Chapter 457, Strong Enemies Approach

“Then let’s leave on the warship.” Said Gongshu Zhiyi with some guilt. However, she was not too worried about this; the speed of the warship was such that even a Martial King could not catch up to it.

“The warship makes too much noise, and if someone with ill intentions discovers it, the consequences would likely be even more serious than discovering the Martial King Puppet.” Qin Yichen shook his head and solemnly said.

Gongshu Zhiyi and Lu Xiaoguan fell silent. Having just left their Clan, they did not understand much about the outside world. At this moment, they could only look towards Qin Yichen, waiting for him to make a decision.

“Let’s go, we need to leave this place first.”

Finally, Qin Yichen took a deep breath and sighed lightly.

If he had known earlier that the Northern Depths Sect was still hunting him, he definitely would not have entered a city so easily. At the very least, he would have changed his appearance before going in.

But now, it was too late.

Afterwards, Qin Yichen put one arm around Gongshu Zhiyi’s waist and soared into the sky. Seeing this, Lu Xiaoguan’s eyes flashed with envy, but at this moment, he dared not say anything and simply followed behind.

Since they could not use the warship or their Puppets, the upcoming flight would likely require Qin Yichen to carry Gongshu Zhiyi.

…

One day later, in the Northern Depths Sect, ten thousand kilometres away, someone came urgently flying in.

“Elder Ling!”

Seeing the flying figure, one Northern Depths Sect Disciple after another bowed respectfully.

This Elder seemed to be in a great hurry, rushing straight towards the main hall of the Sect.

At this time, in the hall, dozens of figures were already seated on the chairs on both sides. Each of them emanated powerful auras – these people were all Elders of the Northern Depths Sect!

As Elder Ling entered, all eyes turned towards him.

“Elder Ling, is the information you obtained reliable?”  Upon seeing Elder Ling, an Elder on one side stood up and asked.

“Fifty percent.” Elder Ling pondered briefly before slowly replying. After all, he had not personally seen that person; it was just some news saying that a similar looking young man had appeared near Cloud Forest City.

“Fifty percent? Elder Ling, don’t try to fool us again!”

Hearing his uncertain words, some Elders could not help but frown. Those with worse tempers even sneered.

Similar news had occurred at least ten times in the past two months, but none had proven to be true. In the eyes of many Northern Depths Sect Elders, this time would prove to be the same as before.

“Everyone, the negative news brought by Qiu Jizhuo’s death has already caught the Sect Master’s attention. If we don’t resolve this matter quickly, when the Sect Master emerges from seclusion, I’m afraid none of you will escape punishment!”

In response to these questioning voices, Elder Ling, who was responsible for the intelligence, coldly snorted.

Sure enough, after his words fell, the Elders in the hall became solemn.

Normally, the Sect Master did not concern himself with worldly affairs and left all the complicated matters of the Northern Depths Sect to these Elders to handle. If this matter disturbed the Sect Master’s seclusion and provoked his anger, they would all suffer.

“Everyone, this information comes from Cloud Forest City. I’ll have to trouble three Elders to go and investigate.”

Seeing the Elders fall silent, Elder Ling did not say much more and directly revealed the intelligence.

Shortly after, more than ten Martial Kings, led by three Elders at the Mid Stage Martial King Realm, flew out from the Northern Depths Sect.

More than ten Martial Kings were already enough to sweep through most Forces in this region, and this was merely the tip of the iceberg for the Northern Depths Sect. From this, one could see what terrifying foundations the three top Sects in this region possessed!

…

To the east of Cloud Forest City was a mountain forest stretching for hundreds of kilometres. Among the vast dense forest, lush trees obscured half the sky. Occasionally, through gaps in the leaves, one could see the shadows of beasts flashing by.

This mountain range was usually only visited by herb gatherers and mercenaries who hunted Demonic Beasts. Apart from beast roars, it was normally quite peaceful.

Deep in the forest, in a tranquil spot, two young men and a little girl were sitting cross-legged in a clearing, resting.

These three were Qin Yichen, Gongshu Zhiyi, and Lu Xiaoguan.

After leaving Cloud Forest City, Qin Yichen keenly noticed that even with his flying speed, there were many Martial Kings following him along the way, pretending to just be passing by.

He could not kill them. In his frustration, he could only choose to enter this mountain forest that stretched for hundreds of kilometres.

After all, carrying Gongshu Zhiyi meant he had to reduce his speed, making it quite difficult for him to shake off these Martial Kings who had ulterior motives.

By entering this dense forest, taking advantage of the limited visibility, he could shake off quite a few people.

However, after several days, Qin Yichen found to his dismay that this was just his wishful thinking.

Since entering this place, in this rarely visited area, he encountered several strong individuals almost every day, claiming to be mercenaries on an adventure.

During these days, Qin Yichen deeply regretted his earlier decision.

If he had not brought Gongshu Zhiyi out, such troublesome things would not have happened. Even if someone had recognised him, he could have quickly shaken off his pursuers with his speed…

Although he felt upset, every time he looked at Gongshu Zhiyi’s innocent face, his anger could not erupt.

In the sky above this vast forest, more than ten figures flew past rapidly, the Yuan Energy fluctuations they caused making the Demonic Beasts below tremble in fear.

These people were flying directly towards where Qin Yichen was hiding!

“Elder Yun, that boy is in this forest. I saw him this morning. He is just ten kilometres ahead!”

At the front, a Martial King dressed as a mercenary pointed towards the forest ahead, his face full of flattery as he spoke to an old man in front of him.

“Hmm, if it’s really the person we’re looking for, after we resolve this, the Northern Depths Sect will give you what you want!”

The old man referred to as Elder Yun nodded, then waved to the experts behind him and shouted. “Search every corner!”

…

“They’re coming!” More than ten kilometres away, Qin Yichen’s brows suddenly furrowed, and his tightly closed eyes snapped open, looking in a certain direction.

As he stood up, Lu Xiaoguan and Gongshu Zhiyi also rose, their faces vigilant.

“If there’s a battle later, you protect Zhiyi. If it gets dangerous, leave with your Puppets and return to the Clan!”

Looking in that direction, Qin Yichen said with a solemn expression. From there, he could sense more than ten powerful aura fluctuations, among which two or three even put pressure on him.

“Three Mid Stage Martial Kings. They really think highly of me!” Qin Yichen narrowed his eyes, silently sighing to himself.
