Divine Emperor Demon Emperor

Chapter 207: Chapter 207: The Person Closest to the Yanhuang List

With his hands clasped behind his back, Lin Yun observed. Ning Shuang’s Stealth Techniques might have been difficult for others to detect, but to him, they were mere child’s play.

Compared to a true assassin, Ning Shuang had an absolutely fatal weakness: the hatred in her heart.

With her entire clan massacred, the seeds of hatred had long been planted in Ning Shuang’s heart. Because of this, no matter how hard she tried to hide her aura, a faint killing intent still leaked out for Lin Yun to detect.

This killing intent might have been difficult for an ordinary person to notice, but it was a different story for someone with keen perception. For Lin Yun, this faint killing intent was all he needed to pinpoint Ning Shuang’s position with ease.

”An assassin should not exude killing intent. The hatred in your heart is too strong; you can’t hide your killing intent at all. If you want to become stronger, you must overcome this flaw. Only by achieving a heart as still as water can you become a true assassin,” Lin Yun said calmly.

As his voice fell, Lin Yun threw a seemingly casual punch into the empty space to his right. Where his fist struck, Ning Shuang’s figure quickly materialized.

Having located Ning Shuang with ease, Lin Yun did not press his attack. In his eyes, the threat she posed was even less than that of the Third Leader.

An assassin’s greatest strength lies in their stealth, launching a fatal blow when their opponent’s guard is down. However, once their stealth is seen through, an assassin’s Combat Power is less than that of an ordinary Martial Artist.

Take Ning Shuang, for example. Her Stealth Techniques had been completely seen through by Lin Yun. This point alone already put him in an invincible position.

Of course, this was all predicated on his ability to capture auras and his keen perception; an ordinary person would have no way of discovering Ning Shuang’s location.

Ning Shuang, who was well-versed in the Path of Assassination, also understood that without the ability to hide, there was no hope of victory.

However, she refused to admit defeat just like that. Her great vengeance had yet to be exacted. If Lin Yun wasn’t even stronger than her, then there was no reason for her to follow him.

The Butterfly Sword in her hand was like a gracefully dancing butterfly. Within the seemingly beautiful Swordsmanship, an immense killing intent was hidden.

”Let’s settle this in one move.” Having seen through Ning Shuang’s stealth, Lin Yun knew that to make her follow him willingly, he had to display overwhelming power.

With a flash of his Space Ring, a ghastly white Bone Spear appeared in his hand. Thick flames enveloped the spear’s shaft. At that moment, both of them unleashed their strongest attacks.

The might of the Fiery Flame Spear Technique was astounding, especially in Lin Yun’s hands, where it had already reached a state of pure perfection. He thrust it toward Ning Shuang’s Butterfly Sword.

Lin Yun keenly perceived Ning Shuang’s killing blow. The spear tip, which had been thrusting straight, slightly changed direction. To Ning Shuang’s astonishment, the Bone Spear struck the very tip of her sword.

Her move having been seen through by Lin Yun, the immense force transmitted from the Bone Spear instantly sent the Butterfly Sword flying from her grasp.

Disarmed, Ning Shuang had lost all ability to fight. At the same time, she was completely convinced of Lin Yun’s Combat Power. After a brief, stunned silence, Ning Shuang looked at Lin Yun and said, ”From now on, you are my master.”

”You don’t have to call me master.” Hearing this, Lin Yun replied coolly. He wasn’t very fond of that title.

Lin Yun had his own plans for the future. He wanted revenge, and it was impossible to achieve it with his strength alone. No matter how powerful one person was, they couldn’t overthrow the entire Divine Realm by themselves. Lin Yun needed to build his own force—a power that could contend with the entire Divine Realm.

Although this idea seemed like a fantasy right now, Lin Yun firmly believed that one day he would succeed. And when that day came, it would be time to declare war on the Divine Emperor.

”I will avenge you,” he said calmly to Ning Shuang.

Lin Yun’s words were spoken calmly, yet to Ning Shuang’s ears, they inspired absolute belief. That one simple sentence felt more trustworthy than countless solemn oaths.

”Young Master Lin, from now on, Ning Shuang will be a sharp sword in your hand.” She bowed to Lin Yun.

Watching Lin Yun and Ning Shuang on the Martial Arts Arena, the Fifth Prince’s face turned ashen from his seat in the stands. After taking his money, not only had Ning Shuang failed to kill Lin Yun, but she had even pledged allegiance to him.

In the Fifth Prince’s eyes, this was undoubtedly a slap in the face. A nearly palpable killing intent and rage swept through the Royal Family’s exclusive viewing platform.

Qing Zhu, who sat beside him, smiled faintly. Completely unaffected by the Fifth Prince’s killing intent, she said unhurriedly, ”Surely the Fifth Prince isn’t thinking of killing someone right now, is he?”

”You...” Even now, Qing Zhu was still mocking him. The Fifth Prince almost lost control.

Seeing the Fifth Prince’s sullen expression and eyes burning with blazing fury, Qing Zhu covered her mouth with a chuckle and said no more.

’Damn it! No one in this world dares to take my money and not do the job! Ning Shuang, since you’re courting death, don’t blame this Prince!’ he thought, his heart filled with chilling killing intent. He now wanted to kill not just Lin Yun, but Ning Shuang as well.

”Your Highness, there’s no need to be so angry. Isn’t there one match left? Your Highness should be well aware of his strength,” Kang Lai spoke up.

Hearing Kang Lai’s words, the Fifth Prince forcibly suppressed his anger. Before, he would have been certain that Lin Yun wouldn’t last a single move against this person.

However, after watching Lin Yun’s nine battles, the Fifth Prince was no longer so optimistic.

Although this person was hailed as the strongest of the Yanhuang List candidates and the one closest to the top ten geniuses on the list, the Combat Power Lin Yun had displayed had completely eroded the Fifth Prince’s confidence.

On the Martial Arts Arena, Ning Shuang also warned Lin Yun about the difficulty of the final match.

Soon, the final battle of the Yanhuang List’s second round was about to begin. A young man in white robes walked onto the Martial Arts Arena. His first impression was one of weakness, like a scholar who lacked the strength to even truss a chicken.

”The Scholar’s Sword... Chang Qing.” Many of the wealthy scions recognized the young man.

Chang Qing was an enigmatic young man. The only thing anyone knew about his identity was that he was a student of Yanhuang Academy’s Genius Class.

He was a person shrouded in layers of mystery. Some had speculated that Chang Qing possessed the strength of a top ten genius on the Yanhuang List, but ever since earning the title of Yanhuang List candidate three years ago, he had not revealed his strength in public again.

Three years had passed. Now twenty-eight years old, no one knew just how strong Chang Qing had become.

For the past three years, Chang Qing was almost never at Yanhuang Academy. He was always out training, and no one knew where he had been, nor what his Cultivation level was now.

Even his title as the strongest among the Yanhuang List candidates was merely speculation.

Stepping onto the Martial Arts Arena, Chang Qing showed no trace of arrogance. He was like an ancient well, his surface completely still and without a single ripple.

The two faced each other. Lin Yun discovered he couldn’t see through Chang Qing’s Cultivation at all. The man standing before him seemed just like an ordinary person.
