Alchemy Master

Chapter 475, A Glimmer of Hope

“Sir, I was just trying to drive him away…” The tavern owner pleaded desperately.

Suddenly, his eyes caught sight of Qin Yichen, and he pointed at the latter, exclaiming loudly. “Sir, it was that young man who insisted on bringing him in. It truly has nothing to do with me!”

“Hmm?” Following the direction of his gesture, the four Eastern Overcast Sect disciples looked over. Upon seeing Qin Yichen, their eyes filled with mockery.

Afterwards, the four approached with malicious smirks, surrounding Qin Yichen and Tian Liang.

“Young man, is this your first time in Ten Corner Ancient City?”

A silver-robed man sized Qin Yichen up, asking with utter contempt.

In response, Qin Yichen first nodded, then shook his head.

One could only say that in this lifetime, it was indeed his first visit here.

Seeing Qin Yichen’s strange behaviour, the four silver-robed men could not help but snicker. Had this young man been frightened out of his wits by them?

To the side, many onlookers’ eyes revealed a trace of pity. A kind-hearted young man who had just arrived at Ten Corner Ancient City had already encountered such trouble. What a shame.

“Young man, do you know who this beggar is?” One of the silver-robed men pointed at Tian Liang and questioned Qin Yichen.

“What if I know? What if I don’t?” Originally, they thought Qin Yichen would repeatedly apologise, but unexpectedly, he remained completely calm and spoke indifferently. This demeanour immediately caused the atmosphere in the entire tavern to grow strangely tense.

The onlookers stared at Qin Yichen in disbelief, their eyes filled with astonishment. Did this young man not understand what these silver-robed men represented?

The four were also stunned for a moment. Then, shame and anger surged in their eyes.

Although Ten Corner Ancient City was the Ten Corner Alchemy Manor’s territory, they had never been disregarded like this here!

“Take him away!” With an angry shout, one of the silver-robed men reached for Qin Yichen’s shoulder.

With one grab, he expected the young man to be in his grasp. This made them believe that this youth was merely an inexperienced busybody.

“What?”

However, just as he was about to drag Qin Yichen away, one pull yielded no movement from the latter. Instead, it caused him to stagger, nearly falling.

“Eh?”

This unusual development caught the attention of the many onlookers, and immediately, voices of surprise quietly arose.

It seemed that things were unfolding differently than everyone had anticipated.

The Eastern Overcast Sect disciples were stunned. Genuinely stunned, to the extent that they could not react for a short while.

After all, someone actually dared to resist them!?

This kind of situation might have never happened to them before.

“Damn it!” Cursed the silver-robed man who had made the move; after a brief moment of surprise, his fury immediately erupted. Killing intent emanated from him as he reached out again, but this time for Qin Yichen’s neck.

Obviously, he no longer merely wanted to seize the person. This grab, if successful, would result in death or at least severe injury!

Many people closed their eyes, unwilling to witness the bloody scene, while those from the Eastern Overcast Sect revealed cruel sneers.

They wanted to establish their authority. They wanted to show everyone what the consequences were for defying the Eastern Overcast Sect!

Tian Liang also wanted to warn him, but when he saw Qin Yichen’s still calm expression, his heart trembled.

Clearly, the young man before him knew his identity, and also knew who these people were.

What Tian Liang could not understand was, since this young man knew these people’s identities, why could he remain so calm? Was he not afraid of the Eastern Overcast Sect? Or perhaps he came from one of the other two great Sects?

However, this possibility was extremely slim.

If the young man before him truly came from one of the other two Sects, then why would he seek his recommendation?

This did not make any logical sense.

While he pondered, the silver-robed man had already reached for Qin Yichen’s neck…

*Bang!…* Following a loud crash, a figure was sent flying, smashing through several tables and chairs, only stopping upon hitting the wall.

*Siiii!*

When the crowd’s gaze fell upon the flying figure, they could not help but draw a cold breath, their eyes filled with shock.

Because the one sent flying was actually the silver-robed man from Eastern Overcast Sect!

Looking at the shattered tables and chairs and the mess, the tavern owner was on the verge of tears, but he dared not make a sound.

Being able to run a shop in Ten Corner Ancient City, he certainly had a respectable background, but compared to the Eastern Overcast Sect, his background was nothing.

Now, he could only pray that these Masters would not tear down his tavern.

The sneers on the faces of the Eastern Overcast Sect disciples froze, turning into shock and disbelief. Someone had actually struck out at them!

“Young man, you’re courting death!” They exchanged glances, all burning with rage as they charged towards Qin Yichen.

*Bang! Bang! Bang…* What followed was a series of crashes, figures flying in all directions. People nearby suffered as a result, fleeing the scene.

*Swoosh!* After dealing with them, Qin Yichen stood up, nonchalantly straightening his clothes, and said to the equally astonished Tian Liang, “Senior, please!”

Tian Liang was still in a state of shock, until Qin Yichen called him several times before he responded.

Looking at Qin Yichen again, he could no longer maintain a calm attitude. [Perhaps, this young man before me might really be my last hope.]

Was he really content with his current situation?!

Certainly not.

He wanted to resist.

But the Eastern Overcast Sect was like a mountain pressing down on him, rendering him immobile, even reducing him to a beggar.

Around him, no one could help; everyone avoided him.

The reason he stubbornly continued to live was in hope that, one day, a miracle would occur.

And now, a miracle has appeared!

Tian Liang did not hesitate. He stood up, straightening his previously hunched back, and strode towards the exit.

Perhaps this action would anger the Eastern Overcast Sect, but he knew that if he did not seize this opportunity, he would never be able to turn his life around!

Upon reaching the door, Qin Yichen turned his head and gave a slight nod to Lu Xiaoguan who was standing upstairs.

He had not involved Zhao Yaorou and the others. This time, he wanted to face it alone.

He knew very well that entering the Ten Corner Alchemy Manor would be fraught with difficulties, but… was he afraid!?
