Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Jokes aside, everyone was genuinely happy for Lu Fan about his Fourth Profession Skill, able to transform his Pet Dragons into Humans.

Firstly, the Pet Dragons’ strength could improve further. Secondly, the adorable Pet Dragons becoming little girls and boys was not unpleasant.

Taking this opportunity, Lu Fan roughly recounted his recent experiences to the girls, briefly revealing information about the Ancient Gods.

There were 36 Ancient Gods in total. Lu Fan wanted to seize as many Divine Seats as possible, which required enough people to claim them.

Beyond Jin Zhan, Tu Jing, and others, the next best candidates were naturally Han Ke and the girls.

After hearing Lu Fan’s explanation, the girls were shocked into speechlessness. The matters Lu Fan described were too fantastical for them to immediately accept. After all, everyone was still striving toward their Fourth Profession Change. Now Lu Fan was telling them he wanted them to become Ancient Gods. These were the very existences causing such mayhem in the Far North.

How could they possibly accept this?

They even wondered if Lu Fan was joking.

However, after Lu Fan’s explanation and demonstration of some of his Ancient God Power, they gradually accepted this reality.

Regarding this matter, they had more considerations than Jin Zhan and Tu Jing, and could not accept as readily.

Han Ke was relatively better off. Upon learning that Lu Fan was now basically Immortal, she only needed a moment’s thought before agreeing to become an Ancient God. After all, she had no relatives. Lu Fan was her only concern in this world. Now that Lu Fan was Immortal, being able to accompany him forever was fine for her.

Jian Ying was the second to agree. Her situation was similar to Lu Fan and Han Ke’s. She also had no relatives. It could also be said that she had no friends other than this small group. Therefore, being Immortal while having Lu Fan and Han Ke as companions was acceptable to her.

Tao Xiaoman and Qin Qiu, however, said they couldn’t decide immediately. They still had Families. The prospect of living while watching their loved ones age and die was difficult to accept.

Though they knew they would eventually face this reality, wasn’t solitary Immortality itself a form of suffering?

These two girls, being more emotionally sensitive, could not immediately make a decision that would affect their entire lives.

Lu Fan expressed understanding and told them to take their time considering. After all, it was uncertain how many Divine Seats he could ultimately seize. Demanding an immediate answer would be too hasty.

After discussing these matters, Lu Fan shared his next plan: taking everyone to the deeper parts of the Far North to Level everyone up to 90, then preparing for their Fourth Profession Change.

Simultaneously, he would Level Xiao Ye to 30 for her Secondary Profession Change.

Regardless of whether everyone accepted the Divine Seats, increasing their Levels was always beneficial. So, no one objected.

Thus, Lu Fan prepared to lead everyone deeper into the Far North.

As their accompanying teacher, Zhao Shengming was naturally included in the invitation. Since Lu Fan was already bringing the others to Level Up, one additional person like Zhao Shengming would not significantly reduce the Experience Points distribution. Lu Fan planned to help Zhao Shengming reach Level 90 and undergo his Fourth Profession Change as well.

However, Zhao Shengming declined.

He said that since Lu Fan had returned, his presence here was no longer necessary. Dragon Capital University had organised another team to Level Up in the Far North, which desperately needed powerful teachers for protection. He intended to join that team to ensure the students’ safety.

He mentioned he was already old and could clearly see his own limitations. Even if he reached Level 90 and completed his Fourth Profession Change, he would likely remain stuck at that Level for life, unable to progress further.

If that was the case, he would rather make himself more valuable by cultivating more youths, helping them become even more powerful Fourth Profession Players in the future.

Zhao Shengming’s perspective was admirable, truly. Despite Lu Fan’s repeated invitations, Zhao refused. Helplessly, Lu Fan could only let him go.

Thus, the team returned to its original Dragon Capital University configuration, with Lu Fan as the leader and Han Ke, Jian Ying, Qin Qiu, and Tao Xiaoman as members.

Functionally, the team consisted of main Damage Output, and Hard Carry, Lu Fan, and the ‘passengers’, who was everyone except Lu Fan.

Tao Xiaoman immediately mounted an Ice Crystal Beast, very excited. “After grinding for so many days, I can finally experience the feeling of Experience Points skyrocketing again! Although fighting on my own allowed me to clearly feel my strength improving, I still prefer being carried by Lu Fan. The feeling of harvesting Experience Points while lying down is absolutely amazing!”

Lu Fan shot her a sideways glance. “For you to get stronger, Levels are definitely important, but your own combat skills and experience is equally crucial. I can help you quickly reach Level 90, but afterward, you must frequently spar with Jian Ying to improve your skills. When there’s time, you could even venture out alone for training, just like I did when travelling on foot to the Western Border. Such a journey would really challenge you and quickly improve your strength.”

“Ah? Travel on foot to the Western Border!?” Tao Xiaoman’s face paled, and she vigorously shook her head. “No way! I’m not going!”

“From Dragon Capital University to the Western Border, it is at least ten thousand kilometres, with countless High Level Monster roaming about and Forbidden Zones. With my small and weak body, one lap would probably leave me with no bones left.”

Lu Fan continuously shook his head. “I’m not saying you should start from Dragon Capital University, but from here.”

“Ah?! Wouldn’t that make the journey twice as long?! Just kill me!” Tao Xiaoman wailed.

Lu Fan said. “Your Levels came too easily. You need to make up for it. When I made that journey, I was only around Level 60, you know? After your Fourth Profession Change, there should not be many existences stronger than you along the way. As long as you don’t court death, you definitely won’t die.”

“Think about it. Fourth Profession Players are already top experts, stronger than Vice Principal Zhao. If you can’t survive a journey to the Western Border on your own, how worthless would your status as a Fourth Profession Player be?”

Tao Xiaoman pouted, clearly wanting to renege and avoid the journey Lu Fan proposed.

However, after careful consideration, Jian Ying proactively spoke up. “I think Lu Fan is right.”
