Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 153: Chapter 95: I Have So Much to Say to You (Third Update)

Blake Leaf suddenly widened his eyes, staring at the document bag in front of him, completely at a loss.

His parents always claimed he was their biological child and didn’t even know who left him at their doorstep. How could there be formal adoption papers?!

Blake Leaf incredulously picked up the document bag, pulling out a few legal documents.

He hurriedly skimmed through them, instinctively retorting, ”This can’t be true. I was left at my adoptive parents’ doorstep, how could there be adoption documents? They don’t even know who left me there!”

Nick Zeller looked at him with pity, and even reached out to pat his shoulder, ”They just didn’t want to lose you. Actually, they knew, from the very beginning.”

”Was it you who gave me to them for adoption?!” Blake Leaf suddenly looked up, ”Why would you do that?! Even if you wanted to send me for adoption, why not find a better family?!”

Nick Zeller regretfully withdrew his hand, shook his head, and said, ”At the time, I was young too, hadn’t started working, and had no way to support you. So I painstakingly chose this family for you.”

”Think about it, if it weren’t for such a family, how would ordinary people adopt someone else’s child? With technology so advanced now, even if the wife couldn’t conceive, IVF technology is quite mature...”

Nick Zeller spoke tactfully, ”And over the years, they’ve treated you pretty well, haven’t they? I’ve seen that they pamper you quite a bit. Plus, I gave them a sum of money, enough to raise you.”

Blake Leaf looked at those documents, then at Nick Zeller, unsure of whom to trust.

When he sought his adoptive parents for answers about his origins during the New Year, his adoptive parents indeed behaved as if the world was collapsing, holding him and sobbing for half the night.

Did they truly not tell the truth back then?

Then are his three years of searching nothing but a joke?

Blake Leaf was stunned by this formal adoption document, his mind in a haze, unable to think straight.

Seeing the effect achieved, Nick Zeller pulled out his phone and said, ”What’s your phone number? Let’s add each other on WeChat.”

Blake Leaf silently took out his phone and exchanged numbers with Nick Zeller, also adding him on WeChat.

Nick Zeller immediately transferred ten thousand yuan to him, saying, ”Legally, you’re no longer a Sommers Family member, but you’re still my blood brother. Consider this a small token, a memento of our sibling reunion.”

Blake Leaf indeed had used up almost all his savings from working part-time during this search for his family.

Being short on money, he desperately needed this sum to tide him over the current difficulties.

Without this ten thousand yuan, he would even have to borrow money for a ticket back to Capital City.

”Thank you. Once I find a job, I’ll pay you back.” Blake Leaf viewed this money as a loan.

”No need to be polite with me.” Nick Zeller nodded, stood up, ”I have to get back to work now, what about you? Are you staying a few more days, or going back to school?”

Then he added, seemingly curious, ”Are you really a journalism student at Yan University?”

Blake Leaf forced a smile, ”I am a Yan University student, but not in journalism. I’m in the computer science department, graduating this July.”

”Oh, Yan University’s computer science department? I’ve heard that’s even harder to get into than the journalism department! You’re really amazing!” Nick Zeller patted his shoulder encouragingly, ”Keep it up!”

With that, he turned and went upstairs.

Blake Leaf didn’t want to stay in this unfamiliar place for now, so he sat there for a while and bought a ticket for the next flight back to Capital City.

Before boarding the plane, Blake Leaf recounted all these events in detail to Sister Three Billion on WeChat.

Sister Three Billion was rendered speechless by this unexpected turn of events.

She forwarded Blake Leaf’s messages to Lawrence Winters, then said with a sigh: Who would’ve thought, once the parents passed away, the eldest sister would immediately send the brother off for adoption, and to such a family.

Lawrence Winters was also speechless, replying: They even prepared adoption papers, it’s clear they never intended to recognize this brother.

Sister Three Billion paused, ultimately calling Lawrence Winters: ”Lawrence, what do you mean? Are there problems with the adoption papers? Were they made later?”

Lawrence Winters had traveled far and wide with Uncle Nick Zeller, seeing many cases like this, and said: ”Exactly, didn’t Blake Leaf say that his adoptive parents didn’t even know who left him at their doorstep? If they didn’t even know that, who signed the adoption agreement with them?”

”...But Nick Zeller’s words also make sense. What if it was Blake Leaf’s adoptive parents who lied deliberately because they didn’t want to lose him?”
