Deep within the underground magma world.

Wei Yang’s eyes narrowed slightly as he suddenly sensed a faint feeling of being watched.

A cold smile crept onto his lips as he thought to himself, ”That beast is here!”

In this place, which could be considered a forbidden zone for living beings, the only creature capable of giving him such a sense of surveillance was the Rank 4 magical beast—the Two-Headed Flame Spirit Serpent.

Wei Yang’s gaze remained calm as he looked toward the seemingly tranquil magma lake. However, inwardly, he became highly alert. He turned to Xian’er and spoke gently, ”Xian’er, stay here and be careful.”

”Brother Yang, what’s wrong?” Xian’er tensed up upon hearing his words, her delicate hands already emanating a grayish-white Dou Qi.

”There’s a beast down below watching us. I’m going to deal with it.” Wei Yang let out a cold chuckle.

Xian’er warily looked at the seemingly still magma lake below, then nodded. ”Brother Yang, be careful. Don’t worry about me.”

Wei Yang nodded in return. As long as he drew the beast’s attention, Xian’er would be safe as long as she remained cautious.

With that, his figure shifted, and his black wings unfurled. In an instant, he was hovering above the magma lake. His Dou Qi surged, releasing the powerful aura of a Dou Ling without restraint, a blatant provocation.

Soon enough—

Hmm?

Wei Yang sensed a strong presence rapidly approaching from beneath the magma. Lowering his gaze, he focused on the disturbance below.

At that moment—

From the depths of the magma, bubbles began to rise in rapid succession at a specific location, causing the surface to bulge.

With a sharp hiss, the bulging magma burst apart. A pillar of fiery-red energy, mixed with molten rock, shot out violently toward Wei Yang’s position in mid-air.

The energy column was as thick as a barrel, resembling a laser cannon in its intensity. Its speed was astonishing, carrying an overwhelming heat that distorted the air in its wake.

Wei Yang had anticipated such an attack. The moment the energy column surged toward him, his black wings flapped lightly, propelling him backward just in time to evade the strike.

However, this retreat seemed to have triggered something—

Instantly, it was as if a hidden mechanism had been activated.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

One after another, fiery-red energy pillars burst forth from the magma, launching toward the sky in rapid succession.

Wei Yang’s black wings flapped swiftly as he relied on his heightened senses to maneuver skillfully through the air. His figure flickered like a streak of black and crimson lightning, dodging each pillar with calculated precision.

In the air, beams of energy crisscrossed like a chaotic web.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Although Wei Yang managed to evade them, the cavern ceiling above wasn’t as fortunate. The energy blasts struck the rock formations, causing massive explosions.

In mere moments, large sections of the ceiling collapsed. Fragments of varying sizes plummeted into the magma below, sending waves of molten rock splashing in all directions.

The scene turned into utter chaos, making the entire magma world feel like it was descending into an apocalyptic state.

”Brother Yang, be careful—! Mmph...” A soft cry of concern came from the distance. Xian’er, realizing she had spoken, quickly covered her mouth, afraid of distracting him further.

”Don’t worry, I’m just playing around with it.” Wei Yang replied casually, his voice light as he continued to dodge effortlessly.

Meanwhile, deep within the magma, an enormous shadow loomed.

The Two-Headed Flame Spirit Serpent seemed to realize that its attacks were ineffective against the nimble figure above. Letting out a ferocious and menacing hiss, it finally emerged from the magma, lunging toward Wei Yang with its massive, gaping maw.

What appeared from the molten depths was an enormous serpent-type magical beast.

At first glance, it was at least fifteen meters long, its body thicker than a water barrel. Its entire form was covered in a deep crimson hue, resembling a sculpture carved from fire jade. Though it possessed a certain beauty, it also exuded a savage and menacing presence.

Along its massive body, palm-sized scarlet scales were densely arranged, gleaming ominously under the firelight.

The most distinctive feature of this beast, however, was that it had two heads.

At the point where its neck split, two fearsome serpent heads glared forward, their massive rhombus-shaped eyes brimming with bloodthirsty ferocity and unrestrained killing intent.

”Finally willing to come out? I was just afraid you wouldn’t!” Wei Yang sneered, his body shifting nimbly to evade the beast’s snapping jaws.

At the same time, information about this magical beast flashed through his mind.

Two-Headed Flame Spirit Serpent—a rare magical beast that typically inhabits extremely hot regions or volcanic lava.

It could survive by devouring magma, continuously growing stronger with immense potential.

At birth, it was only a Rank 1 magical beast, but if given the right opportunities, it could evolve into a Rank 6 magic beast comparable to a Dou Huang.

”However, right now, you’re merely at the peak of the Rank 4. Though in this place, your combat power rivals that of a Dou Wang... If not for you, I wouldn’t have waited until I reached Dou Ling before coming to find the Green Lotus Core Flame.”

Wei Yang coldly snorted as he eyed the massive Two-Headed Flame Spirit Serpent. Both of its ferocious heads lunged toward him with gaping jaws. He swiftly retreated while flicking his fingers, unleashing crimson, spinning fire spikes toward the beast.

Low-Level Xuan-Grade Dou Technique— Blazing Fire Stap!

Relying on its tough scales and formidable physique, the serpent merely dodged slightly to avoid vital areas but otherwise ignored the attack, continuing its relentless pursuit.

Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!

The rapidly spinning fire spikes struck the serpent like drilling awls, detonating upon impact.

Palm-sized scales cracked and shattered, leaving behind wounds that oozed crimson blood.

Hiss!

Both serpent heads let out furious hisses. The pain only ignited its bloodthirsty instincts, and its rhombus-shaped pupils glowed with savage ferocity. Its forked tongues flickered like whips, producing sharp sizzling sounds.

One head lunged to bite, while the other opened its jaws and fired beams of energy.

”Haha! You can’t hit me! You’re too slow!”

Wei Yang flapped his black wings, leaving behind multiple afterimages as he flashed through the air, dodging with ease.

His fingers continuously fired off rounds of spinning fire spikes, striking the beast like bullets from a machine gun.

Though he taunted aloud, inwardly, he was growing more cautious.

”As expected of a creature that survives in magma—it possesses an incredibly tough body. Even after my relentless attacks, it looks wounded but has suffered only superficial injuries. I haven’t inflicted any real damage.”

”Moreover, in this lava-filled world, it’s completely in its element, able to replenish its energy at an alarming rate...”

”If I weren’t a fire-type cultivator, benefiting from the environment, even an average Dou Wang might struggle against it.”

Wei Yang kept his left hand in constant motion, unleashing attacks, while his right hand remained hidden within his sleeve, secretly accumulating and compressing his Dou Qi.

”No rush... Just a bit longer... I need a perfect chance to strike.” His eyes narrowed as he watched the Two-Headed Flame Spirit Serpent.

He knew that with his current strength as a one-star Dou Ling, he could only unleash his ultimate move once. If it failed to deal severe damage or outright kill the beast, he would be forced to retreat.

Thus, he remained calm, patient, waiting for the right moment.

He also understood that despite the serpent’s frenzied state, it had yet to reveal its trump card.

Both sides had been holding back, saving their ultimate moves.

Now, it was a battle of patience—who would break first?

And clearly, the first to lose control... was the Two-Headed Flame Spirit Serpent.

Against Wei Yang’s speed, it could only endure the repeated strikes like a slow and painful death.

Suddenly—

Hisss!!

A piercing, furious screech erupted as its scales radiated a blood-red glow.

”Here it comes!” Wei Yang’s eyes gleamed with anticipation.
