Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 520: Chapter 280: The Coveted Son-in-Law (Second Update)

”And you, since you were given away and adopted as a child, you lost the right to inherit the estate.”

Blake Leaf snapped back to reality and exclaimed joyfully, ”So, if we can prove that my parents left a testament before they died, then my sister’s claim of ’no testament’ is a lie!”

Spring Spencer nodded approvingly, ”Yes, exactly. And during my investigation, I found out that your sister’s husband, Nathan, was once your parents’ lawyer!”

Spring Spencer’s words reached this point, and Blake Leaf fully understood.

He stood up abruptly, his face turning beet red, and said angrily, ”I get it! They must have conspired together long ago! Maybe my parents’ deaths...”

”No, your parents’ deaths really were accidents, not caused by anyone,” Spring Spencer said calmly, ”I advise you not to take any unnecessary actions; it’s pointless. You should focus on finding the testament your parents made back then.”

”But what should I do?!” Blake Leaf, after his initial joy, slowly regained his composure and looked at Spring Spencer for help, ”Ah Spring, please help me! Help me, and once I get my inheritance back, we can be together!”

Spring Spencer was too embarrassed, wishing she could cover her face, but doing so would only seem more discourteous in front of everyone.

She forced a smile and said, ”I’ve already helped you a lot; I can’t help with the rest. You are the concerned party, and if you don’t step forward, others can’t act without justification...”

”Besides, I’ve already accumulated a lot of debts to people from digging into these old matters. I can’t take on any more debts.”

Blake Leaf showed undisguised disappointment.

He slumped back into his chair and later ate the hotpot without any sense of taste.

Spring Spencer, on the other hand, was eating happily and kept putting food onto Blake Leaf’s plate.

Blake Leaf frowned and sighed after a few bites, while Spring Spencer just smiled at him good-naturedly, looking quite forgiving.

Summer Spencer watched from start to finish, becoming more interested in Blake Leaf.

...

A few days later, Summer Spencer also sent people to City C to investigate the matter of Blake Leaf’s parents’ testament.

Thanks to the guidance from Spring Spencer’s investigation, Summer Spencer quickly found the law firm where Blake Leaf’s brother-in-law, Nathan, had worked, and successfully retrieved the testament that Blake Leaf’s parents had made back then!

As expected, the testament made by Blake Leaf’s parents left almost all their property to Blake Leaf, who was still an infant at the time!

Holding the copy of the testament, Summer Spencer smiled happily, ”No wonder! I said, who would leave all their estate to their daughter and then give away their son? It’s just too unfair!”

She immediately called Blake Leaf, saying, ”Blake Leaf, are you free recently? I have something to show you.”

Blake Leaf was very pleased to receive a call from Summer Spencer and agreed immediately.

This time, they did not meet in public, but in Summer Spencer’s apartment in Capital City.

It was Blake Leaf’s first time at Summer Spencer’s apartment. The location and decor were impeccable; though it wasn’t a large flat, for one person living in a three-bedroom house, it seemed extravagant.

”Have a seat.” Summer Spencer was very cordial, ”What would you like to drink? I have coffee, tea, juice, water, and soft drinks here.”

”Coffee is fine,” Blake Leaf smiled as he sat down, ”What good news do you have? You seem to be in high spirits!”

”Do I have any good news? If there is any, it’s your good news!” Summer Spencer smiled as she placed the copy of the testament in front of Blake Leaf, ”See that? A new generation real estate tycoon in City C is about to emerge...”

Blake Leaf looked at her in surprise, not yet knowing what it was.

But after picking it up and reading it, he was so overjoyed he almost fainted.

”Hahaha! It’s real! It’s indeed real! I knew heaven wouldn’t treat me like this!” Blake Leaf jumped up from the sofa excitedly.

Summer Spencer smiled at him and said, ”Don’t get too excited yet. This isn’t as simple as it seems. Your sister and brother-in-law planned this matter so many years ago; they certainly won’t be willing to give it all up just because of this testament.”

Blake Leaf was unconcerned, ”In our country, there’s a law. If I sue them, would they dare not comply?”

”Hehe.” Summer Spencer shook her head and made a chopping gesture with one hand, ”You don’t understand human nature. If they know you’ve found the testament, do you think they’d let you off easily? If they get rid of you, the testament would be worthless even if it exists.”

Blake Leaf suddenly froze.

He recalled his dark days before graduation while job hunting.

Every time he found a job, his sister would ruin it for him...

At that time, he didn’t know about the existence of this testament.

If they found out, he might genuinely fear for his life.

Blake Leaf, frustrated, held his head and sat back on the sofa angrily saying, ”How can they do this?! Is there really no way?!”

”There is, just depends on whether you’re willing.” Summer Spencer smiled at him, shifting her sitting position, ”Hey, you ever thought, if you recover all your inheritance, how much would your net worth be?”

Currently, the lands owned by Ride Wind Commercial Properties Co. in City C were left by Blake Leaf’s parents to their son.

The value of those lands now equals half the market price of the Spencer Group.

Summer Spencer is not one to let opportunities slip; besides, Blake Leaf is a man that Spring Spencer held in high regard, making him even more valuable in Summer Spencer’s eyes.

Having always looked up to Spring Spencer, everything Spring Spencer wanted was naturally good to Summer Spencer.

Whenever she could seize something from her, she never hesitated.

Blake Leaf understood Summer Spencer’s meaning, and his gaze towards her became heated.

In reality, between the two Spencer sisters, Spring Spencer would no longer inherit any family estate. In Blake Leaf’s eyes, she was already not comparable to Summer Spencer.

”Summer, if you’re willing, we can be together.” Blake Leaf boldly took her hand as he sat beside her.

Summer Spencer laughed, ”Is together all you want?”

She put down her juice, ”Let’s get married. If you marry into my family, I’ll help you reclaim your inheritance.”

Blake Leaf’s heart beat wildly once more.

What could be even more blissful than happiness arriving too fast?

It’s when happiness comes twice in a day!

Blake Leaf didn’t hesitate to embrace Summer Spencer, saying excitedly, ”Summer, I know you have feelings for me, right?”

”I’ve always liked you... but you seemed so untouchable, like clouds in the sky... I thought I’d never have the chance in this lifetime!”

”Thank you! Thank you for this opportunity! Let’s get married! Let’s do it right away!”

He knew, once he married Summer Spencer, not only would his life be safeguarded, he would also become the son-in-law of Cameron Spencer!

What’s wrong with marrying into her family?

Isn’t it known that the most popular online novel genre these days is about being a son-in-law?!

As someone who loved reading online fiction, Blake Leaf completely immersed himself in the role of a son-in-law protagonist and agreed to Summer Spencer’s terms without hesitation.

Indeed, it was his best choice.

Since Spring Spencer had already made it clear she wouldn’t continue helping him, and he didn’t have the ability to fight against his sister and brother-in-law alone.

Now that Summer Spencer was willing to help him, he couldn’t have asked for anything better.

And being a son-in-law in the Spencer family, that’s a position countless men dreamed of.

...

Summer Spencer kept her word.

Half a month later, Kenneth Osborne received an invitation card, which was for the wedding of Summer Spencer and Blake Leaf, sent personally by Cameron Spencer.

The invitation clearly stated that Blake Leaf was marrying into the family.

Looking at the words on the invitation card, Kenneth Osborne thought he must have read it wrong and took a while to process it.
