Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 844, Misunderstood

Translator: Silavin

Since Xiao Ye had already become a Heavenfall Mage and obtained two Skills from it, Lu Fan really wanted to see just what Xiao Ye’s Skills could do.

This was a natural hunting ground. With so many Monsters surging forward one after another, it was truly too perfect for testing those Skills.

And so, Lu Fan directly pulled Xiao Ye’s hand, bringing the bouncing and hopping Xiao Ye, up into the sky over the city walls, planning to engage the enemy.

Worth mentioning was that although Xiao Ye was in her Human Form, she possessed the ability to fly.

When she wanted to fly, a pair of enormous black Dragon Wings would spread from her back, identical to her original Dragon Wings. They were even cooler than Lu Fan’s Bone Wings.

In the blink of an eye, Lu Fan and Xiao Ye had already arrived below an outpost, walking towards the Monster horde.

Naturally, there were other soldiers and Players fighting here as well. In this outpost, Higher Level Players were also stationed, ensuring everyone’s safety and reducing casualties as much as possible.

Everything was the same as at the other frontlines.

No one would anticipate what was about to happen.

Lu Fan and Xiao Ye did not want to cause too much commotion. So, after arriving at the outpost, they descended from mid-air and walked towards the battlefield.

And because the soldiers in the outpost had their attention fixed on the battlefield the entire time, they did not notice Lu Fan and Xiao Ye flying above, which was far from what ordinary people did.

When the two appeared in the soldiers’ field of vision and were about to head to the battlefield, they were finally spotted by soldiers in the outpost.

A Squad Leader saw how young Lu Fan was and his brow immediately furrowed.

And when he also saw the girl beside Lu Fan, appearing to be only fifteen or sixteen, he could not sit still anymore.

It was well known that Players had their First Profession Change when they came of age. In short, around eighteen years old.

Xiao Ye was clearly far too young for that.

Even if someone could look younger than their age, Xiao Ye absolutely could not exceed twenty years old.

Such a young Player should still be at a Low Level. It was uncertain whether she had even undergone her Secondary Profession Change yet.

Never mind not having her Secondary Profession Change, even if she had already undergone one, it would be very difficult to survive on this battlefield.

One must know that students who came here to fight against the horde of Monsters were basically around Level 50. Also, they had to be accompanied by Third Profession Players.

If they were Players from the outside, not affiliated with a University or military, the requirements were even higher. They either had to be Players who had undergone their Third or more Profession Change, or be Level 55 and above. Simultaneously, they must have a full team of ten people, before they would be allowed to come here to defend the frontlines.

Otherwise, coming to the frontlines would just be throwing their lives away. If a mistake happens, the soldiers would need to allocate forces to rescue these people, which simply was not worth it.

So, both emotionally and rationally, the appearance of this young pair seemed somewhat out of place here.

Two such youths, one of whom even looked like she had just gotten her First Profession Change, who was clearly not even of age, how could they possibly allow this to happen? Shouldn’t others stop them outside the city walls?

Immediately, the Squad Leader of the outpost said to a soldier beside him. “Do you see those two? They don’t look particularly strong. Go and see if they have other teammates. If not, persuade them to go back. We can’t have any meaningless casualties.”

“Yes!” This soldier stood ramrod straight, placed his hand on his chest in salute, then he summoned his own Sky Mount and rushed towards Lu Fan at high speed.

At this moment, Lu Fan and Xiao Ye had almost reached the battlefield. Ahead, quite a few Players were fighting with Monsters, and the battle was intense.

Lu Fan had been wondering whether he should advance a bit further to avoid having these Players become unhappy about having no Monsters to grind once he made a move.

Just then, a soldier riding a Jade Bird descended from the sky, blocking Lu Fan’s path.

Seeing a soldier coming towards him, Lu Fan showed no unusual reaction and stopped with Xiao Ye.

“Please stop!” The soldier dismounted from his Mount, his expression solemn. “May I ask if you are heading to the battlefield ahead to join the frontlines against the Monsters?”

Lu Fan nodded and said. “Yes, I am going there to fight.”

“Then where are your teammates?” The soldier asked again.

Lu Fan scratched his head and said somewhat embarrassedly. “My teammates… are fighting Monsters at another outpost. They’re relatively safe there, so I wanted to come here alone to Level Up and test my strength.”

“You have teammates, but they’re not here?” The soldier frowned slightly. After thinking for a moment, he said. “I’m sorry, but if that’s the case, I can’t let you through. Please leave for now, and after reuniting with your teammates, come here. This is a battlefield, not your University or an arena, where it’s safe. There will be casualties if you make a mistake. Our mission here is to ensure that none of you encounter any accidents. After all, the  youth are the future and hope of our Dragon Country.”

Upon hearing this, Lu Fan immediately understood why the other party had stopped him.

The other party truly had only good intentions.

Not allowing those with insufficient strength to rashly enter the battlefield to fight against those Fallen Corpse Puppets was a concern raised within Dragon Country after opening up the Far North as a Levelling Up location.

After all, the official intention in opening this place was to let Players benefit from it, while reducing the pressure on the soldiers.

Dragon Country’s officials definitely did not wish to see Players suffering large-scale casualties here. That would defeat the purpose of opening this place up.

“Um… I think I need to explain.” Lu Fan’s tone was gentle. At the same time, he planned to show his Dragon Country Spark title to let the other party understand that he had the strength to move around Solo in the Far North.

However, just at this moment, a cry of alarm suddenly came from not far away.

Lu Fan and the soldier simultaneously looked towards where the cry came from, and saw a colossal creature rapidly advancing through the Monster Tide, charging towards them.

It was an enormously large Snow Woman. Wherever it went, wind and snow intermixed. It was clearly a Boss skilled in Magic.

But what Level and what Grade it was, because the distance was too far, Lu Fan had yet to determine.

However, just looking at its appearance, one could tell that it was formidable, far stronger than those Monsters here. Thus, it posed a true threat to the outpost here.

The Players who came to the Far North already had an extremely difficult time dealing with ordinary Monsters. If they encountered a Boss here, they would be forced to flee.

They would then need to use the walls to delay the opponent’s offensive, then have Fourth Profession Players come to deal with the Boss.
