Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Che Huan asked in a low voice, ”Who are you?”

——”Who I am doesn’t matter. You don’t need to know.”

”It might take me a bit longer to get there, wait for me. I’ll call you again when I arrive at Julong Bay.”

Che Huan said softly, and as soon as her words fell, the other party had already hung up the phone.

Huo Jinxue came back to her senses, ”Second sister-in-law, who was that?”

Che Huan looked at Huo Jinxue and shook her head, ”Don’t know who it was.”

”So——are you going to Julong Bay?”

Huo Jinxue looked at Che Huan. For some reason, she thought of Gu Jizhou! But she quickly felt it was unlikely, considering Gu Jizhou was still in detention!

Che Huan did not answer but asked, ”Have you had breakfast?”

”Not yet.” Huo Jinxue shook her head. Her second brother had told her to wait and eat with the second sister-in-law, how could she dare to eat first?

She looked at Che Huan with some confusion. For so many years, there had been many women who couldn’t stop thinking about her second brother after seeing him once, from three years old to women in their thirties and forties, both plump and slim, of all ages, including stunningly beautiful ones. Che Huan wasn’t the most outstanding among them, and she had been married to Gu Jizhou. She wondered what her second brother saw in her?

Seeing Huo Jinxue staring at her in a daze, Che Huan said softly, ”Then let’s have breakfast together.”

Huo Jinxue came to her senses with an ”Oh” sound, picked up the phone from the ground, and looked at it with distress. She would have to buy a new phone! She’d have to live frugally in the future!

After breakfast, Che Huan didn’t mention going to Julong Bay and brought three portions to the hospital. Looking at Uncle Lu, she said, ”Let’s go to the hospital.”

Huo Jinxue kept glancing at Che Huan. Wasn’t she supposed to go to Julong Bay?

Che Huan, noticing Huo Jinxue looking at her, did not explain. She sat in the back seat and glanced at her phone.

Half an hour later, they arrived at the hospital. Including the time for breakfast at home, more than an hour had passed.

Inside the elevator, Che Huan handed two breakfasts to Huo Jinxue, ”You go up first. I’ll come up and have a look in a bit.”

Huo Jinxue took the breakfasts and nodded.

Che Huan pressed the buttons for the eighth and ninth floors. On reaching the eighth floor, she got out and headed straight to Wen Ru’s ward. As she entered, she saw Huo Jinbei lying on the sofa, holding his phone, apparently engrossed in whatever he was looking at.

Upon hearing some noise, Huo Jinbei looked towards the door, and seeing Che Huan, he quickly sat up, ”Second sister-in-law.”

Che Huan nodded and looked towards the direction of the ward; the door was closed tight. It seemed that Huo’s mother had gone downstairs?

Walking over, she knocked on the door gently. Hearing an invitation to enter, she pushed the door open and saw, as expected, her mother and Huo’s mother chatting happily.

Che Huan looked at Zhong Qin, ”Auntie——”

Wen Ru smiled, ”Still calling me auntie?”

Che Huan bit her lip, her face reddening, as she looked at Zhong Qin. ”Mom,” she managed to say, though not as smoothly as Huo Jinnan would have.

Zhong Qin laughed and looked at Wen Ru, ”Look how bashful you’ve made Huanhuan.”

She turned to Che Huan, ”It’s fine, whatever you call me is the same.”

Che Huan was about to speak when her phone rang.

She glanced at it, it was the same number. She didn’t answer but turned her phone to silent mode and, looking at Zhong Qin with a flushed face, said, ”Mom, Jinxue has taken breakfast upstairs, she should be down shortly.”

No sooner had she spoken than heat flushed her face. ”I’m going to the restroom for a moment.”

She hurriedly fled the scene.

Wen Ru shook her head with a smile, looking at Zhong Qin, ”This child, she’s always been shy, but she’s quite stubborn.”

Zhong Qin waited until Che Huan was out of earshot and lowered her voice, ”Xiaoru, do you really have no plan to tell Huanhuan about her biological father’s identity?”
