Chapter 58: Chapter 58: The 4 Great Young Masters’ Tournament

Looking at the Iron Blood Young Master, a wicked smile played on Lin Yun’s face. ”Since you have such refined tastes, Iron Blood Young Master, it would be rude of me to refuse. However... I am a wanted man. I don’t exactly have any valuables to offer as a wager.”

Hearing this, the Iron Blood Young Master and the Blood Refining Young Master were clearly not expecting Lin Yun to be so agreeable. They were both startled for a moment, but the Blood Refining Young Master quickly followed up with a sneer.

”Lin Yun, if you don’t have any valuables, then just use your inheritance as the wager,” the Blood Refining Young Master blurted out. The moment he said it, the Iron Blood Young Master shot him a fierce glare before turning back to Lin Yun with a wry smile.

”Please don’t mind him, Young Master Yun. The Blood Refining Young Master was just spouting nonsense.”

The two of them were putting on a show, one playing the villain and the other the hero. But Lin Yun had already made up his mind. ’These guys still haven’t given up. All they think about all day is my inheritance. Fine. I’ll take this opportunity to make a killing.’

”Iron Blood Young Master, to be honest, I can’t make the decision about this inheritance myself. I have to go back and consult Lord Ye first and let him decide everything,” Lin Yun said, feigning difficulty.

”Of course, of course. We understand your situation, Young Master Yun. Even without a stake, you are more than welcome. This arena match is meant for martial artists to befriend one another, after all,” the Iron Blood Young Master said with a smile upon hearing his words.

Watching this complete ”smiling tiger,” Lin Yun sneered inwardly. ’If a direct approach fails, you resort to a subtle one. In that case, I’m eager to see what kind of treasures you’re willing to put up.’

”Iron Blood Young Master, I truly admire you,” Lin Yun said. ”But a martial contest is always more exciting with a wager. How about this: I’ll go back and consult Lord Ye, and then I’ll give you my answer. How does that sound?”

”Excellent, excellent. We’ll do whatever you decide, Young Master Yun.” The Iron Blood Young Master maintained his smile the entire time. 𝘧𝓇ℯℴ𝓂

The meal proceeded in a seemingly lively and bustling atmosphere. When it was time to leave Huayue Tower, the Iron Blood Young Master even personally escorted him out. Naturally, Lin Yun played his part in the charade to the very end.

”Why did you waste so much time talking nonsense with them? It’s obvious they’re after your inheritance,” said Imprisoned Dragon, who had been silent until now, as they walked back.

Hearing this, Lin Yun smiled at Imprisoned Dragon. ”They may want my inheritance, but would Ye Yunlong agree? Besides, I’m quite looking forward to seeing what kind of treasures they can produce. If you want to catch a big fish, you need some decent bait, right?”

It must be said, Lin Yun was incredibly greedy. At this moment, he wasn’t thinking about his own safety, but about what treasures the Iron Blood and Blood Refining Young Masters might produce. He figured that to lure out his inheritance, the value of their treasures would have to be substantial.

”Sigh, I really don’t know what to say about you. You’d risk your life for a bit of profit.” After they returned to the Death Row Shelter, Lin Yun told Imprisoned Dragon he was going to find Ye Yunlong and explain the situation. Imprisoned Dragon just sighed. Without another word to Lin Yun, he turned and walked toward his own room.

Watching Imprisoned Dragon’s retreating back, no one could know the depths of the yearning in Lin Yun’s heart. As someone who had been reborn, he carried far, far too many burdens.

The hatred from his past life, the pursuit by two great powers—all of it weighed on him like mountains. The only thing that could overcome it all was strength.

Right now, Lin Yun could only do everything in his power to seize every resource he could possibly obtain.

With a bitter smile, Lin Yun strode resolutely toward the main hall where Ye Yunlong was located.

”What? You want to fight the Iron Blood Young Master and the Blood Refining Young Master in an arena match?” Ye Yunlong roared furiously the moment he heard Lin Yun’s words.

This was clearly a scheme concocted by the Iron Blood and Blood Refining Ancestors from behind the scenes. Their goal was Lin Yun’s inheritance. How could Ye Yunlong not be furious when he heard this?

Just last night, Ye Yunlong had tried cultivating the Thunder God Technique Lin Yun had given him, and he could feel for himself how truly profound it was. In his eyes, Lin Yun now belonged to him. No one could take him away, or Ye Yunlong would genuinely fight them to the death.

Lin Yun had anticipated Ye Yunlong’s anger. His own expression turned cold as he retorted like a child throwing a tantrum, ”Lord Ye, this sort of thing is normal for a Martial Artist. I don’t want to cower in this Death Row Shelter for the rest of my life.”

”Nonsense! Lin Yun, don’t you realize this is their scheme? It’s meant to get rid of you, do you understand?” Ye Yunlong shouted, furious.

”I don’t care. I’m going anyway. If you don’t let me, then I’ll stop cultivating. Then there will be no inheritance at all,” Lin Yun insisted stubbornly.

”You...” Contradicted so brazenly, Ye Yunlong wanted nothing more than to slap him dead on the spot. But in the end, he forced himself to hold back.

Pacing back and forth in the hall, Ye Yunlong’s face was terrifyingly grim. If it had been anyone else, he would have slapped them dead long ago.

But he couldn’t do that to Lin Yun. Having received a mere taste of the inheritance, Ye Yunlong had an obsession with the complete Thunder God Technique that others could not possibly imagine.

One who had not cultivated it could never know just how profound the technique Lin Yun had given him was. Ye Yunlong firmly believed that as long as he obtained the complete Thunder God Technique, he would absolutely be able to break through to the Primordial Ocean Realm and become one of the strongest experts in the Eastern Domain.

After thinking for a long moment and seeing Lin Yun’s determined expression, a smile more painful than a grimace stretched across Ye Yunlong’s face. He walked up to Lin Yun and spoke slowly.

”Fine. Since you want to go, don’t worry about the wager; I will prepare it for you. But you must promise me one thing: you absolutely cannot be reckless. If you find yourself outmatched, you must admit defeat immediately.”

Hearing this, Lin Yun was secretly ecstatic. His goal had been to make Ye Yunlong put up the wager. Once he had a treasure of equivalent value as his own stake, they would have to put up something even more valuable to tempt him into betting his inheritance. That way, Lin Yun could profit even more.

”Thank you, Lord Ye.” He was overjoyed, but on the surface, Lin Yun’s expression revealed nothing.

Having gotten Ye Yunlong’s approval, Lin Yun happily returned to his room. Now, all the preparations were in place. They were scheming against him, so why wouldn’t he scheme right back at them?

This wasn’t a case of Lin Yun seeking death. He dared to do this for two reasons. First was his own strength; Lin Yun was very confident in his abilities and didn’t fear facing either the Iron Blood Young Master or the Blood Refining Young Master.

Second, and most importantly, Lin Yun was certain that his life would not be in danger. He had the current Ye Yunlong wrapped around his finger. As long as his deception held, Ye Yunlong would never allow him to die so easily.

In other words, regardless of whether he could win or not, his life would not be at risk.

Only a fool would refuse such a guaranteed, can’t-lose proposition.

Once Lin Yun agreed, news quickly spread throughout the Mysterious City that the Four Great Young Masters were hosting an arena tournament. They would ”make friends through martial arts” at an arena set up in the city center. The event was scheduled for three days from now.
