Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 181: Chapter 109: I’ll Share Half My Money with You (Part 23)_3

He jumped up, standing at the door, unable to decide whether to come in or not: ”...What are you guys doing?”

Lawrence Winters was startled, quickly let go of Kenneth Osborne’s hand, and turned around to look at Joyce Shaw, surprised: ”Joyce, you actually left Wild Girl alone to run back to the dorm?”

”Tch, who do you think I’m doing this for?” He glanced at Kenneth Osborne’s expression, realizing he misunderstood, and cheerfully walked in, closing the door behind him, asking, ”Dear sister Lawrence, what brings you here today?”

”I just came to check on Ken. Look, he just turned down such a big offer, it pains me to see it...” Lawrence Winters frowned, clutching her chest, as if that offer was hers.

Joyce Shaw quickly nodded, also sat down, saying, ”I came back for this reason too. — Ken, what are you thinking? You’re not just giving up a million-dollar salary, you know?”

”Oh? What else?” Lawrence Winters was curious.

”Household registration!” Joyce Shaw was almost furious, patting Kenneth Osborne’s shoulder, ”I got their offer too, didn’t we agree to work there together, gain some experience for a few years, then resign together to start our own company? I’ve even signed the agreement!”

Only then did Lawrence Winters understand, ”...Isn’t Spencer Group a private company? They help with household registration?”

”Of course! Don’t you know how hard it is to get a Capital City household registration?”

”I know...” Lawrence Winters looked up at Kenneth Osborne, feeling even more sorry for him, ”Ken, are you really not going to reconsider?”

Joyce Shaw also persuaded, ”Spencer Group may have wronged dear sister Lawrence, but they apologized and made another offer. You both could go, and she could even request to be transferred to our company, wouldn’t that be great?”

Kenneth Osborne shook his head, saying softly, ”That kind of company only apologizes when forced to. And the harm done to Nora was too great, I can’t tolerate it.”

Joyce Shaw looked at him, then at the moved expression on Lawrence Winters’s face, and felt like he was blind himself.

These are two blind people moved by their own emotions...

Joyce Shaw sighed, got up, grabbed a bottle of mineral water, and drank it, saying, ”Ken, if you really decide not to go to Spencer Group, I will wish you well. But I... I can’t start a business with you right now.”

”I understand.” Kenneth Osborne patted his shoulder, ”You go work hard at Spencer Group’s AI company. I think they have genuine intent and investment in that field, so it’s likely to yield results.”

”As for me, it’s truly for personal reasons. Once I have an aversion towards them, it’s hard to work together in the future, so I won’t go.”

Seeing he had already made up his mind, and it didn’t seem like a spur-of-the-moment decision, Joyce Shaw didn’t persuade further and said, ”Ken, as long as you know what you’re doing, that’s fine. I won’t interrupt your chat with dear sister Lawrence, I’ll take my leave.”

He came and left like the wind, clapping his hands, leaving no trace behind.

Lawrence Winters thought of what Joyce Shaw just said and felt even heavier, ”Ken, you’re giving up Capital City household registration just like that?”

Giving up a million-dollar salary is one thing, but Capital City household registration is something money can’t buy!

”How could I give up?” Kenneth Osborne suddenly laughed, ”You should be worrying about yourself. I’m starting a high-tech venture company, we’ll have special considerations for household registration.”

”Really?”

”Yeah, check it yourself. High-tech startups, if they meet national technical standards and create a certain number of jobs, can prioritize household registration issues.”

Kenneth Osborne pulled out the Capital City’s household registration management regulations for Lawrence Winters to see and said, ”I’ve applied for numerous patents over the past three years. One even won an international award, so the standard has long been met.”

Lawrence Winters admired him even more, ”You’re amazing... you think everything through thoroughly, choose your battles wisely, but you’ll never lose out! — I like this Ken!”

”Do you really like me?” Kenneth Osborne’s voice suddenly softened, slowly leaning towards her, almost touching her face.

Seeing a stunningly handsome face suddenly so close, Lawrence Winters was momentarily stunned, then reached out to push Kenneth Osborne’s face away, laughing, ”Ken, I’ve always liked you! Like a friend, like the feeling with a bestie!”

Kenneth Osborne: Hmph!

He pinched Lawrence Winters’s face with his backhand, this time a bit hard, leaving a red mark before letting go.

Then he saw only the left side had a red mark, couldn’t resist pinching the same spot on the right side until he made a symmetrical red mark.
