Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 198: Chapter 117: Smiling on the Outside, Cursing on the Inside (Third Update)

”What kind of test is this? Forgive my lack of knowledge, but I can’t figure it out.” Kenneth Osborne was a bit uneasy too.

Unconsciously, he also thought of the phone call from Lawrence Winters earlier; she could already sense he might be in trouble...

Could this Little Heavenly Master really have some skills?

Francis Johnson didn’t say another word as he drove to a high-tech industrial park not far from Metropolitan North University.

This place wasn’t as upscale as the CBD, but it was full of life, with young people around Kenneth Osborne’s age everywhere.

They came from all over to chase their dreams here.

Kenneth Osborne originally planned to take out a loan to buy an apartment in Capital City and set up the company in his home, solving both office and living space issues.

But after seeing this industrial park, he felt he should rent an office here as a formal company location.

A start-up should have the look of a start-up.

Francis Johnson parked the car in the underground parking lot of a high-rise building and took the elevator with him up to the eighteenth floor.

There were many companies here, and the one Francis Johnson walked into had no SSA signs, just a name: Network Security Co., Ltd.

A very ordinary name.

Kenneth Osborne was even more surprised but quickly calmed down, just wanting to quietly watch what this man named ”Francis Johnson” would do.

Francis Johnson swiped a card at the door and went inside with him.

The company’s space was very small, with only two rooms, front and back.

The front was just a reception, with no one there.

The back was Francis Johnson’s office.

He gestured for Kenneth Osborne to come in, picked up a remote, and closed the outer company door, then shut the office door.

Kenneth Osborne felt slightly uneasy and quietly took out his phone, intending to continue recording video and audio.

Francis Johnson noticed his actions and smiled, saying, ”Don’t bother, your phone isn’t a mystery to me.”

Kenneth Osborne pursed his lips and said calmly, ”Are you admitting you hacked into my phone?”

Francis Johnson chuckled, shook his head, and said, ”What if I say I didn’t? Would you believe me?”

”But didn’t you just admit it?”

”What did I admit?”

”You said my phone isn’t a mystery to you.”

”Yes, I only said that. What I meant is that I have the skills and means, but I didn’t say I’ve actually done anything.” Francis Johnson smiled and pointed at his phone, ”See for yourself. You’re a computer science graduate; you should be able to tell if someone hacked your phone.”

Kenneth Osborne: ”...”

He really opened his phone and checked it carefully.

He had indeed installed some small programs on his phone, both hacking and anti-hacking programs.

Opening those anti-hacking programs, he found no trace of anyone hacking his phone.

Of course, maybe the other party was extraordinarily skilled, to the point where he couldn’t detect it at all.

But if they were that skilled, Kenneth Osborne believed they wouldn’t be an ordinary person.

Such a person would surely have special privileges, so after figuring it out, he didn’t mind and smiled, saying, ”...Since you didn’t hack into my phone, why do you know I was recording too?”

”I guessed.” Francis Johnson tucked his hands into his pockets and leaned back in his chair.

Across the desk, he carefully observed every move of Kenneth Osborne and all his facial micro-expressions.

With his skills, watching Kenneth Osborne was like looking at a blank sheet of paper; all his thoughts were written in his micro-expressions and every move.

”You can even guess that?” Kenneth Osborne raised an eyebrow, ”Fine, let’s say you guessed about me, what about Director Cen? Did you really hack into her phone?”

Francis Johnson found it even more amusing, ”Of course not. Why would I do something illegal?”

”Then how did you get that recording? Did she send it to you herself?” Kenneth Osborne was even more curious.

Francis Johnson laughed heartily and gave him a thumbs-up, ”Right! Isn’t that what she did, sent it herself!”

Kenneth Osborne: ”...”

He seemed to understand, tentatively saying, ”...Did you use phishing software?”

”I didn’t use anything.” Francis Johnson tilted his head slightly, slyly saying, ”I just spent some money to advertise my company. She mistakenly clicked on an ad link and sent her call recordings to me. It’s not my fault, right?”
