Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Opening One’s Heart

Woeful Poison Body!

A unique innate physique.

By consuming poison, one could cultivate poison energy and rapidly grow stronger. In just a few short years, they could even reach the level of a Dou Zong.

This was truly terrifying—far more frightening than Manifesting Dou Qi as a Horse.

Dou Zong!

That was a realm countless martial artists dreamed of achieving in their lifetime. Such powerhouses, even across the vast Dou Qi Continent, were considered mighty figures.

They could support an entire faction and establish their own sect.

Yet, the Woeful Poison Body could reach such a level in just a few years—just by eating poison.

A few years... while others were still stuck in the Dou Zhi Qi stage.

However—

The Woeful Poison Body bore a natural seven-colored mark on the lower abdomen, containing the physique’s origin power and mysteries. Yet, it was also an unparalleled, deadly poison.

As the poison body awakened and developed, this mark would gradually extend upward from below the navel.

When the seven-colored mark reached the heart, the Woeful Poison Body would reach perfection.

At that moment, it would fully erupt. The possessor of the physique would experience the agony of Ten Thousand Poisons Devouring the Body and lose all reason.

Within a thousand miles, all life would perish.

This was an extremely dangerous, feared, and hated physique—one that the world sought to eradicate.

Because every time a Woeful Poison Body appeared, it heralded a great catastrophe.

Wei Yang lay on the bed, leaning against the headboard. The delicate beauty in his arms was already fully dressed. Holding her gently, his right hand caressed her smooth, jade-like back as he frowned in thought.

Xian’er’s poison body hadn’t truly awakened yet.

Once it did, her strength would skyrocket in an explosive manner.

But that was also when the danger would begin.

The faster her strength grew, the closer she would be to death.

This was an irreversible process. Those with this physique had almost no resistance to poisons.

It was akin to an addiction.

The more poison they consumed, the stronger its toxicity, and the faster their power increased—yet that also meant the faster they reached the Ten Thousand Poisons Devouring the Body stage, the sooner they would die.

Should he awaken her poison body early?

There was another theory—the Woeful Poison Body lost control because its power grew too quickly, preventing the user from fully mastering it. That was what ultimately led to disaster.

In the end, Wei Yang shook his head.

Now was not the time to awaken it. He still needed time to grow stronger himself.

For now, he wouldn’t give Xian’er the Rainbow Poison Book.

It was better to wait.

Three different Heavenly Flames? That wasn’t difficult.

For Wei Yang, it was actually the easiest part of his plan.

Yao Lao had the Bone Chilling Flame.

The Tagore Desert held the Green Lotus Core Flame.

The Black-Corner Region had two Heavenly Flames—no, three.

The Bodhisattva Transformation Saliva was also in the Black-Corner Region.

As for the seventh-tier Magic Core, the Sky Poison Dragon Scorpion Beast was in Central Plains.

The Poison Pill Method? He could just trade for it with Yao Lao.

To Yao Lao, that wasn’t even a particularly valuable treasure. As long as he offered the right price, acquiring it wouldn’t be difficult.

No major issues.

Thinking through his plans, Wei Yang finally breathed a sigh of relief.

”Brother Yang...”

Lying obediently in his embrace, Ye Xian’er lifted her head and timidly called out to him.

”Hmm?” Wei Yang snapped out of his thoughts and looked at her delicate face. Smiling, he kissed her forehead. ”What’s wrong?”

Ye Xian’er’s eyes sparkled as she softly asked, ”What were you thinking about?”

”I was thinking about your physique,” Wei Yang said with a smile.

Ye Xian’er’s expression turned anxious. ”Then... do you dislike me because of it?”

”What nonsense are you thinking?” Wei Yang sighed helplessly, raising his hand to lightly smack her perky backside.

Pa!

Hmm. It felt nice. Very soft. Very bouncy.

Ye Xian’er’s delicate body trembled. Her face flushed red as she buried her face against his chest, her expression filled with shyness and happiness. ”Hate you...”

Wei Yang gently stroked her slender back. ”Will you still let your thoughts run wild?”

”I won’t,” Ye Xian’er murmured, shaking her head like an obedient kitten.

”You often sneak off to study poisons?” Wei Yang asked.

”You... you knew?” Ye Xian’er hesitated, cautiously glancing at his expression before nervously replying.

”Obviously.” Wei Yang rolled his eyes.

Ye Xian’er bit her lip. ”I was just curious... Sometimes I just can’t help it.”

”You didn’t eat any poison, did you?” Wei Yang frowned.

”No!” Ye Xian’er quickly shook her head. After some thought, she admitted, ”Although, whenever I see poison, I feel an urge to eat it. But I know it’s not good, so I force myself to resist.”

”Good girl.” Wei Yang praised her, patting her head gently. His tone turned serious. ”For now, stop studying poisons. Don’t touch them at all, understand?”

”Oh...” Ye Xian’er nodded obediently, then hesitated. ”For now?”

”Yes, for now.”

”Brother Yang, do you know something?”

”Hmm.” Wei Yang nodded. ”You have a special physique. You should have noticed it yourself—it’s related to poison, and it’s very dangerous.”

Ye Xian’er bit her lip and nodded, her expression dimming. ”I’m afraid... that one day, I might hurt you.”

”You won’t.” Wei Yang reassured her. ”Your physique hasn’t fully awakened yet. As long as you don’t touch poison, you’ll be fine.”

”If I touch poison, will it awaken?” Ye Xian’er asked.

”Low-level poisons won’t be a big problem if you don’t overdo it. But for now, it’s best not to touch any at all.” Wei Yang advised seriously.

”Mm, I won’t. I won’t touch them ever again.” Ye Xian’er promised, nuzzling against his chest affectionately.

”It’s not that serious. Just wait a year or two. By then, even if your poison body awakens, it won’t be a problem. Your physique is dangerous, but there is a solution.” Wei Yang comforted her.

”Really?” Ye Xian’er immediately sat up, eyes filled with surprise and hope.

Only she knew how much she hated this physique—how much she loathed it to the core.

If she could, she wished she was just an ordinary girl.

”It’s not the kind of solution you’re thinking of,” Wei Yang explained. ”It’s a way to control it—to turn it into your strength instead of a curse.”

”Your physique is called the Woeful Poison Body...”

Then, Wei Yang carefully explained the details of the Woeful Poison Body and the method of Poison Pills for control.

After hearing everything, Ye Xian’er murmured, ”Woeful Poison Body... Woeful... Woeful... It really is a fitting name, huh?”

”Silly girl.” Wei Yang pulled her into his embrace. ”It’ll be fine. Trust me, okay? I’ll help you solve this.”

”Mm, I believe you.” Ye Xian’er nodded softly, hugging him tighter. ”But... will the Poison Pill method really work?”

”It will.” Wei Yang nodded confidently.

”But... even if I control it, I’ll still be a poison woman. Won’t you... hate me for that?” Ye Xian’er looked up at him with uncertainty, appearing just like a lost little girl, lacking confidence in front of the man she loved.

”How could I?” Wei Yang chuckled helplessly. ”Once you’ve mastered it, you’ll be able to control your Poison Dou Qi freely, just like any normal person.”

”The only difference is that your Dou Qi attribute is poison. Just like how some people have fire, lightning, or wind attributes.”

”It’s just an attribute, nothing more.”

”The only ones who’ll fear you are your enemies. By then, your strength will be terrifying. I’ll even have to hold onto your thigh for protection!” Wei Yang teased.

”Really?” Ye Xian’er’s eyes sparkled as she looked at him.

”Of course it’s true.” Wei Yang smiled.

”Hehe~ Then I won’t let you hug my thigh, you big meanie!” Ye Xian’er’s mood lifted considerably as she pouted playfully.

”Oh? You’re rebelling now?” Wei Yang smirked, reaching out to tickle her. ”Let’s see if you dare refuse!”

”Ah~! It tickles! Hahaha! Stop! Hahaha! Fine, fine! You can hug my thigh!” Ye Xian’er quickly surrendered, laughing uncontrollably.

”Mean! Tickling me like that...”

”If you misbehave, I’ll tickle you again.”

”Mm~ Nooo, you can’t! I’ll be good, I promise!”

—

Phew~

Wei Yang secretly let out a breath of relief. Finally, he had coaxed this girl into a good mood again.

At this moment, Ye Xian’er was cuddling in his arms, the corners of her lips curving into a sweet smile. Her face radiated happiness and contentment.

After a while—

”Then... if I really gain control over it... In the future, can I... can I have a baby like other women?” Ye Xian’er hesitantly whispered.

”Of course you can.” Wei Yang smiled. ”By then, you can give me two adorable babies—one boy and one girl.”

”Ugh, you’re so annoying! Who said I’d have babies for you?!”

”Will you? Will you?” Wei Yang teased, pretending to tickle her again.

”No! Don’t tickle me! Fine, fine, I’ll do whatever you want...”

—

”Can I really have babies in the future?”

”Sigh~ Why are you asking again?”

”Just tell me!”

”Yes, you can.”
