Armed Train in the Apocalypse

At that moment, a strong wind swept down from the sky.

The two security guards leaning against the car swung their short sticks, smashing them down hard on the shadowy figure.

The sound of bones breaking and muscles tearing was heard.

The mutant bird beast didn’t even have time to let out a wail before being beaten to death by the two defenders, who then sprayed some deodorizing agent on the corpse and threw it into the bushes nearby, obviously not doing this for the first time given their familiar actions.

The two of them boarded an armed vehicle, surrounded by some researchers.

Some of them appeared noticeably surprised upon seeing Zhang Min.

However, no one spoke, waiting silently inside the compartment.

After about five minutes, the vehicle started up, and Zhang Min felt everyone breathe a sigh of relief.

In less than a minute, a loud explosion came from outside, the vehicle flipped over, and gunfire erupted outside.

”Hurry, open the door! The zombie tide is here!”

The man beside her shouted loudly.

’Zombie tide? How can those stupid, slow zombies threaten the Steel Council?’

Zhang Min deliberately ignored the commanding tone in the man’s voice and curiously crawled out of the car door.

A violent blast of air swept in, and the distant scene made her pupils contract sharply.

Beams of searchlights tore through the night, illuminating the surging waves of the zombie tide, stacking on top of each other, forcibly climbing over the ten-meter-high cement wall the Steel Council had used to fend them off, spilling into the heavy industrial zone like dumplings.

Tracer rounds guided bullets and shells, weaving a lethal web in the night sky, high-explosive blasts sent dozens of zombie bodies flying into the air, with scarlet flesh carbonizing into scattered black snow amidst the flames.

Crowds screamed and began to flee, searchlights extinguishing one by one from south to north.

At this moment, the apocalypse descended indiscriminately upon everyone.

The sound of gunfire and bullets snapped Zhang Min back to reality, as several Tier One mutant bird beasts had flipped over the armed vehicle and were entangled in a fight with Evolver soldiers.

But these soldiers were just ordinary Evolvers.

Only one captain was a Tier One, and he couldn’t withstand the onslaught, being torn in half.

In his dying moments, he detonated a grenade, injuring one of the Tier One mutant bird beasts, and under concentrated fire, they barely managed to kill one.

However, this did not alleviate the crisis, and as Zhang Min pondered the situation, a man’s frustrated voice came from the compartment behind her, ”What are you standing there for, give me a hand!”

Zhang Min’s eyes flickered, she stepped forward to pull the man out and asked, ”Where do we go next?”

The man hesitated for a moment and said, ”There’s a train arranged at the northern freight platform, loaded with supplies. Without me, you won’t be able to board it.”

Zhang Min responded noncommittally.

The man poked his head out, observing the battle scene, and gritted his teeth, ”We can’t count on these people, if you get me to the train safely, there will definitely be benefits for you.”

Zhang Min, however, was inexplicably reminded of the silver-haired girl, ”Shouldn’t we bring that girl along?”

The man hesitated momentarily, ”She’s in the overturned truck up ahead, you bring her over, and we’ll take the truck in the middle.”

Zhang Min nimbly bypassed several small-scale battles and arrived at the overturned truck at the front.

The truck’s head was completely twisted out of shape due to the abrupt turn, and blood was still dripping from the cab.

However, the cargo compartment maintained fairly good integrity.

Zhang Min frowned as she moved the deformed lever, luckily, she was an Evolver now; otherwise, she wouldn’t even have managed to open the car door.

Looking at the dark interior of the truck, Zhang Min couldn’t fathom why she wanted to save this girl.

’Forget it, let’s just say I’m being charitable today.’

Her eyes flickered with a hint of annoyance as she rifled through the interior.

She quickly found the large box containing the girl.

Who knows what material it was made of, but even after such a violent accident, the box remained intact, only pressed down by heavy objects.

Zhang Min pried open the box, finding the girl sitting quietly inside, wearing a white long dress and clutching her knees, with a black coat draped over her.

Her silver hair cascaded over her shoulders, strands flowing with a faint cold light, resembling a moonlit sculpture, so cold it seemed to meld into the darkness.

Hearing the sound, the girl lifted her pale gray eyes and gazed at her quietly.

Even though they were both women, seeing the girl at that moment made Zhang Min want to curse; the beauty was outrageously excessive!

This feeling wasn’t something mere appearance could elicit.

It was like an instinctive allure, surpassing even charisma.

If she had this kind of beauty before, perhaps that bastard Su Huan wouldn’t have kicked her out of the car?
