Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 470: Chapter 255: The Wedding Date

”Ah?! No way! Mom! It’s New Year’s Eve today!” Ryan Sheldon exclaimed, trying to get his mom to change her mind.

But Autumn Stetford smiled elegantly, showing no sign of relenting.

”Ryan, your father and I taught you from a young age that when heaven is about to bestow a great responsibility on someone, it first tests their resolve. It’s just one night without dinner, what does it matter if it’s New Year’s Eve?”

Autumn Stetford gently waved her hand, and two men came in and forcibly took Ryan away.

From the moment Autumn spoke until Ryan was taken away, Aiden Sheldon didn’t show any reaction.

Only after everyone had left did he nod and say to Autumn, ”A loving mother often raises a spoiled child. Luckily, you’re not a loving mother.”

Autumn laughed and said, ”Being too soft-hearted with our son would be like handing ourselves over to the enemy. I certainly won’t make a losing deal like that.”

Lucas Harlow watched from the side, dumbfounded, and couldn’t help but say, ”You two seem to be quite skilled at raising a son. Why are you so clueless when it comes to Betty?”

”Clueless?” Aiden didn’t say anything, but Autumn was the first to frown. She looked at Lucas coldly and said, ”Lucas, you’re my only brother, so I’ll forgive you this once. In the future, I don’t want to hear any accusations about how my husband and I are raising Betty.”

She walked over to sit next to Aiden, holding his hand, and softly said, ”Betty has been our treasure since the day she was born twenty years ago. We vowed to give her the best life and make her a little princess that everyone envies.”

Aiden smiled and nodded. He said to Lucas blandly, ”Betty is the most precious daughter to us. How we raise her is our business. If you can’t accept that, you can look away.”

There was nothing wrong with that statement.

Ruby Sheldon is Aiden and Autumn’s biological daughter, while Lucas Harlow is just Autumn’s half-brother.

What right does he have to tell Aiden and Autumn how to raise their daughter?

If Lawrence Winters hadn’t been affected, Lucas probably wouldn’t have thought there was anything wrong with how the Sheldon couple was raising their daughter.

Because given the Sheldon’s wealth and status, even if Ruby was an illiterate fool, they could ensure she lived a prosperous life. This is no exaggeration.

At this, Richard Stetford waved Lucas over, ”Lucas, come on over. Dinner’s about to be served. Your brother-in-law and sister agreed with you, so don’t make a fuss.”

Lucas pursed his lips, wanting to leave then and there.

But it was the first time in many years that the Sheldon family had gathered their extended family for New Year’s Eve dinner. If he left, it would be too disrespectful to his sister.

After thinking it over, he sent a WeChat message to Lawrence Winters: Lawrence, send me your bank account number. The Sheldon family agreed to compensate you.

Lawrence Winters was also sitting at home at that time, having New Year’s Eve dinner with Gabrielle Winters, Nick Zeller, Kenneth Osborne, and the old Daoist.

This year’s dinner was entirely prepared by the old Daoist, featuring an array of fresh seafood and river delicacies, richly flavored meat dishes, and many wild foods she rarely ate.

With top-notch ingredients and the old Daoist’s exceptional cooking skills, Lawrence didn’t want to miss any of the dishes.

She was happily eating when she suddenly noticed a notification on her phone out of the corner of her eye.

Glancing at it, she found it was a WeChat message from Lucas Harlow.

He asked her to send her bank account number, saying that the Sheldon family would compensate her.

Lawrence Winters bit the tip of her chopsticks and hesitated for a moment before replying: No need, I’m afraid keeping this money would be risky. Mr. Sheldon has quite a temper, and I don’t dare provoke him again.

The incident with Aiden Sheldon indeed made Lawrence more cautious.

Seeing Lawrence reply so quickly, Lucas Harlow breathed a sigh of relief and continued chatting with her.

[Lucas Harlow]: Lawrence, I’ve already made him promise, and his wife agreed, so they agreed to compensate you. Plus, Ryan Sheldon has been punished to kneel in the ancestral hall and can’t have dinner tonight.

[Lawrence Winters]: No way?! Where do the Sheldons come from? They even have an ancestral hall?!

[Lucas Harlow]: ...What exactly are you focusing on? Just send me your bank account number.

[Lawrence Winters]: Really, there’s no need, Mr. Sheldon’s too scary. I’m really afraid. Humble.JPG.

[Lucas Harlow]: Don’t worry, he’s my brother-in-law. If I say he won’t pursue it, he won’t. They are reasonable people, just a bit unconventional when it comes to raising their children.

[Lawrence Winters]: Unconventional is an understatement, it’s like they’re galaxies apart! Most people favor sons over daughters, but they seem to favor daughters over sons?
