Beneath the Red Dragon

Facing west to Jieshi, to observe the vast ocean.

The four kings stood together, gazing at the sunset across the endless waves.

In this brief moment, the setting sun hanging high at the horizon temporarily became their shared heart.

In the magnetic and warm voice of Elf Hero King Anudale, the four kings overlooking the sea somehow briefly discarded all their racial identities, all their nations, and all their personal consciousness.

The other three kings, the Dragon Emperor of the Golden Empire, the King of White-Scaled of the Empire, and Lord Shalos of the Dark Nest, fell silent, quietly listening to the discourse of the Zor Elf King.

”Among the cruel and self-centered Dark Elves, love, in fact, only exists in legends; such a wondrous thing is almost unheard of in the history of Dark Elves,”

”The so-called family is merely to unite together to fend off external enemies, but within the Dark Elves, families harbor the same fatal threats as those from outside,”

”In this society where males are insignificant and their lives inconsequential, female elves even choose their spouses like selecting a pet to rear, and males, to attain higher status, to preserve their lives and family, can only become playthings in the hands of female elves,”

”After all, those female elves can change their partners anytime, either because they’ve grown weary or because the partner fails to meet their demands,”

Elf Hero King Anudale’s manly features revealed a hint of ridicule and irony, as he indeed openly expressed contempt for his ethnic origins before the kings.

”My family background was no different, although my father was a commander with strong gifts in both war and magic, a master proficient in various martial skills, possessing extraordinary weapon skills,”

”Still, he needed to attach himself to those female nobility to acquire relatively higher social status, and my mother, a Priestess, Great Matriarch among the Dark Elves, registered him as a power and ornamental pet dog,”

Anudale’s voice took on a nostalgic tone, as if he himself was already immersed in past memories.

”Just like the union of love among the Dark Elves, the genuine union of love between parents and children in the family is unheard of,”

”But my father Aleden was different; his strong will and indomitable courage created unparalleled resistance to the Zor civilization order that has been passed down from ancient times,”

”And my father also passed these qualities to me,” the Dark Elf King sighed softly, as the distant sunset cast a gentle veil over his outlined face, cloaking it in a layer of hazy phantom light, like the radiance of memories.

”My father once privately told me, his pride did not lie in imparting to me his exquisite martial skills, making me a young man unrivaled in strength among Dark Elves,”

”What he was most proud of was that my inherent will, shaped by him, was equally firm, equally strong, equally unyielding, like a spring sprout breaking through layers of barriers beneath the heavy earth.”

”My father scorned his cruel and insignificant race and hoped I could live a life different from the Dark Elves, so he gave his love to me,”

Anudale’s sneer turned into a gentle smile, ”Thus, my father and I shared a secret, and we were as close as those human families, without suspicion, without falsehood, without pride, without treachery,”

”Under father’s wings, my youth was far happier and more joyful than those self-righteous peers.”

Karon’s face was also cloaked in the hazy sunset light, softly praising, ”Anudale’s father was truly an outstanding elder, even among humans, he would be considered one of the most excellent men.”

White Dragon Gomot nodded in approval, ”No wonder Anudale could become the king of Dark Elves; people often say, ’Dragons give birth to Dragons, mice only produce mice,’ with such strong will, your father could guide you onto the path of true strength.”

Though no such concept exists among the Giant Dragons, Gomot is not like those Wild Dragons; he can’t empathize, as everyone can’t empathize with even themselves a few moments earlier.

Yet, White Dragon Gomot’s wisdom today is no less than that of those Great Mages specializing in spirit, naturally able to perceive the meaning within.

The Zor Elves of the Dark Realm, inherited from ancient times to today, no one can count how many years the Dark Elves’ order has ruled this race.

For Anudale’s father to resist the pressure of countless years of civilization order on his own, evolving his thoughts and will, had already broken free from the constraints of time and environment.

White Dragon Gomot asked himself honestly, he could absolutely not reach such a level; among the Gogomola Dragon Group, aside from the Ancestral Red Dragon, no other Giant Dragon could achieve this.

Just like a Giant Dragon can restrain its bloodline nature, hold back the thousands of inherited toxic flows in its bloodline.

Such deeds can only be accomplished by formidable beings like Ancestral Red Dragon Karon Gogomola and Anudale’s father.
