Chapter 51: Chapter 51: Imprisoned Dragon Young Master

The members of the two great powers took up residence with the Iron Blood Gang and the Blood Refining Ancestor, respectively. The one place spurned by both powers, the Death Row Shelter, became Lin Yun’s only hope.

Although Lin Yun knew that Ye Yunlong also coveted his inheritance, he had no choice but to go to the Death Row Shelter.

The Death Row Shelter was actually similar to the Iron Blood Gang, except it was filled with criminals wanted by the Royal Family. In exchange for sanctuary, they worked for Ye Yunlong, who in turn used them to form a powerful faction in Mysterious City.

”Lin Yun, so you’re willing to join my Death Row Shelter?” In the Death Row Shelter, Lin Yun met Ye Yunlong. At first glance, Ye Yunlong looked like a scholar, lacking any of the imposing aura of a Primordial Ocean Realm expert.

However, with his keen perception, Lin Yun would never mistake Ye Yunlong for an ordinary person. He sharply detected the dangerous aura that Ye Yunlong unintentionally exuded.

Hearing Ye Yunlong’s words, Lin Yun nodded calmly. ’First, I need to find sanctuary. I can figure out the rest later.’

Seeing Lin Yun agree, Ye Yunlong smiled and nodded. Everyone wanted the inheritance Lin Yun possessed. Now that Lin Yun had joined the Death Row Shelter, he was in the perfect position to get it first.

”In that case, you can settle in here. Don’t worry about your safety. Imprisoned Dragon, show Lin Yun out. Have him stay in the courtyard next to yours.” Ye Yunlong didn’t mention a single word about the inheritance, his tone toward Lin Yun exceptionally cordial.

’Now that I’ve slipped into the Death Row Shelter, I should be safe for the time being. But this isn’t a safe haven either. Ye Yunlong is after my inheritance, and he’s having me live next to the Imprisoned Dragon Young Master to keep an eye on me.’

Lin Yun hid in the Death Row Shelter while the two great powers, along with the Iron Blood Gang and the Blood Refining Ancestor, scoured the entire city for him. But after two full days, they had found no trace of him, and the two powers grew frantic with worry.

The outside world was in chaos, but Lin Yun’s past two days were peaceful. He spent every day cultivating. ’Seizing every opportunity to improve myself is what’s most important right now.’

As Lin Yun was in his courtyard studying the Monk’s Inch Step, the Imprisoned Dragon Young Master coldly approached and tossed a Secret Manual in front of him.

*Disguise Technique...* Looking at the Secret Manual tossed by the Imprisoned Dragon Young Master, Lin Yun was inwardly shocked. ’This is exactly what I need most right now! If I can’t disguise myself while being hunted by the two great powers, I’ll truly have nowhere to hide.’

After tossing the Disguise Technique to Lin Yun, the Imprisoned Dragon Young Master turned and left the courtyard without a word.

From their interactions over the past two days, Lin Yun had learned that the Imprisoned Dragon Young Master was a very cold person. He had been monitoring Lin Yun for two days and had spoken no more than three sentences to him—and only when Lin Yun had initiated the conversation.

Excited, Lin Yun picked up the Disguise Technique, hurried back to his room, and began to study it.

The Disguise Technique used medicinal herbs and cosmetics to alter one’s appearance. However, this was only the initial stage, capable of fooling ordinary people but not Martial Artists, who could identify someone by their aura.

The true genius of this particular Disguise Technique was that it taught one how to alter their own aura, making the disguise impossible for anyone to see through.

Lin Yun spent the entire day reading the Disguise Technique from cover to cover. He was astounded by the Secret Manual. ’So my Elemental Power can be used like this!’

When he reached the last page, Lin Yun found a handwritten note. Judging by the script, it must have been written by the Imprisoned Dragon Young Master.

”Lin Yun, I came across this Disguise Technique by chance. It’s not a powerful Martial Skill, but it should be useful to you right now. However, altering your aura is quite difficult. Whether or not you can master it is up to you.”

A smile touched Lin Yun’s lips after he finished reading the note. ’Changing one’s aura might be difficult for others, but for me, it’s incredibly simple.’

The so-called ”altering one’s aura” was simply changing the circulation pattern of one’s Elemental Power. As a Dual Cultivation Martial Artist who practiced two different Cultivation Techniques, this was something Lin Yun could do with ease.

’This is perfect! With this Disguise Technique, escaping will be much easier.’ He stored it in his Space Ring, and then quietly slipped out of his room.

When Lin Yun arrived outside the Imprisoned Dragon Young Master’s room, a cold voice called out from within before he could even knock. ”Come in.”

As instructed, Lin Yun pushed the door open and entered, immediately spotting the Imprisoned Dragon Young Master sitting inside.

The Imprisoned Dragon Young Master seemed to have been expecting him, showing no surprise as Lin Yun approached. ”Sit.”

The two sat facing each other, and Lin Yun asked, ”You knew I was coming?”

The Imprisoned Dragon Young Master didn’t answer. Instead, he poured Lin Yun a cup of wine before speaking slowly.

”Mysterious City has three great ’Young Masters.’ The Iron Blood Young Master is the beloved son of Iron Blood. The Blood Refining Young Master is the prized disciple of the Blood Refining Ancestor. And me? I’m just a member of the Death Row Shelter. Although I’m known publicly as Ye Yunlong’s adopted son, I’m actually just a wanted death row inmate.”

”Ye Yunlong saw my talent and trained me to be a Deadpool. I didn’t disappoint him. After a series of trials, he was very satisfied...”

As if telling a story, the Imprisoned Dragon Young Master slowly recounted his life over the past few years. Finally, he asked Lin Yun, ”Do you know what the Death Row Shelter really is?”

At his words, Lin Yun shook his head. He knew next to nothing about the Death Row Shelter. In the two days he had been there, he hadn’t seen anyone from the shelter besides the Imprisoned Dragon Young Master.

”Publicly, the Death Row Shelter is a sanctuary for criminals wanted by the Royal Family. But in reality, the Death Row Shelter is an organization of assassins. Every single person here is a killer.”

”As long as someone can pay the price, the Death Row Shelter will kill for them.”

As the Imprisoned Dragon Young Master revealed the secrets of the Death Row Shelter one by one, Lin Yun was stunned. ’No wonder Ye Yunlong would risk offending the Royal Family to shelter these convicts. So this is why.’

”And don’t underestimate the Death Row Shelter. This place is just one branch. The Death Row Shelter exists throughout the entire Eastern Domain. It’s a true behemoth.”

”They give sanctuary to convicts and take in orphans, training them to become Deadpools and assassins. As long as you can pay the price, the Death Row Shelter can kill anyone for you.”

After hearing the Imprisoned Dragon Young Master’s explanation, Lin Yun had a much clearer picture of the Death Row Shelter. ’This is a major power, one of the most formidable in the entire Eastern Domain.’

”Why are you telling me all this?” Lin Yun finally asked.

Hearing Lin Yun’s question, the Imprisoned Dragon Young Master replied, his expression still impassive, ”Perhaps we’ve had similar experiences. Besides, you’re not cut out to be an assassin.”

That night, Lin Yun and the Imprisoned Dragon Young Master talked for a long time. Although the Imprisoned Dragon Young Master spoke very little, Lin Yun felt that he was a person who was cold on the outside but warm on the inside, and someone worth knowing.
