Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 541: Chapter 291: I’m Just Telling the Truth

Now, if it weren’t for the slip-up with the address for the medication change, she still wouldn’t know how long she’d keep it hidden.

Growing up as kids probably starts with secretly doing things behind adults’ backs, right?

Lawrence Winters touched her nose and said defiantly, ”When did I ever sneak around? Kenneth knows! It’s not my fault you guys don’t know! Blame the excellent soundproofing of the room!”

”Kenneth knows too?!” Nick Zeller recalled Kenneth Osborne calling him this morning, hinting several times that the wound might have caused Lawrence Winters’ high fever. Then he remembered after Edward Foster brought the family doctor home, Kenneth Osborne moved out. He suddenly understood Kenneth Osborne’s feelings.

This is definitely jealousy!

After all, the real reason for Lawrence Winters’ fever, besides him and the Daoist, no one knew, and even if they did, no one would believe it.

Moreover, he misled Kenneth Osborne, saying it was the knife wound that caused inflammation leading to a high fever.

Tsk, let the misunderstanding be. Who doesn’t get jealous, throw a tantrum, or argue when dating?

Previously, he somewhat disliked Kenneth Osborne’s confidence, as if he was certain of Lawrence Winters.

Now it’s good; look at Lawrence’s pursuers, few but refined!

Nick Zeller happily drove to the private hospital of the Foster family’s doctor.

After parking, as he got out, he and Lawrence Winters happened to run into Edward Foster.

Lawrence Winters looked at the injuries on Edward Foster’s face in surprise, quickly asking, ”What’s happened to you, little Foster? Haven’t seen you for two or three days, and you’ve gotten into a fight again?”

Edward Foster stiffened, putting on a pitiful act, and said aggrievedly, ”How could I fight with someone? It’s your good fiancé Kenneth Osborne who did this! He just seemed to have taken the wrong medicine and rushed over to beat me up without saying a word!”

Then he emphasized again, ”I didn’t fight back! I just...”

Lawrence Winters raised an eyebrow, looking very understanding, interrupting Edward Foster’s words, ”...So you were actually beaten up by Kenneth one-sidedly? Right? Kenneth’s skills are formidable, even if you fought back, you wouldn’t stand a chance against him.”

Her words still carried a hint of closeness and trust towards Kenneth Osborne, making Edward Foster almost vomit with anger.

Feeling extremely upset, he looked at Lawrence Winters and said discontentedly, ”Hey! Regardless of the reason, I’m the one injured now! Can’t you comfort me a bit?!”

”Okay, okay, I’ll comfort you.” Lawrence Winters said with a smile, examining the swelling on Edward Foster’s face, ”Your injury looks serious, but it’s not as bad as it seems; just apply some medication and rest at home for a few days, and the swelling will go down.”

After speaking, she raised her injured arm, saying, ”See, my injury was serious; I only had a high fever for a few days. You’re not feverish, so you’re fine.”

Edward Foster was so angry he jumped, ”Is this comfort? You’re taking sides! You’re helping Kenneth Osborne evade responsibility!”

”I’m just stating the truth. Little Foster, be reasonable.” Lawrence Winters was straightforward in front of Edward Foster, speaking freely.

Edward Foster almost had a heart attack, ”How am I not being reasonable? I’m just too reasonable! Lawrence, you’re too biased!”

He was about to say, ”You can’t be biased just because Kenneth Osborne is your fiancé,” but upon lowering his eyes, he noticed that Lawrence Winters’ engagement ring was gone, and his heart suddenly filled with joy. He decided to stop making Kenneth Osborne sound bad.

At this moment, he needed to be magnanimous, more magnanimous.

What can a defeated general say about bravery?

Only the victor laughs last.

Nick Zeller listened silently on the side without speaking.

Thinking that Kenneth Osborne blamed Lawrence’s fever entirely on Edward Foster and even beat him up.

It seems there’s a lot of jealousy here...

Well, that’s fine; no need to explain then.

He slightly curled his lips and followed Lawrence Winters and Edward Foster into the hospital.

With Edward Foster around, they quickly met the Foster family’s doctor.

Edward Foster said, ”Take care of Miss Winters’ medication first; I’m not in a hurry, I can wait.”

The doctor still examined his facial injuries briefly, confirmed it wasn’t serious, and then helped Lawrence Winters change her medicine.

When the splint was removed, a swollen red ridge appeared on Lawrence’s flawless arm.

The doctor sighed, ”Your inflammation is quite severe; you had a fever, right? Why didn’t you come to the hospital earlier? If the fever got out of control...”

Nick Zeller smiled a bit guiltily, saying, ”Luckily, it wasn’t too serious; the fever went down quickly, so we didn’t come.”

”Oh, Miss Winters has good physical strength.” The doctor nodded, applied medicine around the wound, fixed it with a new splint, and prescribed strong antibiotics, saying, ”Take these twice a day, for three days, then come back for a check-up. If the inflammation clears, you can stop taking them; if not, you might need surgery.”

Lawrence Winters and Edward Foster were startled.

”Surgery?!” Both exclaimed in surprise.

”This is a knife wound; by criminal case standards, it’s almost considered minor injury.” The doctor said seriously, ”If you don’t understand, go look up criminal law. There might be rust on the knife, which can lead to tetanus. Your first doctor should have given you a tetanus shot; otherwise, your situation could be worse.”

Lawrence Winters felt a bit scared, weakly asking, ”...Is it really that serious? Will my wound leave a scar?”

Seeing that after all he had said, this girl was only worried about scarring, the doctor laughed in exasperation, ”You’re only worried about scarring? If it were me, I’d be worried about my life.”

Nick Zeller scratched his head, feeling he had been too lenient towards Lawrence Winters.

He glared at her, planning to address it with her later.

Edward Foster hurriedly said, ”Shouldn’t we check daily then? In case it gets worse?”

Lawrence Winters also looked nervously at the doctor.

The doctor shook his head, ”The fever has subsided, so for now it’s fine. If the high fever persists or recurs, send her to the hospital immediately, don’t delay.”

”Understood, thank you, doctor.” Lawrence Winters nodded obediently, no longer daring to joke about her life.

After her medication change, it was Edward Foster’s turn.

The doctor applied some liquid on his face, which made it look even more amusing with its greenish purple hues.

Lawrence Winters almost wanted to laugh, but then remembered it was Kenneth Osborne who beat Edward Foster to this state. Her heart filled with a strange sense of satisfaction.

Thinking that Kenneth Osborne wasn’t as indifferent to her as he seemed...
