in an instant, his expression turning ugly. But he had already given his word, and backing down now was not in his nature.

Forcing a smile that was uglier than a grimace, the Fifth Prince said, ”Fine. Then I’ll bet that he won’t pass the second round, nor will he become one of the top ten geniuses of the Yanhuang List.”

At his words, Qing Zhu smiled, a smile that made her look even more stunningly beautiful. Beside them, Kang Lai was completely mesmerized. He had never imagined such a beautiful woman could exist in the world.

”Then how about we bet five hundred thousand Low Grade Primordial Stones?” Qing Zhu asked.

The Fifth Prince hesitated at the wager. Five hundred thousand Low Grade Primordial Stones was an enormous sum. Even for a Prince, that amount was practically his entire fortune, a portion of which had been ’gifts’ from the disciples of various great families.

”What’s wrong? Is the Fifth Prince scared?” Seeing his hesitation, Qing Zhu directly challenged him, completely unafraid of his status as a Prince.

Qing Zhu’s words left the Fifth Prince with no way out. If he refused, he would utterly disgrace the Royal Family, and more importantly, he would disgrace himself.

After a moment of internal deliberation, the Fifth Prince feigned a carefree attitude and agreed. The two made a huge bet of five hundred thousand Low Grade Primordial Stones, with Kang Lai as the witness.

’My arrangements were so meticulous,’ the Fifth Prince thought. ’Although Lin Yun has made it through the seventh trial, the next three are my real trump cards. I have complete confidence in their strength.’

With that thought, the Fifth Prince felt relieved. He looked back towards the Martial Arts Arena, where Lin Yun was already locked in battle with the challenger from the eighth trial.

’He’s definitely been paid,’ Lin Yun thought. The man had launched a ferocious assault from the very beginning, and every single one of his strikes was aimed to kill.

Furthermore, this man’s Combat Power was on a completely different level from the previous seven opponents. If the last few were geniuses, then this man was a top-tier genius.

’He’s so much stronger all of a sudden. It seems the last three matches are the most dangerous ones,’ Lin Yun thought. He pushed his Red Flame Spear Technique to its absolute limit, his spear clashing repeatedly with the man’s greatsword.

A hundred exchanges passed. Although Lin Yun held the upper hand, he still hadn’t been able to defeat his opponent. At this point, dragging the fight out any longer would be extremely disadvantageous for him.

At this thought, Lin Yun steeled his resolve and intentionally revealed an opening. Seeing this flaw in Lin Yun’s defense, the man naturally wouldn’t let such a good opportunity pass.

He swung his blade down at Lin Yun. To everyone’s astonishment, Lin Yun actually tried to catch the descending blade with his bare hand.

”Haha, what an idiot! Watch me take your arm!” the man laughed maniacally.

However, when the blade made contact with his palm, blood gushed forth instantly, but it only tore through the skin and flesh. The man’s greatsword could not penetrate another inch.

”This...!” Discovering this, the man was utterly astonished. ’What kind of terrifyingly durable body must he have to catch my Earth Spirit Soldier with his bare hands?’

Gripping the man’s greatsword tightly, Lin Yun thrust his Bone Spear forward. With no room to evade, the Bone Spear pierced directly through the man’s chest.

This was the first person Lin Yun had killed since the fighting began.

With a hole clean through his chest, the man was clearly not going to survive. Watching him slowly weaken, Lin Yun said coldly, ”If you’re going to kill, you should be prepared to be killed.”

With this kill, Lin Yun had now won eight matches.

By now, even the Primordial Ocean Realm expert sent by the Royal Family was looking at Lin Yun in a new light. He had already decided that, no matter what, as long as Lin Yun survived, he had to report back and have the Royal Family recruit him.

’His talent, Combat Power, and temperament... he’s truly a dragon among men. This boy has the makings of a Demon Fiend! At the same Realm, I’m afraid only the Crown Prince could contend with him,’ the Primordial Ocean Realm expert marveled internally. Lin Yun was the most abnormal person he had ever seen, and the only one who could be compared to the Crown Prince.
