Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 978: Chapter 468: Which Is Closer (First Update)_2

Lawrence Winters closed her mouth again.

She instinctively glanced at Mr. Zhuge, who seemed unperturbed and unsurprised.

Lawrence Winters’ gaze flickered, and she saw Mrs. Blythe make a hand gesture again, reminding her of the paper ball with ”The wicked will bring about their own downfall” written on it.

Lawrence Winters took a deep breath and nodded, ”Alright, I’ll go see Alice too. She woke up yesterday, she should be able to get out of bed today.”

”What?! Alice has already woken up?!” William turned sharply, his pupils narrowing suddenly, ”You’re not joking, right? Even the best doctors here couldn’t wake her up, how did you do it?”

”Haha, how we did it doesn’t seem to concern you.” Lawrence Winters walked forward, not even glancing at William.

”Alice is my cousin, I have a right to know what you all did.” William stared at Lawrence Winters, treating her as the leader of these people.

Because she was the one constantly taunting him.

Lawrence Winters shrugged, ”Miss Blythe has both her parents, when is it a cousin’s turn to talk about rights?”

Mr. Blythe calmly said at this time, ”William is indeed very concerned about Alice, she has a good relationship with her cousin.”

Lawrence Winters nodded to show she understood and smiled, ”Is that so? But he’s not our client, we have no obligation to explain to him.”

”Who is your client?” William’s expression dulled, ”Is it my uncle and aunt?”

”Of course. You didn’t know?” Lawrence Winters laughed, covering her mouth, ”Seems like you’re not that close.”

Because William had previously claimed his relationship with Mr. and Mrs. Blythe and Alice was extraordinary, she relentlessly poked at his pride.

A stab in the heart, an arrow straight to the heart.

William’s face indeed grew darker and darker.

But he said nothing more, and followed Mr. and Mrs. Blythe upstairs to Alice’s bedroom door.

Mrs. Blythe knocked on the door, ”Alice? Are you up?”

After a while, the bedroom door opened, and Alice Blythe stood at the doorway in her casual home clothes, leaning against the door, obviously still a bit weak.

However, when she saw William standing behind her parents, the smile on her face froze immediately.

”Dad, Mom, William, you’re here too...”

She murmured, stepping aside to let them in.

Lawrence Winters was the last to enter.

Alice Blythe’s bedroom was tidy, looking exactly like a good girl’s room.

Mr. and Mrs. Blythe sat on the sofa under the window, while William stood beside them, smiling, ”Alice, you’re awake, why didn’t you call me? I come to see you every day, just yesterday I happened to have something, otherwise, I would have seen you woke up with my own eyes.”

Alice Blythe sat somewhat awkwardly on the white leather stool in front of the vanity, sullenly saying, ”I was very tired when I woke up yesterday, I took a nap and only felt a bit better this morning.”

William quickly said, ”That’s good, otherwise Uncle and Aunt would have been worried sick. I’ve been following them to work every day, I know they always worry about you. Recently, they went to sign a big contract, and I stayed behind to take care of you. Don’t worry, you’re not causing us any trouble. It’s what we should do to take care of you.”

Alice Blythe lowered her head even more.

She rubbed her hands, murmuring, ”I understand, thank you, William.”

”And your mom and dad, you should thank them too. They work hard to make money and provide you with such good living conditions, so don’t make them worry anymore, got it?” William said amiably and his voice softened even more.

Alice Blythe nodded, ”I understand.”

She seemed very obedient to William’s words.

It was like giving a command and performing an action.

Lawrence Winters watched from the side, clicking her tongue in wonder.

She wanted to say something, but Mrs. Blythe gave her a look, so she had to stay silent.

William glanced at Mr. Blythe, smiling, ”Uncle, are you going to the company? You’ve not been around these days, I’ve been managing your lab, those scientists and laboratorians are working hard, but they really miss you.”

Mr. Blythe waved it off, ”No rush, no rush, Alice isn’t fully recovered yet.”

William looked at Alice Blythe again, smiling, ”Alice, look at your dad, he doesn’t even care about the company for you.”

Alice Blythe hurriedly looked up, anxiously saying, ”Dad, you should go to the company, I’m fine, I can take care of myself...”

Mrs. Blythe murmured, ”...Alice, is that what you think of us? Do you think we value business more than you?”
