Beneath the Red Dragon

Nevertheless, due to the openly declared rules and restraints, many pirates who turned to the Golden Empire feel reassured, embracing their status as citizens of the empire and embarking on the empire’s path of economic expansion.

Nedru gazed at the scene in the cabin hall where each table was surrounded densely, including quite a few Vampire Species, some Dwarves, and several Elves among others.

These mainstream races of the Western Continent were temporarily at peace within his fleet, despite having had disputes with each other before.

Not only because these races from the Western Continent were once blocked by the technological and resource barriers of the Human Kingdom, causing them to almost have no intention of building seafaring fleets, needing the help of the Nedru Merchant Group,

but also because Nedru is a ’red-topped’ merchant of the Golden Empire, this Saint Tier great pirate who has been received by the Giant Dragon Lord of the empire.

As Nedru passed by, many greeted him.

”Good day, Mr. Nedru!”

”Good day, sir,”

Nedru nodded to each of them. Those who took the initiative to greet him were crew members playing the Golden Empire’s casual card game.

The cultural influence from the Golden Empire has started to rapidly spread around in terms of entertainment, not only the crew members but the Vampire Species and Elves also crowded the card tables, abandoning their former elegance and pride, shouting angrily or excitedly.

The Imperial Ministry of Agriculture’s Minister and Deputy Head of Cultural Promotion, Little Elf Riven, not only perfected the rules of the Eternal Card but also replicated another card game.

It also belongs to the Giant Dragon Eternal Card but is a variant system called Furnace Stone by the Ancestral Red Dragon, named Eternal - Floating Life Card by Riven.

There is no other meaning; it’s simply because the Pick Elf witnessed a Magic—A Dream of Transient Life demonstrated by the Ancestral Red Dragon, and the Little Elf found the name of the Magic very pleasant, hence the name Floating Life Card.

Benefiting from the promotional basis of the Eternal Card and past advertising experience, Floating Life Card was widely pursued once launched, immediately seeing a huge growth trend in sales, at one point making the empire’s cultural conversion revenue account for nearly 0.5 percent of the empire’s monthly fiscal income.

Moreover, through the baptism of the Eternal Card, the Floating Life Card’s more standardized and concise rule set also has a broader audience foundation, unexpectedly, these merchants of the empire’s merchant group spontaneously spread the word much faster than the empire’s own publicity.

Also, the empire priced the card deck of Floating Life Card consisting of thirty cards at merely ten Copper Coins, considered extremely cheap, so even ordinary people can afford it, let alone these marine merchant group members and traders.

Nedru himself also bought multiple sets of card decks to handle different battles. Now the fleet is about to enter shallow sea waters, he as the captain no longer needs to worry too much, therefore feeling itchy, started to search for his opponent.

”Damn, you actually have the Storm Giant Garcia Legendary Card, this is completely unfair, you relied on money to defeat me, not your skill.”

A Vampire Species yelled angrily at the Dwarf in front of him, ”You stinky Dwarf, wait for it, once I reach the Golden Empire, I’ll challenge you again!”

”Hahaha,” the Dwarf laughed aloud and then took the rare card from the Vampire Species’ card deck and placed it in front of himself.

The Dwarf’s beard bobbed with joy, ”I spent fifty Gold Coins to draw this Legendary Card, it’s also my luck, but it’s said there’s a lucky lad within the Imperial who spent just one gold and drew the Unique Card Above Legend.”

In the Floating Life Card released by the empire, the cards are divided into four levels: Common, Rare, Legendary, and Unique, this was adapted by Pik Fairy Riven with only one purpose, to hype up the price of the subsequent expansion pack and collector’s pack of the Floating Life Card.

Other levels of cards can be opened in common packs, Legendary cards can only be opened in expansion packs, but the Unique Card can only be opened in collector’s packs.

The Unique Card not only has a distinct appearance and magical effects but also possesses unique abilities. Even if two cards share the same character, the abilities they possess are different. Moreover, it’s said these Unique Cards can also, like Magic Treasures, possess some unique Magic Ability.

Just like the currently debuting Unique Card—Pik Great Fairy Riven, it’s said that the card’s Magic Ability is to confuse others with Elf Dust.

The Vampire Species was livid, as the rare card that was the core of his deck got taken away by the Dwarf, leaving him deeply pained, he resolved to heavily invest in building his card deck once reaching the Golden Empire, to find this Dwarf to regain his honor.

Nedru shook his head and chuckled, ”Playing as a Priest isn’t dirty, how do you play? Your nobility shouldn’t be on the card table, noble Vampire Species sir.”

As one of the earliest players to accept the gameplay, Nedru had already explored many different strategies, in his view, the card skills of this Vampire Species were still quite immature.

Under Riven’s arrangement, the Floating Life Card has undergone considerable changes according to circumstances, currently launching only seven professions: Warrior, Mage, Stealthy Thief, Holy Knight, Priest, Druid, and Warlock.

The card deck collected by Nedru included all the common cards and rare cards of the Priest profession, for this Nedru endured a whole morning of slight anguish because the Gold Coins he earned through hard work traversing sea regions, already cost him sixty gold into the Dragon’s Treasure Vault.
