Deep mountains and wild forests, cliffside, hidden caves, relics of the past—just thinking about it was thrilling.

At this moment, Wei Yang licked his lips excitedly and pulled out a rope he had prepared in advance, securing it around a sturdy tree trunk.

He turned his head, scanning the surroundings, listening intently for a moment to confirm that there were no threats nearby.

”Treasure hunt, begin!”

Wei Yang gave the rope a firm tug to test its stability. Once he was sure it was secure, he lightly tapped the cliff with the tip of his foot, and his figure swiftly descended along the rock face.

As he neared the suspicious location, Wei Yang tightened his grip, halting his rapid descent. He now hung in midair.

Exhaling lightly, he turned his gaze toward a cluster of horizontal branches not far away, behind which lay a pitch-black cave entrance.

From this vantage point, the hidden cave was clearly visible behind the wooden growth.

It was well concealed—if viewed from above, it would be incredibly difficult to spot.

Found it!

Hoo~

Wei Yang secretly sighed in relief, a trace of joy appearing on his face.

This was a great opportunity.

Unlike Xiao Yan, who had Yao Lao as a powerful guide and didn’t lack fortuitous encounters, Wei Yang had no such luxury.

But for him, this was a stroke of luck that could change his fate.

Tapping his foot lightly, Wei Yang used the rope’s momentum to slowly move closer to the cave.

Swish!

Just then, a yellow-brown shadow shot toward him with a faint whistling sound as it cut through the air.

Wei Yang’s instincts flared—his eyes narrowed as he released the rope with his left hand and swiftly reached out, accurately grabbing the incoming figure.

”Cliff Snake.”

Gazing at the snake in his grasp, which had attempted to ambush him but was now tightly clutched by its seven-inch weak point, Wei Yang sneered.

”I was already expecting you. Yet you still chose to mess with me? Seeking death.”

Cliff Snake—a Rank 1 Magical Beast that lived on cliff faces.

Its elongated, wing-like body allowed it to glide through the air like a hawk.

Due to its mutated stone attribute, its body was as tough as rock, making it resistant to ordinary blades.

Moreover, its camouflage blended with the rocky terrain, making it hard to detect—perfect for ambushes.

But today, it had met the wrong opponent.

Wei Yang had already prepared for this possibility, and as a six-star Dou Shi, he was leagues above ordinary mercenaries who found Cliff Snakes difficult to deal with.

Hiss—

The Cliff Snake, gripped by its weak point, bared its razor-sharp fangs and let out a venomous hiss, its eyes filled with malice. Its body twisted frantically, attempting to coil around Wei Yang’s arm.

”Hmph.”

Wei Yang simply tightened his grip. With a slight squeeze, he crushed the bones at its weak point. Then, with a flick of his wrist, he tossed the snake into the abyss below.

Without further delay, he followed the rope and slowly descended to the cave entrance.

Stepping onto a loose rock outside the cave, Wei Yang secured the rope around a nearby tree before carefully inspecting the area.

The entrance was partially hidden by scattered rocks and twisted wood, making it well-concealed.

He had no intention of forcibly destroying the obstruction—this was, after all, the tomb of a predecessor, and disturbing it unnecessarily seemed disrespectful.

Instead, he gently pushed aside the branches and carefully removed some loose stones, revealing an opening just big enough for a person to crawl through. Without hesitation, he bent down and entered.

Inside, the passage was narrow, only wide enough for two or three people to walk side by side. The cave was shrouded in darkness, though faint glimmers of light flickered within, giving it an eerie, mystical aura.

The walls near the entrance bore signs of human craftsmanship, as if they had been carved by blades and chisels.

However, the passage of time had worn them down—the markings had become so faded that only through careful observation could one notice them.

Wei Yang pulled a candle from his backpack and lit it.

A soft glow illuminated the surrounding area. Holding the candle in his left hand, he took slow, deliberate steps forward.

Wei Yang did not let his guard down. He carefully walked through the dark and silent cave, his right palm glowing with a faint red Dou Qi, remaining on high alert.

Who knew if there were other hidden dangers inside, like the Cliff Snake from earlier?

Even though he was familiar with the storyline, this was still four to five years before that time. If any unexpected changes occurred, it wouldn’t be surprising.

The passage was cold and eerily quiet, with only the faint sound of Wei Yang’s footsteps echoing. A slight chill wrapped around his heart.

In this silent atmosphere, he continued forward for about ten minutes until he finally reached the end of the deep passage.

Up ahead, a stone door emitting a faint yellow light came into view.

Hoo~

Seeing the stone door, Wei Yang subconsciously let out a breath of relief.

Walking alone in such a dark and silent tomb passage was truly nerve-wracking.

...

After steadying himself, Wei Yang stepped forward and placed his hand on the stone door. It felt extremely thick and heavy—at least a Dou Shi-level expert going all out would be needed to break it down.

Of course, Wei Yang had no intention of destroying the stone door. Instead, he carefully examined the area around it.

Under the dim candlelight, faint carvings could be seen on the surrounding stone walls.

Though eroded by time, the engravings still faintly depicted human figures.

”Found it.”

Near the bottom of the stone door, Wei Yang’s fingers brushed against a small protrusion. Pressing it lightly—

Creak—

A deep, grinding sound echoed through the cave.

The stone door began to rise. As it lifted, a soft glow spilled out from within, dispersing the surrounding darkness completely.

At the same time, a faint exotic fragrance drifted outward.

Seeing the now fully illuminated chamber beyond the stone door, Wei Yang smiled slightly and stepped inside.

The moment he entered, his field of vision instantly expanded. The interior was a massive stone chamber, appearing somewhat simple yet vast. The surrounding walls were inlaid with Moonlight Stones, providing illumination.

At the center of the chamber, a stone throne sat there, upon which rested a skeletal figure. The skull had already detached, lying atop its own pale thigh bones.

In the silent atmosphere, the eerie scene carried a sinister and terrifying aura. In front of the throne stood a long, wide greenstone table.

Upon the table sat three locked stone boxes, neatly arranged in a row.

At the three corners of the chamber, piles of gold coins, along with various jewels and treasures, were stacked like small mountains.

At a rough glance, just the gold coins alone numbered in the hundreds of thousands.

Adding in the jewelry and other valuables, the total worth could easily reach millions of gold coins.

”Tsk tsk... I’ve struck it rich.”

Wei Yang’s eyes gleamed as he stared at the treasure.

He admired the sight for a long moment before finally tearing his gaze away and looking elsewhere.

In the last corner of the chamber, a small flowerbed made of soil had been carefully arranged.

Within it, various spiritual herbs were growing like ordinary plants, their fragrance permeating the entire chamber.
