Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 456: Chapter 248: Let the Show Begin (First Update)

The police officers looked at him as if he were an alien and sneered, ”Just got back from abroad, huh? Want us to say it again: ’You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in court’?”

Ryan Sheldon: ”...”

Isn’t that right though?

But he wasn’t clueless, just unfamiliar with the situation.

Seeing the police officers’ expressions, he realized he probably didn’t understand the situation fully.

He dared not say anything more, silently took out his international driver’s license, rolled down the window, and handed it over.

The officer registered his license and said, ”We’ve received reports that you were behaving suspiciously on the highway, so we must take you back to the station for questioning.”

Ryan Sheldon: ”???

It took every ounce of patience and self-control he had not to jump up and protest his innocence.

Ryan Sheldon looked insulted and said in a low voice, ”Let me call my lawyer to inform them of the change in location.”

The officer waved a hand, letting him make the call.

Ryan Sheldon asked for the station’s address and sent it to Aiden Sheldon.

Aiden Sheldon then passed it on to Lucas Harlow.

Lucas Harlow’s car was already halfway there, but upon realizing the address had changed, he had to find a new route.

Meanwhile, several police cars escorted Ryan Sheldon and Lawrence Winters’ cars, taking them both to the nearby police station.

For the first time, Lawrence Winters drove down a major road surrounded by police cars, finding it incredibly novel.

She looked around, wishing she had a drone to capture the grandiose scene.

Upon reaching the station entrance, she felt a bit reluctant to leave.

Unable to resist, she took out an extra-long selfie stick from the car and extended it out the window to capture the formidable escort of police cars.

Just then, as Ryan Sheldon got out of the car, several officers surrounded him and put handcuffs on him.

Lawrence Winters captured this scene perfectly.

A few female officers saw the selfie stick extending from Lawrence Winters’ car and couldn’t help but laugh.

However, they didn’t stop her.

Because they were still at the station entrance, and there were many surveillance cameras around, they weren’t worried about her capturing anything inappropriate.

When Lawrence Winters got out of the car, several female officers immediately surrounded her and escorted her inside the police station.

Ryan Sheldon was already sitting inside. When he saw Lawrence Winters enter, he couldn’t help but give a cold laugh, ”I harassed you? You ought to find out who I am first! Do I need to harass you?! With just a wave of my hand, women willing to be with me would line up all the way from home to abroad, enough to fill the entire ocean!”

Lawrence Winters nearly burst out laughing but maintained a serious expression, ”Sir, even when bragging, one should respect science.”

”On the planet we live on, seventy percent is covered by oceans. With a global population of 7.5 billion, we only inhabit thirty percent of the land.”

”So even if every woman in the world wanted to be with you, if they held hands and jumped into the oceans, they wouldn’t even fill a small trench—let alone an entire ocean.”

”I won’t comment on how attractive you are to women, but in terms of IQ alone, you’re below average.”

”I don’t usually give a second glance to people less intelligent than I am, so your accusation is baseless.”

”Also, I reported that you threatened my life, not harassment. Harassment is minor; I disagree with you downplaying my report.”

”And those four words, ’Great ambition, poor talent,’ are for you—no need to thank me, as I’m a good citizen who helps others without expecting recognition.”

Ryan Sheldon was stunned by Lawrence Winters’ words. He understood every sentence and their combined meaning, but his entire face felt hot.

It was like when he got drunk and bet in college, lost everything, even his last pair of pants, and finally had to use a cardboard box to cover himself while fleeing back to the dorm from the university field.

No, it was a hundred times more humiliating, more like when someone pulled away that cardboard box while he was running across the field, leaving him wishing he could dig a hole and hide.

The female officers taking notes nearby were also about to burst into laughter.

They didn’t dare to laugh out loud, keeping their heads down, shoulders shaking, clearly suppressing laughter.

No matter how good Ryan Sheldon’s upbringing was, he couldn’t maintain his outward composure.

His family’s so-called manners had always been based on normal circumstances.
