Chapter 17: Chapter 17: The Woeful Poison Body

Over the past six months, Ye Xian’er had experienced discomfort three times.

Each time, it didn’t last long—only about a day before she recovered.

But every time, she would lock herself in her room, refusing to let Wei Yang in.

Even after she got better, she would avoid letting him get too close for several days.

Wei Yang knew very well that it was a sign of her Woeful Poison Body acting up. She was afraid of poisoning him, so she kept her distance.

He also noticed that she sometimes hid in her room, secretly studying poisons, not daring to let him know.

But with Wei Yang’s powerful soul perception, how could he truly not notice? He was just pretending not to know.

He understood that this was Ye Xian’er’s deepest secret, her greatest taboo, and also her most painful scar. He didn’t want to push her too hard for fear of making things worse.

But now, Wei Yang felt that things couldn’t go on like this. He didn’t want her to bear it alone—he wanted to share the burden with her. That was why he decided to have an open and honest conversation with her today.

”Xian’er, can you tell me?” Wei Yang asked softly.

Ye Xian’er buried her head in his embrace, sobbing lightly. Her tears soaked through his chest. ”Wu wu... No, you’ll despise me.”

”Trust me.” Wei Yang gently lifted her chin, making her meet his gaze. Seeing her teary, evasive eyes, his heart was filled with love and tenderness. ”I promise, I will never despise my little Xian’er.”

”Hmph, you’re annoying. Who’s your ’little Xian’er’?” Ye Xian’er pouted but couldn’t help smiling through her tears.

”Of course, it’s you. Who else could it be?” Wei Yang wiped the tears from her face and playfully tapped her small nose.

Feeling his warmth, Ye Xian’er’s heart was full of attachment, but she still hesitated.

Wei Yang looked at her encouragingly.

After a while, seeing that she was still uncertain, he sighed and said, ”You have something on your mind but won’t tell me. That means you don’t trust me... That makes me sad.”

”No, it’s not like that!” Ye Xian’er panicked and quickly explained, ”It’s not like that at all!”

”Then isn’t your silence proof that you don’t trust me?” Wei Yang raised an eyebrow.

”I’m just afraid... afraid you’ll find me disgusting and leave me...” Ye Xian’er’s voice trembled, and tears started falling again.

”Then I swear—” Wei Yang lifted his hand.

”No!” Ye Xian’er hurriedly covered his mouth with her hand and grabbed his other hand. ”I won’t let you swear!”

Wei Yang looked at her.

After a brief hesitation, Ye Xian’er gently caressed his face and whispered, ”Then you have to promise... you won’t despise me.”

”Mn, I promise.” Wei Yang nodded solemnly.

Ye Xian’er bit her lip, then buried her head in his chest and said softly, ”Carry me back to my room.”

”Alright.”

Wei Yang picked her up in his arms and strode toward her boudoir. She felt so light in his embrace, as if she had no weight at all.

Ye Xian’er clung tightly to his neck, feeling both embarrassed and nervous. Her heart was pounding like a startled deer, and her mind was in a daze, filled with chaotic thoughts.

Joy and worry intertwined.

Very soon, they arrived at her room.

Creak—Wei Yang pushed the door open and carried her inside.

Ye Xian’er’s room wasn’t very big. It was divided into two sections, separated by a folding screen.

The furnishings were simple and unadorned, yet everything was clean and tidy, radiating a warm and cozy atmosphere.

A faint, pleasant fragrance lingered in the air, similar to her own scent. Wei Yang couldn’t help but take a deep breath.

”You’re so annoying.” Ye Xian’er’s face turned even redder as she scolded him in a soft, coquettish voice.

”Hehe.” Wei Yang chuckled.

”Put me down.” Ye Xian’er demanded, half-embarrassed and half-annoyed.

”No.” Only a fool would let go now. Wei Yang carried her past the screen and walked straight to the bed.

He gently placed her down and then sat beside her.

The bed was soft—that was Wei Yang’s first thought as he sat down.

That faint fragrance became even more pronounced, the same as Ye Xian’er’s natural scent.

Ye Xian’er lay curled up on the bed, her heart pounding with nervousness. Her entire body was tense. She bit her rosy lips gently and didn’t dare to look at Wei Yang as she whispered, ”Close the door first.”

Hearing this, Wei Yang’s eyes lit up, and he couldn’t help but let his mind wander.

This... didn’t seem right.

Xian’er was still so young...

”What are you daydreaming about? Hurry up!” Ye Xian’er scolded lightly.

”Oh, oh!” Wei Yang snapped out of it, quickly got up to close the door, and hurried back.

But when he returned, he saw that at some point, Xian’er had already removed her embroidered shoes and had curled up under the covers, revealing only her adorable little head. Her face was flushed red.

”Xian’er.”

Wei Yang sat down and called out softly.

Xian’er slightly lifted her head. Her beautiful face was full of shyness, and she gazed at him with hazy, bashful eyes, not daring to meet his gaze directly.

Wei Yang chuckled lightly and leaned in close, whispering into her ear with a warm breath, ”Good girl, Xian’er.”

”Mm~” Xian’er let out a soft whimper, her eyes becoming even more misty, as if they were about to drip with water.

Wei Yang gently tucked away the stray strands of hair on her face, lightly caressed her cheek, and spoke tenderly, ”Can I see your secret?”

”Mm.” Ye Xian’er nodded lightly.

”Where is it?” Wei Yang asked.

”On... on my stomach.” Ye Xian’er bit her lip, turned her face away, and closed her eyes.

Wei Yang lifted the blanket and helped her lie flat on the bed.

Ye Xian’er followed his movements obediently, but her body remained tense with nervousness.

Wei Yang gently unfastened the buttons of her robe.

Xian’er turned her head away, closed her eyes, and let him proceed.

As the robe was slowly opened...

A delicate, snow-white body was revealed. Though still youthful, it had already begun to show graceful curves.

Wei Yang’s breathing became slightly heavier.

Ye Xian’er covered her eyes with both hands, biting her lip. The blush on her face had spread all the way to her neck.

Wei Yang couldn’t help but lick his dry lips as his gaze slowly moved downward. His eyes lingered for a moment on the embroidered white undergarment adorned with orchids before he looked away—somewhat regretful, yet also relieved.

Fortunately, that layer of clothing was still there. Otherwise, he feared he might not be able to control himself.

His gaze continued downward, finally stopping at her flat, smooth lower abdomen.

There, just below her navel, was a faint seven-colored mark, like a tattoo, imprinted on her flawless skin.

Against her snow-white complexion, the mark shimmered with a faint, multicolored glow, resembling a tiny, living serpent with light gently flowing along its shape.

”The Woeful Poison Body...” Wei Yang narrowed his eyes slightly, deep in thought.

He leaned in closer. The faint, pleasant fragrance on her body became even more intoxicating.

Taking a slow breath to steady his mind, Wei Yang carefully observed the seven-colored mark.

He reached out a finger and lightly traced it. Her skin was incredibly smooth—like the finest silk.

”Mmnh~” Ye Xian’er let out a soft, nasal sound, a mix of embarrassment, irritation, and a hint of delicate charm.

Wei Yang’s breathing halted for a moment. He looked up at Ye Xian’er and saw her hands tightly covering her face. However, between her fingers, there was a tiny gap—clearly peeking at him.

He couldn’t help but chuckle.

Suppressing his stray thoughts, he refocused his gaze on her abdomen.

His fingers slowly followed the contours of the seven-colored mark, his eyes filled with curiosity.

This was the Woeful Poison Body...Compared to such a terrifying physique, his so-called talent seemed insignificant.
