Chapter 84: Chapter 84: A Guest at the Qin Family

Lin Yun was like a slippery eel. No matter how the two of them chased, they couldn’t touch a single hair on his head. Instead, one by one, the Qin Family guards had their arms and legs crippled by Lin Yun.

”Alright, stop. We can talk this out properly.” After failing to catch Lin Yun for so long, the old man understood that continuing to fight was pointless. In the end, Lin Yun would just cripple all the Qin Family’s guards.

Hearing the old man’s words, Lin Yun stopped. The reason he dared to enter the Qin Family estate was his confidence in his Body Technique Martial Skill. ’An Earth Level Upper Tier skill... even a Primordial Ocean Realm expert wouldn’t have one, let alone a Qi Sea Realm Martial Artist.’

”So,” Lin Yun asked, looking at the two of them, ”how are you going to compensate me?”

”You... you little brat! What can you do besides run? If you have the guts, fight me head-on! I’ll cripple you in one move!” Hearing Lin Yun’s words and seeing his smug expression, the middle-aged man exploded with anger.

”Hmph. If that’s how you want it, let’s continue. We’ll see if I cripple all your Qin Family guards before you manage to catch me.” Hearing this, Lin Yun didn’t give an inch.

Seeing that his son was about to lose control again, the old man quickly stopped him. ”Shanlin, don’t be ridiculous.”

Compared to the middle-aged man, the old man was naturally much more level-headed. He knew that although they were stronger than Lin Yun, it was useless if they couldn’t catch him. It was very likely that Lin Yun could indeed cripple all of their household guards by himself.

”Young man, please join me in the main hall.” The old man made an inviting gesture. Seeing this, Lin Yun wasn’t afraid. His speed had already guaranteed his safety.

The three of them walked into the main hall. By now, the old man was certain in his heart that Lin Yun must be a genius cultivated by some major power. ’At a mere Fifth Layer of Opening, he’s practically invincible within the Opening Realm. Aside from other geniuses, no other Opening Realm Martial Artist is a match for him at all.’

”Alright, spit it out. What compensation do you want?” the middle-aged man asked, sitting down with a dark expression.

Hearing this, Lin Yun smiled faintly. ”I’ve been attacked twice by the Qin Family’s Martial Artists. How about this: five hundred Low Grade Primordial Stones as compensation, and you let me stay at the Qin residence for two months, room and board included. How does that sound?”

”Are you insane? Five hundred Low Grade Primordial Stones? Who do you think you are? And you want to live in my Qin Family residence for two months? Do you really think I can’t do anything to you?” Upon hearing this, the middle-aged man’s anger flared once more. He stared at Lin Yun as if he wanted to eat him alive.

”So that’s a no? Then let’s just continue,” Lin Yun said, meeting the middle-aged man’s gaze without a trace of fear.

”Bring it on! A mere Opening Realm Martial Artist dares to walk all over my Qin Family!” The middle-aged man didn’t back down either.

Just as they were about to fight again, it was once again the old man who intervened. ”Shanlin, shut up! You’re this old and you still have no composure. What has become of you?”

Scolded by the old man, the middle-aged man shut his mouth with a furious look on his face. He couldn’t disobey his own father’s words.

After silencing the middle-aged man, the old man looked at Lin Yun, a shrewd glint flashing in his eyes. As the man who had single-handedly built the Qin Family into the number one Noble Family in town, the old man was clearly a wily old fox. He knew Lin Yun held no real malice toward the Qin Family.

”Young man, I can agree to the five hundred Low Grade Primordial Stones. However, you want to stay in our Qin Family residence for two months. Could you tell an old man like me the reason for this?” the old man asked.

Hearing this and seeing the wise smile on the old man’s face, Lin Yun knew that he must have figured something out.

”To be honest with you, Senior, this humble one was preparing to go to the County City to take the Yanhuang Academy entrance examination. However, I’ve run out of Primordial Stones, and I have a very large appetite, so...” Lin Yun explained, telling the truth about everything except for the matter of Little Ape.

After hearing Lin Yun’s explanation, the smile on the old man’s face widened. The middle-aged man, however, snorted coldly from the side, ”Hmph. So you’re just a filthy beggar. What bad luck.”

As soon as he said this, Lin Yun’s brow furrowed. He looked at the middle-aged man and retorted mockingly, ”Hmph, a Qi Sea Realm Martial Artist who can’t even beat a Fifth Layer of Opening Realm like me. How pathetic.”

”What did you say? If you have the guts, stop running! See if I don’t beat you to death!”

”Come on, then! If you can catch me, I’ll fight you. You can’t even touch me, yet you’re still here making a fool of yourself.”

”Brat, you’re courting death!”

”Bring it, bring it! I’ve lived my whole life without learning how to spell the word ’death’!” The two started arguing again, and fluctuations of Elemental Power began to radiate from their bodies. Having no other choice, the old man roared.

”Enough! Shanlin, do you even look like a Patriarch anymore?”

The old man’s angry shout instantly doused the middle-aged man’s fire. He sat back down in his chair indignantly, glaring at Lin Yun with a dark expression.

A wicked grin appeared on Lin Yun’s face as he shot a provocative look at the middle-aged man, as if to say, ’What about it? Come and get me if you’ve got the guts.’

Thoroughly provoked by Lin Yun, the middle-aged man stood up. ”Father, I feel stifled. I’m going for a walk.” Without sparing Lin Yun another glance, he walked straight out of the hall.

With the man gone, only Lin Yun and the old man were left in the hall. The old man looked at his son’s retreating back and spoke with a hint of helplessness.

”My son, Qin Shanlin, was spoiled rotten by me. As the saying goes, ’if the upper beam is crooked, the lower beam will be too.’ As a result, Qin Feng has also become a good-for-nothing dandy who does whatever he pleases. Though I see it all, I’m powerless to change it. Young man, if you wish to stay in our Qin Family residence for two months, I have one request,” the old man said slowly.

Hearing this, Lin Yun didn’t know what the old man was planning, but he still replied, ”Please speak, Senior.”

”I know you are no ordinary person. Your temperament and Combat Power reveal your experience and insight. I would like to ask for your help in teaching my son and grandson, to make them into true Martial Artists.”

Hearing this, Lin Yun was stunned. Qin Feng was one thing, but Qin Shanlin was a Second Layer of Qi Sea Realm expert. Lin Yun felt it would be an awkward task.

Seeing through Lin Yun’s hesitation, the old man laughed. ”Young hero, don’t worry. Although Shanlin is unruly, he will absolutely listen to my words. You can just do as you see fit. What do you say? Are you confident?”

”Senior, this junior can agree, but I can’t make any guarantees.” After a moment of thought, Lin Yun finally agreed. The old man gave him a very good impression, completely different from the father and son duo of Qin Feng and Qin Shanlin.

”Excellent. In that case, this old man thanks you in advance,” the old man said with a smile.

Afterward, Lin Yun chatted with the old man for a while longer. The old man’s name was Qin Shitian. The Qin Family’s ability to become the top Noble Family in town was entirely due to him.

Qin Shitian was an orphan, raised in the small town on the charity of its many families. Due to a fortunate encounter, he chanced upon the Mysterious City. There, he went through countless life-and-death struggles, eventually becoming a Qi Sea Realm Martial Artist.

After reaching middle age, Qin Shitian returned to the town, married, and had a son. Because of his great personal strength, the Qin Family quickly became the number one family in town.
