Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 195: Chapter 115: This Man Is Poisonous (First Update)

”Remember, take the best conditions you can propose in your mind and multiply them by 2 before you bring them up. If the conditions are worse than that, the other party won’t pay attention to you.” Spring Spencer reminded her a few more times before getting into her Rolls-Royce Phantom without haste.

Summer Spencer gritted her teeth, thinking, is it really necessary to propose such good conditions?

However, she glanced at her own car, which was just a Mercedes-Benz G-Class, nowhere near her counterpart’s Rolls-Royce Phantom. Even if she was resentful, she had to lower her head.

The driver in the car was one of her most trusted confidants, a relative who had watched her grow up.

As he started the car, he looked at the distant Rolls-Royce Phantom with admiration and said, ”Miss, you’re getting more and more remarkable. Miss Summer, do you think being in the upper echelons of the group is particularly good at training people?”

Summer Spencer snorted, ”Isn’t that obvious? She’s been back less than two years and already became the CFO of the entire group. Over the years, she’s experienced much more than I have; she’s got to have some promise, right?”

”You’re right. A few years ago, when the young miss was studying abroad, she would come back every winter and summer vacation, and it was always me picking her up from the airport. Back then, she didn’t have such a presence.”

This reminded Summer Spencer of her grievance with her mother.

All because her mother had short-sighted ideas, suggesting that she find someone to marry in the circle of white aristocrats abroad, thinking it would allow her to outshine her sister and brother in the future.

So, she mingled in the white aristocrat circle for a few years, never returning home for holidays, fully immersing herself in that group, only to find out that the families with real heritage in the white aristocrats had no intention of marrying her.

The white men willing to marry her didn’t have as much family heritage as the Spencer Family, so why should she elevate those people?

When she finally understood this, and wanted to focus on domestic affairs, she realized her sister had unknowingly won over their father’s favor.

If only her sister were male, the position of the Spencer Family heir would never have gone to her older brother.

In Summer Spencer’s eyes, her sister Spring Spencer was much more capable than her brother Justus Spencer.

The driver heard her grumble and smiled, reminding her, ”Miss Summer, actually, the young master has a very good reputation among the older board members, and the new direction he’s leading the Spencer Group in recent years is very promising.”

At this point, Summer Spencer thought of one of the new directions their company wanted to transform into — artificial intelligence.

The real estate industry was clearly entering a bottleneck period, with profits sharply declining, and bank loans becoming increasingly tight, along with restrictions on property speculation severely shrinking the profit margins for real estate developers.

Therefore, these real estate companies were all searching for new investment directions and profit growth points.

They had opened many high-tech industry companies in the past two years, but without a technical leader, these ventures were unlikely to succeed.

Kenneth Osborne, besides his own abilities, also had very useful patents in his hands.

The Spencer Group was not yet considering seeking patent application authorization from the Lothrop Corporation, because while other companies only wanted money for patent authorization, the Lothrop Corporation’s patents were life-threatening.

Experience had taught them that companies seeking patent authorization from the Lothrop Corporation ended up being absorbed by them in a few years.

But the Spencer Group only wanted to obtain the greatest benefits at the smallest cost and didn’t want to let the Lothrop Corporation meddle in the company’s operations.

So they could only sift through talent at universities, hoping to find gold.

Kenneth Osborne was the first gold the Spencer Group’s human resources department, where Summer Spencer was, found for their high-tech artificial intelligence industry.

But now, this first gold didn’t want to fall into their pockets. How could this be acceptable?

This was akin to cutting off someone’s financial path, as serious as killing one’s parents!

Summer Spencer took out her phone and began to call Kenneth Osborne.

This phone number, of course, was obtained from Kenneth Osborne’s resume.

It took her a full thirty minutes, until her car was parked in front of the Metropolitan North University graduate dormitory building, to finally get through to Kenneth Osborne’s phone.

Summer Spencer immediately said, ”Hello, is this Mr. Kenneth Osborne? I’m Summer Spencer from the Spencer Group. I’ve come today specifically to discuss that contract with you, and I’m already downstairs at your dormitory.”

Kenneth Osborne was inclined to refuse, but he didn’t expect Summer Spencer to find her way to the school.

He craned his neck to look outside the window and indeed saw a Mercedes-Benz G-Class parked in front of the dormitory entrance.

Is that Summer Spencer’s car?

Kenneth Osborne didn’t want to blow this matter out of proportion, so he said, ”Let’s talk at the café around the corner from our dormitory area. You go ahead first, I’ll be there shortly.”
