Beneath the Red Dragon

All monster clans are born with an instinctive reverence for the Red Dragon, and the Dragon Emperor of the Golden Empire is the epitome of Red Dragons. Even the Nagas cannot find any Red Dragon in the world of Icaria to compare with the Ancestral Red Dragon, whether in appearance or temperament.

Before other Red Dragons, the Divine Favor Naga Jaluun must worry about living a life of slave-like abuse, but before Karon Gogomola, there is no such concern.

What Jaluun worries about is Karon Gogomola’s attitude.

The Dragon Emperor of the Empire is a noble presence that the Divine Favor Naga cannot match. If it’s not of his own will, then Jaluun’s courtship behavior would be rejected.

All the giant dragons, elves, and Nagas present know that mere beauty and strength cannot impress the Emperor of the Imperial.

In the silence that could be considered profound, the Divine Favor Naga Jaluun finally stepped forward, her soft figure graceful, full of irresistible charm. Yet, like a proud Samurai, she straightened her spine and chest, making the fullness call forth and quiver with her posture.

Karon watched the Naga with interest, though this male giant dragon was equally lustful, possessing intense desires.

But such desires were merely the little dog tied within his body, released at his whim, caged when desired, unable to affect any of his actions or will.

He was simply curious about what this Naga would do, given that his previous attitude was entirely that of a ruler, with no signs of personal involvement.

”Your Majesty,” the Divine Favor Naga Jaluun stood firm, slightly lowered her head, then raised her head, gazing into the exploring gaze of the Ancestral Red Dragon, and spoke.

”In the Empire, it is well-known that the Emperor has two eternally loyal and powerful legion guards that the mortal world cannot match,”

Jaluun said softly, ”However, whether it’s the Storm Thunder Guard or those mighty Golden Guards, compared to me, they lack a certain softness, unable to serve Your Majesty better,”

”And those maidservants who admire Your Majesty, though gentle and meticulous, lack a certain strength and determination compared to me,”

”Therefore I request to become an Imperial Guard Attendant by Your Majesty’s side, to be the closest blade to the Dragon Emperor of the Empire, Karon Gogomola’s edge, forever encircling the Emperor of the Imperial, becoming the softest silken wind garment, the sharpest enemy-breaking blade!”

”Gogomola’s blade? An interesting phrase,” Karon revealed his sharp teeth in a slight smile.

The Divine Favor Naga didn’t need to persuade himself from such an angle, as the Ancestral Red Dragon wasn’t a finicky creature, and his collection hobbies currently lacked a Naga type.

Yet, Jaluun’s words did indeed touch the Ancestral Red Dragon. After all, though Charlize and other maidservants served him well, Charlize was also a good assistant to Karon in handling Imperial affairs.

But these maidservants were too fragile and weak, Karon was also too lazy to train these maidservants into powerful warriors.

In Karon’s view, rather than investing resources into maidservants with no potential, it’s better to invest in warriors with strong potential.

Even now, Karon maintains the good habit of resource allocation utilization he once had.

And Jaluun herself has strong potential, regardless of the dangers, following Karon will not make her a weak burden like Charlize and the maidservants, and she can provide better service to the Ancestral Red Dragon than those rough warriors, why not?

So Karon nodded his giant head slightly, looking at Jaluun’s expectant and tense eyes, and laughed: ”Jaluun, you indeed have such ability, but I want to ask you, if given the will of the God of Favor, it conflicts with my will, what decision will you make?”

The dragon’s voice echoed in the hall, not only the Dragon Group but even the elves and Nagas were slightly startled, feeling surprised.

For the Divine Favored, the will granted by the Divine Spirit is supreme, for the spirit can grant power and also withdraw the power bestowed upon the favored.

Although in the eyes of many mortals, every Divine Favored is a beloved child uniquely blessed, thus they can receive the gods’ favor.

Perhaps in the eyes of the Divine Spirit, the Divine Favored are far more precious than those fanatics, as their eternal rest relates to the spirit’s gaze and will.

In the eyes of the Divine Spirit, they merely choose some outstanding talents in the mortal world to grant power to highlight their existence or joy.

Some Divine Favored also bear fragments and certain intentions of the spirit’s root powers, but the Divine Favored often cannot recognize this by themselves.

In the understanding of these believers and Divine Favored, the Divine Favored must maintain a pure and steadfast faith; once the faith in the spirit wavers, the spirits may instantly withdraw their favor.

Proud spirits do not allow their favored to have doubts.

But from Karon’s understanding, the Divine Favored does not necessarily need to maintain pure and steadfast faith in the Divine Spirit that grants divine favor power. Although this is rare, it also proves that among the gods, there are always unusual beings.

Just like those Kings residing in the deep sea—Bottom-dwelling Demon Fish.

These Bottom-dwelling Demon Fish promote the Divine Spirit they worship—Blood Queen Piskies—an everlasting, ineffable creature whose existence predates the gods.
