Daddy Always Gets Jealous

”...”

Wen Ru remained silent, her eyes turning redder, and she was silent for a long time.

Huo Jinyun looked at her, her smile growing wider, ”What’s the matter, did I touch a nerve? Still thinking of coming to Hong Kong to rekindle old flames? Do you want me to call him over for you?”

Wen Ru’s gaze suddenly sharpened like a knife as she looked at Huo Jinyun, ”I came here only to see how well you’re doing now. Having seen that you’re doing so well, I can rest assured.”

She smiled, her voice getting softer.

But her words were like a knife, piercing straight through Huo Jinyun’s heart.

Huo Jinyun thought of last night and raised her hand in anger, but remembering Wen Ru’s previous words, her arm hung mid-air, never coming down.

She remembered how Wen Ru once attempted suicide by slitting her wrists, almost dragging her into it!

Fearing history might repeat itself, her arm came down in the air.

She stood there, staring at Wen Ru, having planned to deal with this wretch today, only to find there was no way to handle Wen Ru.

”I’ll consider it an act of charity, letting you off this time. But you must leave Hong Kong within three days.”

Wen Ru’s lips curved into a smile as she looked at Huo Jinyun, ”Yes, Miss Huo looks like a kind person indeed.”

Huo Jinyun clenched her teeth in frustration, unable to vent her anger, her chest hurting with repression, ”Have you forgotten what happened to the Wen Family? Don’t you care about your brother? Be sensible and take your daughter back to Li City.”

”Yes, I’ve forgotten, and I don’t care anymore. Times change, I just want to see if the Huo Family is still the Huo Family of the past, if Miss Huo is still the Miss Huo of the past, go ahead with whatever you have up your sleeve against them, I’ll just lie here and watch.”

Wen Ru spoke calmly, a faint smile on her face, smooth as a petal on water.

Huo Jinyun’s eyes widened as she stared at Wen Ru, thinking of how Qin Moting, even unable to remember Wen Ru, couldn’t stop thinking about her. Her heart burned with increasing hatred and nowhere to unleash it, she pushed over the IV stand and began smashing things.

Wen Ru lay on the hospital bed watching, then closed her eyes, letting Huo Jinyun wreak havoc.

...

Huo Jinnan and Che Huan had just arrived at the door when they heard the commotion inside.

Chen Fang stood anxiously at the door, her voice losing its tune, ”Mr. Huo, Miss Che, the door is locked from the inside.”

Hearing this, Che Huan’s face paled slightly, anxiety written across her face, her breathing also tightened.

Now, Huo Jinyun likely hated her to the extreme, who knew what she would do to her mother.

Huo Jinnan’s thin lips pressed coldly as he stepped forward, resting his hand on the door lock and jiggling it a few times until the door banged open.

Che Huan then remembered he could unlock doors with his hands, something she had forgotten in her panic!

Huo Jinyun had just lifted her bag when she heard the noise at the door, turned her head towards the entrance, and saw Huo Jinnan and Che Huan come in, freezing in place.

Huo Jinnan stepped forward, grabbed Huo Jinyun’s wrist, and dragged her out of the ward, releasing her abruptly, ”Huo Jinyun, what are you doing here?”

Huo Jinyun, in her high heels, staggered and fell to the ground with a shriek, ”Huo Jinnan!”

Huo Jinnan lit a cigarette, took a deep drag, and stared into space, ”There’s video surveillance in the ward. I’ll have someone hand it over to the police.”

”...”

Huo Jinyun crawled on the ground, turning her head to the dark shadow above, ”You, Huo Jinnan, you...”

”Ungrateful.”

Huo Jinnan’s cold voice sounded; seeing Shen Mubai come in, his gaze fell on him, ”Calculate the damage, let Huo Jinyun pay for it before she leaves.”
