Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 990: Chapter 472: Gathering of Heroes (Third Update)_2

But this was already another matter, indeed not within the scope of their commission.

Lawrence Winters no longer dwelled on this matter.

After the plane stopped steadily, he disembarked the plane with the others.

Near the tarmac, a modified Mercedes van was parked there, along with a stretched Rolls-Royce Phantom.

These were the vehicles of the Stetford Family.

Even Mr. Zhuge lifted his eyes to look, his expression faintly showing anticipation.

Sure enough, the car door opened, and Evan Stetford stepped out.

He quickly walked over to them, waving and smiling, ”Congratulations to everyone, whether or not you advanced, you presented us with a high-level competition. The response to the live broadcast was excellent; our Celestial Path Sect World Cup has sparked global discussion, it’s undeniably a hit!”

Everyone laughed together.

Evan Stetford shook hands with each of them one by one, finally stopping in front of Lawrence Winters, suppressing his excitement and joy as he softly said, ”Great Heavenly Master Winters, truly deserving of your name.”

”Evan, you’re too kind. If you keep this up, I’ll get conceited.” Lawrence Winters smiled as he shook his hand, ”When I’m so lost in pride, make sure you’re responsible!”

”Responsible, I’m more than willing.” Evan Stetford said meaningfully, wanting Lawrence Winters to get in his car, but Lawrence had already walked off with Daoist Wang, getting into the adjacent Mercedes van.

Evan Stetford also knew that if only Lawrence Winters alone got into his car, it would be too conspicuous, making her the target of many.

So he was ready to invite Mr. Zhuge to join him.

But Lawrence Winters walked away without turning back, so Evan Stetford didn’t want to invite Mr. Zhuge anymore.

Mr. Zhuge had originally thought Evan Stetford was there specifically to pick him up, so he had been standing beside him.

Evan Stetford turned to him and said, ”Mr. Zhuge is also very formidable; I hope to see your even more splendid prowess in the second round of the competition.”

He nodded to him, went back to his own car, and closed the door, showing no intention of inviting Mr. Zhuge to join him.

Mr. Zhuge felt slightly awkward but didn’t say anything, and followed others onto that Mercedes van.

This time, the big vehicle first sent their group back to their respective hotels for them to rest and freshen up, clearly stating that at six in the evening, they would attend a celebratory banquet at the Stetford Family.

Most of them were staying at the Half Moon Hotel of the Stetford Family, located in Chinatown.

A very few, specifically Mr. Zhuge alone, had his own house in Chinatown.

He was directly sent home.

Lawrence Winters and the others returned to their hotel accommodations and went to the bathroom to take a shower.

Although the Zhu Family couple’s house had a bathroom, bathing at the client’s house felt too strange, so Lawrence Winters and the others only washed their faces and rinsed their mouths, without taking a shower.

Lawrence Winters came out of the bathroom with her hair wrapped, felt her whole body relaxed, emitting a fresh scent from head to toe after the shower.

She had just sat down to start her skincare routine when she heard her doorbell ring.

She walked over, looked through the peephole, and found it was Kenneth Osborne.

She was very tired and didn’t want to argue with him, so she didn’t open the door.

Not long after, the doorbell stopped, and her phone rang.

Because Kenneth Osborne had pursued her to New York, and because of that lawsuit, Lawrence Winters had released Kenneth’s phone number from the blacklist.

Seeing it was Kenneth Osborne calling again, she pursed her lips, thinking he was quite persistent.

After finishing her skincare routine, she finally swiped open her phone and answered the call.

This time, Kenneth Osborne called non-stop for ten minutes.

Once the call connected, Kenneth Osborne hurriedly asked, ”Nora, are you hurt?”

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

Though she wasn’t hurt, after that unexpected action, having someone ask if she was hurt felt touching.

Even if the person asking had once made her very angry.

After all, he was someone she had loved...

Knowing he still cared about her, how could she not feel something?

Seeing Lawrence Winters silent, Kenneth Osborne thought she was hurt, quickly saying, ”Why don’t we go to see a doctor and have a check-up? Although your skills are excellent, swinging around while holding an adult really strains the bones and muscles. You dislocated your shoulder as a child, remember...”

Hearing this, Lawrence Winters recalled her unlucky childhood.

Being dislocated while holding hands with kids for a group dance...

She reluctantly said, ”I’m still fine, I was unlucky as a child, but I’m okay now.”

She even rotated her shoulders, actually feeling a bit uncomfortable.
