Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 974: Chapter 467: Who’s That Wild Chicken Adding Drama? (Second Update)_2

”...Think about it carefully, this formation must have been set by someone familiar with Miss Blythe. The purpose is her life.” Lawrence Winters sighed, reaching out to pat Mrs. Blythe’s shoulder, ”I think maybe you should report it to the police...”

After all, they’re not professionals. If someone truly intends to murder Alice Blythe without leaving traces, only the police might solve the problem.

However, Mr. Blythe slowly shook his head and said, ”Report to the police? The police here have no idea what a Geomantic Formation or a Nightmare Town is. If you tell them someone’s trying to murder my daughter using ’Nightmare Town’, they’d probably think I have a mental illness and send me to see a psychologist.”

Lawrence Winters was speechless, well, she hadn’t considered that point earlier.

She asked curiously, ”...So, is this why you’re not contacting the police but reaching out to the Celestial Path Sect instead?”

Mrs. Blythe wiped her tears, calmed herself, and said, ”We didn’t approach the Celestial Path Sect; we sought out the Great Heavenly Master Winters. I knew only the Great Heavenly Master Winters could save our Alice.”

Lawrence Winters smirked slightly, feeling this was putting her on too high a pedestal!

Fortunately, she was aware of her own limitations and said with a smile, ”Mrs. Blythe, you’re too kind. I’m aware of my capabilities. I hope you treat this matter seriously. If Miss Blythe isn’t suicidal, someone around her surely has murder motives.”

After all, a Geomantic Formation and Nightmare Town aren’t something a girl under eighteen could accomplish on her own; she’d need assistance.

”...Are you sure it’s not herself?” Mr. Blythe frowned even more, ”Great Heavenly Master Winters, I won’t lie to you, she has depression...”

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

That she didn’t know!

But having depression might imply suicidal tendencies, which doesn’t mean a person with depression would definitely commit suicide.

Those are two separate matters.

Lawrence Winters folded her arms, pondering, ”If that’s the case, I have an idea. You should check Miss Blythe’s bank account.”

”Check her bank account? Why?”

”Because such intricate Geomantic Formations and Suppression Techniques aren’t something ordinary people can execute. It requires a highly professional Heavenly Master. Such Heavenly Masters charge a lot...” Lawrence Winters’ thinking is straightforward, always starting from money.

After all, that’s the root cause of most things in the world.

Money isn’t everything, but without it, you can’t do anything.

Mr. Blythe suddenly understood, ”So, if she requested someone to set up the Geomantic Formation and Nightmare Town, she’d be the one paying?”

”Of course. Otherwise, did Mr. and Mrs. Blythe hire someone to do it?” Lawrence Winters raised an eyebrow, ”Isn’t she your only daughter?”

Moreover, abroad there’s no rule about having just one child, is there a need to kill a daughter for a son?

Mr. and Mrs. Blythe shook their heads together, shaking like rattles.

”Of course not, how could we ask someone to do such a thing?! Alice is our only daughter, we’d die for her!” Mrs. Blythe reacted fiercely, and Mr. Blythe silently nodded, looking slightly reproachfully at Lawrence Winters, as if blaming her for thinking that way about them.

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

Fine, she was merely ruling out impossibilities to prove the final possible scenario.

She shrugged, ”Hmm, since neither she nor you hired someone, there must be another person or a third party hiring someone. Anyway, the Reincarnation Lotus Array couldn’t have fallen from the sky.”

”Also, the doll kneeling should have something inside that plays materials inducing suicide. Miss Blythe wore Bluetooth earbuds while sleeping and listening, which might affect her mental state.”

At that point, even if you don’t want to commit suicide, you’d be induced to have suicidal thoughts.

Though Lawrence Winters spoke subtly, Mr. and Mrs. Blythe understood.

They nodded solemnly, ”That’s certain. We’re not fools. There must be problematic people among the caregivers. Initially, when Alice was in a coma, during hospital check-ups, she wasn’t wearing headphones.”

If she was, the doctor would’ve noticed.

Lawrence Winters nodded, ”You’re right. Someone kept a close watch on her. During doctor examinations, they definitely wouldn’t let her wear those earphones.”

”Also, Bluetooth earbuds need charging.”

”This means, after the Geomantic Formation was set, someone was observing her closely, charging her earbuds as well as the playback device, which needs occasional charging too.”

”She’s been lying at home for two weeks. Without someone charging the devices, they would’ve stopped working long ago.”
