Chapter 2245: Non-Negotiable

The date was set, the participants were chosen, and the congress was supposed to be over. Of course, it was not going so smoothly like that.

”Next, the United Sovereign has an inquiry about the Bahmes and the two kingdoms on it.”

Tang Shaoyang and his people were about to leave, but they had to pause their tracks. He intended to leave the rest for his people, submitting the demand for their win.

It was War of Worlds, the winner will take the loser’s world. He put the request not to take the people, but just the world. There was a valid reason behind it. He was afraid that the Elmsano Empire or the Rivernius Dynasty’s spies would be among those people. He didn’t want to take the risk and let the System handle the people instead.

He returned to his seat, willing to entertain them a little bit more. As long as they didn’t request something ridiculous, he didn’t mind staying longer.

”Before we submit our demand to the System, we want to know why the Tang Empire is not willing to take Bahmes’ people. With the Bahmes’ people, we could strengthen the overall Earth’s force. The United Sovereign believes we should take them in, turning them into our force.”

Frans received the message from Herman, and he had the same idea before. He quickly stopped the Tang Empire from leaving. He had an inkling that the Tang Empire was afraid that the people from Bahmes would strengthen the other forces, his and other factions.

With the additional force from Bahmes, they could increase their overall power and might have the chance to catch up to the Tang Empire. King Herman was pushing him to challenge the Tang Empire’s one-sided decision not to take the Bahmes’ people.

”Or those people might be the spies from the Elmsano Empire that might come again to attack Earth. But this time they would be more prepared because they have spies.”

Zhang Mengyao was the one who responded, ”Did you sleep when my people were explaining to you about the Bahmes and the two kingdoms in it? The Uzaborge Kingdom and the Varomaver Kingdom are the vassals of the Elmsano Empire, and they are just pawns for the Elmsano Empire in the War of Worlds. The one who wants to take Earth is the Elmsano Empire!”

”Are you going to invite our enemy to our home again, just like what you did in our first Dimensional Tower?”

Frans was lost for words as the Tang Empire’s argument was convincing. At least, it was convincing for him, but he knew that was not enough to convince the others when they thought they could get stronger people to join their faction.

That was a dark memory for the United Sovereign. It happened when they were still the First Order Guild. They invited the force from the other worlds, which quickly backfired. They were taken over, and there was nothing they could do but listen to those people.

The concern was valid, and it might be a bad idea to keep the people, especially for medium and small factions. The people from Bahmes might take over the small and medium factions instead of joining them. But again, the winner would enslave the loser. They would have control over those people. This was a golden opportunity for them to get stronger and catch up to the empire.

Frans kept his mouth shut, glancing toward Herman’s direction. The other factions seemed to be in discussion as well.

”This is a non-negotiable condition if you want the Tang Empire to fight for Earth!”

Zhang Mengyao just dropped the bomb as the other factions were currently discussing what they should do. That declaration was telling them that the Tang Empire had a choice to abandon the Earth.

”For your information, we can move our people to another planet and leave the Earth if we want to. You know the Adventurer Guild’s origin is from another world, and we have a connection to another world as well. We can leave the Earth if we want and not take the risk of sending our people to their death.”

That quickly silenced the discussion. The major factions didn’t want to admit it, but they knew that they must rely on the Tang Empire to survive the War of Worlds. They put up a facade in Congress so the major factions didn’t look like a joke, but there was a limit to that. Especially when the Tang Empire put up such a statement.

Frans hesitated to push more despite his leader’s instruction after the obvious threat. Zhang Mengyao made it clear that they could leave Earth and let them fight Bahmes. He didn’t know how to continue the discussion, and there was one more thing that needed to be discussed.

He kept glancing toward the United Sovereign’s direction, wishing they would speak instead. Then he looked toward the North Federation. There was no reaction from that side as well. He was left alone to confront the Tang Empire.

Before the Leaderboard existed, Frans had confidence in facing the Tang Empire’s people. Not that he didn’t respect them as a powerhouse. More like he was less cautious and thought himself on equal footing. The leaderboard taught him a harsh reality, revealing the gap between the Tang Empire and everyone else.

The top twenty names in the Absolute Ranking were from the Tang Empire, all of them. That list kept growing as people not from the Tang Empire were getting pushed back from the ranking. The annual tournament held by the System was dominated by the Tang Empire and its vassals. The gap kept growing further and further, crushing his confidence.

He might be the lofty Advisor of the United Sovereign. The other factions might respect and be polite toward him, but not from the Tang Empire. Especially after the second Dimensional Tower’s incident. That completely worsened their relationship with the Tang Empire. The Tang Empire treated them with no regard after the incident.

Frans let out an inaudible sigh as he decided not to push with the first demand, ”I understand your concern, and the United Sovereign agrees with the decision.”

Then he scanned the congress hall, giving a look at each major faction, ”Is there anyone wanting to dispute the decision?” As he expected, silence followed after his inquiry.

”Then we have a second inquiry. May we know the geographical situation between the Uzaborge Kingdom and the Varomaver Kingdom?”

Frans tried not to be direct with his second inquiry. He was literally wanting to know the size difference between the two kingdoms. If possible, they wanted to dispute the Tang Empire’s claim over the Uzaborge Kingdom.

”If you are thinking of negotiating the territory, then cease the thoughts. Be grateful that we are willing to share the territory! We could take the whole world for ourselves, yet we decided to share.”

Zhang Mengyao stood up from her seat, ”We bear the burden of the duel, and we will take what we want! It’s non-negotiable. If you want something, then fight for that thing. As we said, we will allow three people to join the Tang Empire! Participate in the duel, win your duel, then you will earn the right to negotiate the reward.”
