Alchemy Master

Chapter 488, The Flourishing Pill Conference

Translator: Silavin

Qin Yichen did not wander around the Ten Corner Alchemy Manor but instead stayed in the accommodation arranged by Tian Liang.

Of course, even if he deliberately went out to interact with others, there probably would not be any good results.

Because of Tian Liang’s recommendation, no one in the Alchemy Manor would be tactless enough to interact with Qin Yichen, and furthermore, his assessment into the Alchemy Manor was shrouded in mystery—or hardly anyone believed he had accomplished such feats.

Those who could enter the Alchemy Manor were all exceptional Alchemy Masters, selected as one in a hundred or even one in a thousand. Such outstanding individuals would more or less have somewhat arrogant attitudes.

And for a young man recommended by a fallen Elder, who ultimately exaggerated his way into the Alchemy Manor, they looked down on him from the bottom of their hearts!

Since they believe he had used some tricks to pass the assessment, if it were not for the rules of the Alchemy Manor, perhaps without even the Eastern Overcast Sect’s faction taking action, Qin Yichen would have long been expelled from the Ten Corner Ancient City.

“Damn it, that brat has been hiding in his room and hasn’t come out, not even once!”

At a distance from Qin Yichen’s room, several figures were staring at this dwelling from afar, with occasional mutterings.

“*Hmph!* I don’t believe he can stay there forever!”

“True, tomorrow is the Pill Conference. It’s a grand event for the Alchemy Manor, and all the younger generation need to participate!”

“What if he uses ‘secluded cultivation’ as an excuse?”

“…”

The less Qin Yichen showed himself, the more people became convinced that he must have cheated in the assessment. If an ordinary person had cheated to get in, perhaps no one would have said anything, because being able to cheat in an assessment like that would certainly mean having powerful backing.

But Qin Yichen was completely different. A recommendation from an Elder who existed in name only, and with such terrifying results, naturally aroused countless suspicions.

Qin Yichen paid no attention to the figures keeping watch outside. As for how others guessed and viewed him, to be honest, he did not care about such matters in his heart.

Soon, another day passed, and the day of the Pill Conference silently arrived.

On this day, the atmosphere in the Ten Corner Alchemy Manor was exceptionally high-spirited. One by one, people dressed in the attire of the Ten Corner Alchemy Manor walked around in the Ten Corner Ancient City.

Even those who usually remained in secluded cultivation rarely appeared.

After all, the Pill Conference was a grand event for the younger generation of the Alchemy Manor.

Especially the reward for the champion of the Pill Conference, which made countless people envious. To be guided by someone of unfathomable skill was something many people dreamed of.

However, this guidance, which in the eyes of the vast majority was considered a supreme treasure, did not interest Qin Yichen much.

Perhaps in his previous life, he would have been excited to receive guidance from an Earth Grade Alchemy Master, but with his current experience, the guidance of an Earth Grade Alchemy Master was not of much use to him.

His purpose for coming to the Ten Corner Alchemy Manor was not to receive guidance, but the Flaming Heart Fruit!

Almost all the young Alchemy Masters, along with some Instructors, and even a few Elders, were heading towards the square in the central area of the Alchemy Manor, while Qin Yichen leisurely remained in his room, cultivating.

*Dong! Dong!*

“Qin Yichen!”

However, this tranquillity was soon broken by a series of urgent knocks on the door, and Tian Liang’s somewhat anxious voice also sounded from outside.

When Qin Yichen opened the door and looked at this fellow with a calm face, Tian Liang could not help but twitch at the corner of his mouth.

“Do you know about the Pill Conference today?” Tian Liang asked tentatively.

“Of course.” Qin Yichen nodded and said.

“You know, yet you’re still here? The Pill Conference is about to begin!” Hearing such a calm response, Tian Liang almost spat out a mouthful of blood.

The Pill Conference! Even though many people knew they could not receive the Manor Master’s guidance, they would still break their heads to participate!

Because in the Pill Conference, if one displayed remarkable talent, they would be recruited by some major powers. Even independent Alchemy Masters could gain considerable Alchemy experience from it.

But this guy, how could he not show an ouch of excitement or interest?

“Why should I participate in the Pill Conference?” Qin Yichen blinked his eyes, with a look of bewilderment.

“You…” Seeing Qin Yichen’s expression, Tian Liang could not help but cover his face with his hand, inwardly screaming, [This is the Pill Conference for Heaven’s sake! Could you have a more normal reaction for once in your life!?]

In the end, it was only after Tian Liang’s persistent persuasion that Qin Yichen reluctantly walked out of his room. Standing on the streets of the Alchemy Manor, looking around, he then headed towards the square in the central area.

Walking along, Qin Yichen discovered that there were fully armed Alchemy Manor guards patrolling the streets. Obviously, this was also due to the Pill Conference. Although it was extremely rare for anyone to disrupt the Pill Conference, to prevent accidents, the Alchemy Manor still had to take these precautionary measures.

Walking past two streets, a huge bluestone square platform appeared in Qin Yichen’s line of sight. Looking at the bustling crowd in the square, Qin Yichen shook his head helplessly. It seemed that many Alchemy Masters wanted to make a name for themselves and show their skills in the Pill Conference.

Qin Yichen moved his feet slightly and squeezed into the crowd.

“What are you pushing for? You’re crushing my balls!”

In such a crowded situation, crude shouts of abuse constantly rang out. If one had not witnessed it personally, it would be hard to believe that such words came from the mouths of these ‘esteemed and outstanding’ Alchemy Masters.

Feeling the crowding from behind, many people frowned with dissatisfaction and looked back. When they saw Qin Yichen, many people’s pupils constricted slightly, and they involuntarily opened a path.

Those on the outermost edge were mostly independent Alchemy Masters. It was not that they did not want to join any faction, but because they lacked talent. Although they might be considered top-tier genius Alchemy Masters elsewhere, in this gathering of talented Alchemy Masters, their ordinariness became apparent.

As for the reason for making way for Qin Yichen, it was actually quite simple: they did not want to have any connection with him.

Faced with various unusual gazes, Qin Yichen remained composed with an indifferent expression. Since he was here, he might as well go forward to take a look.

At this time, in the centre of the square, there was a platform about ten meters in size. That was where the Alchemy Masters would showcase their skills.

And directly opposite the platform, there was a high platform. On the platform, more than ten figures stood tall. They were the Elders of the Alchemy Manor. In the centre of these figures, there were two elderly men sitting still like old monks with their eyes closed. Just sitting like that, yet no one dared to underestimate them. In fact, from time to time, there were gazes of reverence cast upon them.

From the two elderly bodies, waves of terrifyingly strong and subtle energy fluctuations occasionally spread out. These two Elders were clearly the two Grand Advisers of the Ten Corner Alchemy Manor.

The one on the left, dressed in a blue-green robe, was the one from the Northern Depths Sect faction: Yuo Hua. And the one on the right was from the Eastern Overcast Sect faction… Dong Yang!
