Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 537: Chapter 289: Small Face Really Looks Good on Camera (First Update, Please Vote)

A few strands of hair fell beside her cheeks, making her look far more mature and beautiful than before.

Nick Zeller sighed, ”The kid has grown up.”

The old Daoist came out of the kitchen with a bowl of porridge, casually saying, ”Of course. Many adults seem grown up, but deep down they aren’t, because they’re still a sickness away.”

Lawrence Winters curled his lips, ”Grandmaster, how come I never realized you were a philosopher?”

”Is that so strange?” The old Daoist sat down beside her, handing her the spoon dismissively, ”Our Celestial Path Sect ancestors were essentially philosophers of enlightenment. Without understanding philosophy, one wouldn’t succeed in the Celestial Path Sect.”

Lawrence exclaimed exaggeratedly, ”Oh no! What you said cuts off my source of livelihood! If I don’t understand philosophy, can I not shine brightly in the Celestial Path Sect?!”

The old Daoist laughed, patting her head, ”You’re different. You don’t need to understand philosophy; you are the philosophy.”

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

”Grandmaster, with you praising me like this, I’ll float to the sky.” She said earnestly, ”Having just succeeded in losing weight, a breeze might just blow me away!”

The old Daoist gave her a stern look, ”All you think about is losing weight! Eat more and bulk up, you’ll only have good fortune if you gain some weight. Too skinny and you can’t carry the blessings.”

Lawrence Winters mumbled an ”oh,” not daring to directly contradict him, murmuring, ”...but if I’m fatter, my selfie face looks big...”

Nick heard her, shook his head speechlessly, and said, ”...won’t you use beautification? Your face can look as thin as you want it to.”

”I don’t like using beautification apps,” Lawrence countered confidently, ”They stretch the face so disproportionately, it’s obviously fake.”

”Yet you complain your face is too fat. Young ladies are so hard to please,” Nick jokingly complained, but felt much better.

Lawrence lowered her head to start eating the porridge.

It was indeed a nourishing and blood-enriching porridge boiled overnight, with rose, red dates, glutinous rice, and sea cucumber all melded together, its texture as smooth as bird’s nest, but with more chewiness than bird’s nest.

The taste was sweet with a hint of seafood aroma and the sticky texture of glutinous rice, making her unable to stop.

Lawrence Winters ate three whole bowls of porridge before she finally put down the spoon.

The old Daoist was speechlessly bewildered by her appetite, saying, ”I cooked enough for you to eat for three days, and you finished it all in one day.”

”Grandmaster, I’ll go out and buy more ingredients for you later, so you can make more? We can all eat; you, Uncle, and even my mom all need to supplement properly. I see you’ve all lost weight too.”

Lawrence noticed that, like the old Daoist, both Nick Zeller and Gabrielle Winters also looked somewhat haggard.

Especially the old Daoist, who aged visibly.

Three days ago, he looked like a wrinkled red date.

Three days later, he looked like a wrinkled walnut.

The family was all worried about her...

Lawrence Winters couldn’t help but reflect on her reckless behavior that night.

After breakfast, Nick Zeller went to clean the dishes, and the old Daoist returned to his room to meditate.

Lawrence sat on the sofa to rest.

She picked up her phone and found that during the breakfast, she had several missed calls, along with many friend messages and WeChat and text messages.

There were messages from the Wild Child Girl, Lady Three Billion, Lucas Harlow, and several company colleagues.

Lawrence Winters texted Wild Child Girl back, saying she was fine and not to worry, and that she’d visit her when she had the time.

The Wild Child Girl was about to give birth, and Lawrence didn’t want to scare her and her child with her arm injuries.

As for Lady Three Billion, her messages were much longer.

During the three days of Lawrence’s illness, Lady Three Billion had sent her numerous WeChat messages and many phone calls.

Lawrence read through them, discovering that Lady Three Billion had even come to her house intending to check on her.

She likely learned about the situation from Ryan Sheldon, feeling immensely guilty.

But Gabrielle Winters and Nick Zeller didn’t let anyone up, simply saying there was a sick person at home and they weren’t receiving visitors.

Seeing Lawrence’s post on WeChat today, Lady Three Billion finally breathed a sigh of relief.

After liking Lawrence’s WeChat post, she commented as follows.

[Lady Three Billion]: Lawrence is the most beautiful little fairy, no objections! Lawrence, I’ve pledged to stick with you for life! I’m very grateful, and will thank you again in person!

Lawrence Winters replied with a smile in the WeChat comments: Lady Three Billion, talking about feelings involves money. How do you plan on addressing this with me? Smug.JPG.

Then she replied to her WeChat: Lady Three Billion, I’m not fully recovered yet, but don’t worry, it’s none of your doing; it was my own decision to deal with them. Don’t compliment yourself too much, you’re not that important. Hands on hips and laughing.

Lady Three Billion, reading Lawrence’s reply, understood that she didn’t want her to feel guilty, so she deliberately said that.

In truth, if Lady Three Billion hadn’t called her that night, Lawrence wouldn’t have gone to the bar to find her, nor would she have gotten so severely injured sticking up for her.

Since childhood, she had far more male than female friends because she was quite a ”green tea” type.

Her relationship with the Wild Child Girl was at best an acquaintance.

But Lawrence Winters was the only female friend who genuinely entered her heart, making her care for her more than herself.

Lady Three Billion sent a hugging bunny meme with a laugh.

After chatting with Lady Three Billion, Lawrence Winters went on to check Lucas Harlow’s comments.

[Lucas]: Lawrence is so beautiful, even actresses wouldn’t dare to take a picture with you. Drooling.JPG.

It was the first time Lawrence saw Lucas Harlow using this drooling emoji, and she was so surprised that she almost wanted to ask if someone else had taken his phone.

However, after checking Lucas Harlow’s private WeChat messages, she confirmed it was indeed him.

[Lucas]: Lawrence, how did you get a fever? I just asked Little Edward, and he was vague and wouldn’t tell the truth.

Lawrence Winters was pleased that Edward Foster hadn’t been spreading her business around and concluded he was a trustworthy friend.

While she was chatting with Lucas Harlow, Kenneth Osborne finally got through Nick Zeller’s phone.

Upon seeing Lawrence Winters’ WeChat post, he was shocked.

Three days without seeing her, and she had lost so much weight.

She had been feverish these past days?

How high must the fever have been to reach this state?

But seeing how lively she looked, perhaps his departure hadn’t affected her a bit.
