Chapter 57: Chapter 57: The 4 Great Young Masters of the Mysterious City

With this Earth Tier Three-Stars Spirit Grass, Lin Yun was certain he could break through to the Fourth Layer of the Opening Realm within a week.

It had only been a short while since he broke through to the Third Layer of the Opening Realm, and he was already about to reach the Fourth. This was all thanks to Ye Yunlong. If it weren’t for his unstinting ”help,” Lin Yun would have needed at least another two months to reach the Fourth Layer of the Opening Realm.

He had saved two months. Lin Yun was ecstatic.

By cultivating in the Gathering Element Array for two hours each day, Lin Yun’s progress was incredibly fast. In less than a week—on just the fifth day—Lin Yun successfully broke through to the Fourth Layer of the Opening Realm.

After his successful breakthrough, Lin Yun had a pleasant month. He would cultivate for two hours a day in the Gathering Element Array and then wander around Mysterious City to see if there was anything he needed.

During that month, a few reckless fools tried to ambush Lin Yun, but he easily defeated them all. Although Lin Yun was only at the Fourth Layer of the Opening Realm, he had no problem defeating Martial Artists at the Sixth and Seventh Layers of the Opening Realm.

Lin Yun’s prowess caused his fame to skyrocket in Mysterious City. In terms of power, he could fight above his level. In terms of backing, everyone in Mysterious City now knew that Ye Yunlong showed him great favor.

Naturally, a rumor began to circulate through Mysterious City: Lin Yun had become the city’s fourth Great Young Master. From then on, the Three Great Young Masters of Mysterious City became the Four Great Young Masters.

”Lin Yun, the Iron Blood Young Master and the Blood Refining Young Master have invited you to a gathering at Huayue Tower tonight.” While he was in his room studying the Daoist’s Qingfeng Body Technique, Lin Yun heard Imprisoned Dragon call out from outside his door.

”Hm? Why are they inviting me?” Lin Yun walked out of his room and looked at Imprisoned Dragon, puzzled. He’d never had any contact with those two. ’Why would they invite me to a gathering?’

”They probably want to mock you. After all, you’re rumored to be the ’Fourth Great Young Master.’ With their tempers, they’d naturally come looking for trouble,” Imprisoned Dragon said coldly.

Hearing this, a wicked smile touched the corners of Lin Yun’s lips. ’I haven’t even gone looking for trouble with them, and they’re coming after me?’

Lin Yun had never forgotten how Iron Blood and the Blood Refining Ancestor had helped those two major powers. ’Since I don’t have the ability to deal with the old ones, if the young ones are delivering themselves to my door, I suppose I’ll just have to accept,’ Lin Yun thought.

Lin Yun sneered inwardly. If Imprisoned Dragon knew what Lin Yun was thinking, he would definitely call him an idiot. Both the Iron Blood Young Master and the Blood Refining Young Master were at the Sixth Layer of Opening. They could defeat an ordinary practitioner at the Eighth Layer of Opening and even hold their own against someone at the Ninth Layer of Opening.

And here Lin Yun was, only at the Fourth Layer of Opening, thinking he could take care of those two...

However, there was one thing no one in all of Mysterious City knew: Lin Yun’s true Combat Power. The strength he had shown in public was, at most, equivalent to the Seventh Layer of the Opening Realm.

But was the Seventh Layer of the Opening Realm his peak Combat Power? Of course not. The power of the War God Technique and the Demon Emperor Technique was far beyond even Lin Yun’s own expectations.

By cultivating both of these Unparalleled Techniques, Lin Yun’s Combat Power, despite his Cultivation being only at the Fourth Layer of the Opening Realm, was already no less than that of the Iron Blood Young Master and the Blood Refining Young Master. This was the source of his confidence.

”Imprisoned Dragon, let’s go together tonight. We’ll see what tricks they’re up to,” Lin Yun said with a smile. Hearing this, Imprisoned Dragon nodded.

As arranged, Lin Yun and Imprisoned Dragon arrived at Huayue Tower. A hostess saw them and quickly came over, inviting the two inside with a warm smile.

”Young Master Yun, Imprisoned Dragon Young Master, please.” The hostess led them to the second floor. ”Young Master Yun” was, of course, a reference to Lin Yun.

”Hmph, I thought you wouldn’t dare show up.” As soon as they entered the private room, the Blood Refining Young Master sneered at Lin Yun, his expression showing he held him in utter contempt.

The staff of Huayue Tower naturally knew some of the inside story. Soon, the hostess who had brought Lin Yun’s party up exited the private room, leaving the Space to the four young men.

”Heh, your reputation for having a foul mouth is well-deserved, Blood Refining Young Master,” Lin Yun said with a smile as he took a seat. Beside him, Imprisoned Dragon was as cold and silent as ever.

Hearing Lin Yun’s retort, the Blood Refining Young Master’s expression changed, and he immediately started to shout, ”Lin Yun, who the hell do you think you are? Just because people are calling you one of the Four Great Young Masters, you’re actually taking it seriously? Believe it or not, I’ll—”

As the Blood Refining Young Master raged, the Iron Blood Young Master beside him pulled him back. He turned to Lin Yun with a smile and said, ”Young Master Yun, please don’t mind him. Blood Refining is just a bit hot-headed. We invited you here today to congratulate you on becoming the fourth Great Young Master of Mysterious City.”

The Iron Blood Young Master’s tone was very mild, and an ordinary person would never have detected the cold glint in his eyes. But Lin Yun knew that this man and the Blood Refining Young Master were cut from the same cloth; in fact, he was even more dangerous.

He was calculating and patient. A man like that was like a viper; if you weren’t careful, you’d fall right into his trap.

Lin Yun understood this perfectly but didn’t expose him. A smile appeared on his face as he looked at the Iron Blood Young Master. ”Iron Blood Young Master, you’re much more pleasant to listen to than this hothead. I’d much rather be friends with you.”

”You...” Hearing this, the Blood Refining Young Master was about to erupt again but was instantly silenced by the Iron Blood Young Master.

”You have a good sense of humor, Young Master Yun,” the Iron Blood Young Master said, his smile unwavering. ”Since we are all among the Four Great Young Masters, why don’t we share a drink to start?”

Lin Yun didn’t refuse. He raised his cup, and the four of them drained their wine in one go.

What followed was meaningless small talk, carried on entirely by Lin Yun and the Iron Blood Young Master. At the side, both the Blood Refining Young Master and Imprisoned Dragon watched with sullen expressions.

The Blood Refining Young Master’s foul mood was naturally because of Lin Yun. As for Imprisoned Dragon, he was just born that way.

”Haha, now that I’ve met you, Young Master Yun, I see you are truly a remarkable man,” the Iron Blood Young Master said after they had chatted for a while. ”Next week, the Blood Refining Young Master and I would like to organize a ’Four Great Young Masters Tournament.’ The four of us can have a friendly competition. Would you be interested, Young Master Yun?”

’So, here comes the real reason,’ Lin Yun thought. He knew the two of them couldn’t possibly have invited him out of the goodness of their hearts.

”Oh? A ’Four Great Young Masters Tournament’?” Lin Yun asked, feigning surprise.

”That’s right. Since we are all the Four Great Young Masters of Mysterious City, and we are all Martial Artists, it’s only natural to have a friendly competition. Of course, a tournament is no fun without some stakes. We’ll each put up some treasures as a wager, and the winner can take all of them. I wonder, is Young Master Yun interested?”

Listening to the Iron Blood Young Master’s explanation, Lin Yun had already guessed what the two of them were thinking. They were, of course, still after his legacy techniques.

’I don’t have any treasures on me. A small bet wouldn’t suffice, and I don’t possess anything for a big one. In the end, won’t I have no choice but to wager my legacy techniques?’

A wicked smile crept onto his lips. ’These two really think they have me cornered.’ However, Lin Yun also wanted to use this opportunity to make another huge score.
