Alchemy Master

Chapter 452, Choice

“Yay! That would be wonderful!” Gongshu Zhiyi immediately clapped her hands in approval. She had been dreaming of going to the outside world, otherwise she would not have repeatedly asked Qin Yichen to take her out.

“Nonsense!” Gongshu Yushan glared at Gongshu Zhiyi, then looked at Qin Yichen, hesitating slightly as he said. “This matter requires careful consideration, and besides, we don’t even know if the remnants of the Foreign Race still exist…”

This was what worried him.

Lu Yongzhi was already impatient and immediately added. “It is precisely by venturing out that we can learn whether the Foreign Race that had been defeated by our Clans still exists. If they do, we can learn whether they are still plotting something. If we remain isolated from the world, as time passes, they will grow stronger while we weaken. If they invade again, what will we use to resist!?”

The members of the Gongshu Clan looked at each other.

“Well…” Gongshu Yushan fell silent.

In fact, he knew in his heart that leaving isolation was inevitable.

Now there was also a better opportunity to end their isolation, which was… the appearance of Qin Yichen.

Seeing his reaction, Qin Yichen secretly breathed a sigh of relief. As long as Gongshu Yushan was not stubbornly against it, he would be able to think of ways to make the Gongshu Clan his allies.

Moreover, if the Lu Ban Sect could truly be used by him, that would not be a bad thing.

“This old man suggests selecting the most talented young disciples from both Clans to go out and gain experience…”

Gongshu Cangyou, who had been silent until now, lightly tapped the table, his deep eyes showing expectation.

“Who should we send out?” Gongshu Yushan, seeing that the Supreme Elder had already made up his mind, could not help but sigh. “This concerns the rise and fall of our Clan, and should be considered with the utmost care.”

After all, as the Patriarch of the Clan, the prosperity of the Clan members was above all else.

Whatever decision he made, he had to consider it from the perspective of the Clan members’ prosperity. This also caused him, who was usually decisive, to hesitate.

“Father, the youngest and most talented disciples of the two Clans, from the Gongshu Clan, would be me… I fully support Great Grandfather’s suggestion!” Gongshu Zhiyi joyfully cheered, a blush creeping onto her face.

“That won’t do…” Hearing these words, Qin Yichen’s hand trembled almost imperceptibly, his whole body shaking, and he immediately said. [This girl is too clingy! With her appearance, she would bring me endless trouble!]

“Brother Yichen…” Gongshu Zhiyi’s beautiful eyes reddened, tears welling up, as she trembled: “You promised me that after leaving the trial, you would take me out to play!”

Qin Yichen felt a pang of guilt, but thinking of the dangers outside, he really did not want her to be caught in his troubles. So, he added. “This isn’t about going out to play, this is a serious matter…”

Gongshu Zhiyi refused to listen, “I don’t care! You have to keep your word, otherwise I’ll hate you forever!”

“Haaa…” Qin Yichen was almost in tears. He was truly thinking of Gongshu Zhiyi’s welfare, why could she not understand? The outside world was really too dangerous!

She was like a little rabbit. If she went out, she would definitely be targeted by a pack of hungry wolves!

*Ahem…* Gongshu Cangyou coughed, his old face reddening as he said softly. “Zhiyi is not wrong. In terms of talent and aptitude, she is indeed the strongest youth in our Clan. Let her go with Brother Yichen to gain experience… I believe with Brother Yichen there, Zhiyi will be safe and sound.”

“Great Grandfather is the best!” Gongshu Zhiyi broke into a smile through her tears, looking at Qin Yichen with a somewhat challenging gaze.

To this, Qin Yichen could only shrug helplessly, secretly sighing… [With her following me, misery, I can already see you…]

However, since he needed to borrow the strength of the Gongshu Clan, he had no choice but to agree.

“Brother Yichen?” Lu Yongzhi only now noticed that the ancient Gongshu Cangyou was actually addressing such a young and capable Sect Master as ‘Brother’, and he could not help feeling envious, secretly regretting being hostile before. If he had been friendly from the start, perhaps they could have also addressed each other as Brothers, wouldn’t that have been wonderful?

“Then who will the Lu Clan send?” Qin Yichen’s gaze fell on Lu Yongzhi.

Lu Yongzhi took a deep breath, somewhat embarrassed as he said: “My unworthy Son, Xiaoguan, is technically the strongest youth in our Clan…”

*Pfft!* Gongshu Cangyou, who had just taken a sip of tea, sprayed it all out upon hearing Lu Yongzhi’s words… his expression of amusement made Lu Yongzhi’s face darken.

“I apologise, Patriarch Lu. Please don’t take offence, please!”

Thinking of how Lu Xiaoguan had been thrown down the mountainside by Qin Yichen, and then considering that Lu Xiaoguan was the strongest of the young generation in the Lu Clan, Gongshu Cangyou, despite having lived for so long, found it incredibly amusing.

*Hmph!* Lu Yongzhi snorted coldly, turning his head away and falling silent.

The atmosphere in the room became awkward.

“Since that’s the case, there’s no time like the present, let’s set off today!” Seeing that no one was speaking, Qin Yichen was actually worried that something might happen to Feng Qianxue.

After all, he had already spent a lot of time by coming here. He would absolutely not allow the tragedy to repeat itself!

Gongshu Zhiyi fully agreed. “Good! That’s great, let’s go now!”

However, when she thought about travelling with Lu Xiaoguan, her mood dampened, and her initially high spirits inevitably became somewhat melancholic.

Lu Yongzhi also nodded secretly at this moment, formally saying. “Then once my Son regains consciousness, we shall prepare to depart. Coincidentally, our Clan’s warship can be used to send the Sect Master down the mountain.”

“Thank you.” Qin Yichen immediately stood up, his eyes also revealing a trace of fervour.

The Lu Ban Sect, Masters of the Dao of Crafting, would now become one of his great allies. Even if he faced the Ouyang Family, what was there to fear!?

Thereupon, Lu Yongzhi went to Lu Xiaoguan’s place of recuperation. As the one who would soon represent the Lu Clan and follow Qin Yichen, who possessed the Master Craftsman’s Hammer, down the mountain, he had many things to instruct.

As for Gongshu Zhiyi, she was also called away by her Father, probably to receive some instructions.

“Brother Yichen, you mustn’t leave without me!” As she left, she was still somewhat worried, as if afraid that once she left, Qin Yichen would disappear.

“Where could I run to?” Qin Yichen was utterly helpless, stuck with such a clingy girl and having no way out.

Beside them, Gongshu Cangyou, observing all this, nodded secretly, the corners of his mouth lifting imperceptibly into a smile.

In his view, if Gongshu Zhiyi could develop something with Qin Yichen, it would be a huge benefit for the entire Gongshu Clan. If… she could form a union with Qin Yichen, then it would mean that the Sect Master of the Lu Ban Sect would be the Son-in-law of the Gongshu Clan!

Thinking of this, Gongshu Cangyou’s wrinkled face could not hide his joy, and his hand gripping the chair imperceptibly tightened.

…

Half a day later, the Lu Clan’s Young Master, Lu Xiaoguan, finally woke up from his unconscious state.

As soon as he woke up, he shouted loudly. “Qin Yichen, I’m going to kill you…”

*Slap!* Lu Yongzhi immediately delivered a slap.

Lu Xiaoguan, holding his cheek, took a moment to come to his senses. It seemed that… ever since Qin Yichen had appeared beside Gongshu Zhiyi, his Father had become different from before, and would even strike him.
