**

One day and one night later—

The Two-Headed Flame Spirit Serpent finally submitted.

At this moment, its already weakened aura was now barely hanging on, almost at the brink of death.

If not for half of its body being submerged in the magma, helping it retain some warmth and vitality, it would likely have perished by now.

Its four serpent eyes stared at the two tiny humans before it, filled with fear, submission, and even a hint of flattery...

An entire day and night!

These two cruel humans had tortured it relentlessly for a full day and night!

Who could understand its pain?

A serpent may be slain, but it must not be humiliated!

I would rather die!

”Drop your soul defenses and let me place a restriction on you,” Wei Yang said, giving it a light kick.

The Two-Headed Flame Spirit Serpent’s body trembled.

A moment later, it obediently complied, allowing Wei Yang to imprint a restriction deep within its soul.

With just a single thought, Wei Yang could detonate the restriction and take its life at any moment.

Beside him, Ye Xian’er also waved her hand, sending a grayish-white strand of Dou Qi into the serpent’s body, embedding it within its heart.

With both physical and soul restraints in place, Wei Yang finally felt reassured.

He couldn’t afford to be careless—not when they were about to venture deep into the magma. If something unexpected happened, it would be far from amusing.

”Go into the magma and recover,” Wei Yang said, grabbing the serpent and tossing it into the magma below.

Right now, it was too weak to guide them properly. It needed time to regain its strength first.

”Xian’er, you should start as well—absorb the fire poison to transform your Dou Qi attributes.”

”Mm.”

With that, the two of them sat down on the temporary platform they had carved out, each beginning their own cultivation.

Half a Month Later

Boom!

A slender, gray-white palm imprint slammed onto the surface of the magma lake, sending waves of molten rock splashing into the air.

Not far away, the Two-Headed Flame Spirit Serpent, now mostly recovered and soaking quietly in the magma, instinctively shrank its head back at the sight. Its tail flicked, and it swam a little further away.

This tiny human woman... seems to have grown stronger again...

Ye Xian’er flicked her fingers, sending spinning strands of gray-white Dou Qi shooting into the magma. Each impact caused small splashes to ripple across the surface.

Blazing Fire Pierce!

She seemed to be having fun experimenting with her newly transformed fire-poison Dou Qi.

”Have you completed the transformation?” Wei Yang asked, opening his eyes. He had broken through to a Two-Star Dou Ling not long ago.

”Mm!” Ye Xian’er nodded excitedly, raising her palms. Gray-white Dou Qi flickered like two dancing flames in her hands.

If before, this gray-white Dou Qi had an eerie, chilling presence, now it carried an intense, fiery heat.

”How does it feel?” Wei Yang asked with concern.

He carefully examined her aura—she was still at the One-Star Da Dou Shi level, but her entire presence had changed. There was now a distinct heat radiating from her.

”Hmm... it feels great!” Ye Xian’er tilted her head, thinking for a moment. ”Before, staying in this place felt a bit suffocating. But now, that pressure is completely gone. It actually feels comfortable, like soaking in a hot bath.”

”That’s good,” Wei Yang said, finally at ease.

This proved that her Dou Qi had successfully transformed through the absorption of fire poison, granting her a fire-poison attribute.

Previously, it had only been a theory—an untested idea. He hadn’t been certain it would work.

But now, the results were clear. Xian’er had successfully accomplished it.

In the future, her Woeful Poison Body, which was no longer restrained by fire attributes, would become even more terrifying.

”Well done,” Wei Yang said with a smile, nodding approvingly.

Hearing Wei Yang’s praise, Ye Xian’er beamed with satisfaction. ”From now on, I have fire attributes just like you, Brother Yang. No matter where you go, I won’t be a burden anymore!”

”Silly girl.” Wei Yang chuckled, ruffling her small head.

—

Two days later, after Ye Xian’er had fully adapted to her new Dou Qi—

”The time has come.”

Wei Yang stood up and called out toward the two-headed Fire Spirit Snake, which was still soaking in the magma. ”Get over here. Time to work.”

Hearing Wei Yang’s voice, the massive snake lifted both of its heads, flicked its tail, and slowly swam toward them.

After this period of recovery, its spirit and aura were still somewhat sluggish, but its physical injuries had mostly healed.

As expected of a magical beast born and raised in magma, it recovered rapidly in this environment.

Although Wei Yang had seriously injured it before, he was only at the Dou Ling level and was also fire-attributed. Their battle had been intense, and while the two-headed Fire Spirit Snake had suffered heavy injuries, its foundation remained intact.

Thus, its recovery wasn’t too difficult. Judging by its current state, it would likely be fully healed in another two or three months.

”Take us down to find the Heavenly Flame,” Wei Yang ordered. ”I know you understand me, and I know you know where it is.”

He fixed his gaze on the snake’s eyes. ”Don’t try any tricks. Even if something happens to us, you’ll suffer a fate worse than death.”

The two-headed Fire Spirit Snake’s four pupils contracted. A submissive, almost fawning look flashed through its eyes, and both heads nodded in agreement.

Seeing it behave obediently, Wei Yang’s expression softened, and he spoke in a gentler tone. ”I’m not unreasonable. If you help us obtain the Heavenly Flame, I’ll grant you freedom when we leave.”

Hearing this, the two-headed Fire Spirit Snake nodded again, anticipation flickering in its gaze.

Wei Yang smiled. Carrying Ye Xian’er in his arms, he leaped onto one of the snake’s heads and sat down cross-legged.

A layer of Dou Qi formed around his body as a protective barrier. Then, he patted the snake’s head and commanded, ”Let’s go.”

Hiss~

The two-headed Fire Spirit Snake let out a low hiss before plunging into the magma with the two of them on its back.

—

A World of Magma

As they dove deeper, Wei Yang and Ye Xian’er felt the surrounding temperature growing more intense.

Everything around them was a sea of molten red, as if they had entered another world—

A world built entirely of magma.

Beneath the surface, powerful currents surged through the lava. From time to time, terrifying streams of molten rock would burst forth violently from unknown depths.

These magma currents contained vast amounts of energy. If struck directly, even a Da Dou Shi could suffer severe injuries—or worse, perish.

Fortunately, the two-headed Fire Spirit Snake was highly familiar with this place. It skillfully avoided each deadly current before they could strike.

Having grown up in this inferno, it instinctively knew the safest paths to travel.

For Wei Yang and Ye Xian’er, riding on its back made things much easier. They only needed to resist the oppressive heat from the surroundings.

Of course, Wei Yang wasn’t completely trusting of the beast. He remained vigilant, keeping part of his mind focused on monitoring its every move.

At the same time, his powerful soul perception was constantly scanning their surroundings, ready to react at the first sign of danger.

—

The world around them was eerily silent.

In this vast magma domain, apart from the two-headed Fire Spirit Snake, there seemed to be no other living creatures.

Which was hardly surprising—this environment was far too extreme for most beings to survive. Only creatures as naturally gifted as the Fire Spirit Snake could endure such conditions.

They continued to descend, sinking deeper and deeper into what seemed like an endless abyss of molten rock.

Even with Wei Yang’s current strength as a Dou Ling, he could clearly feel the surrounding temperature rising higher and higher.

And with every meter they plunged, his Dou Qi consumption only increased.
