Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 833, I Won’t Follow You Anymore

“Kill more Ancient Gods who haven’t awakened, seize their Divine Seats… I understand now.” Lu Fan’s eyes narrowed slightly, his plan already taking shape in his mind.

Slaying Ancient Gods would allow him to Level Up. Simultaneously, it would also fulfil his other objectives.

The Life Force and Experience Points from a single Ancient God were substantial. If he could eliminate all the unawakened Ancient Gods, Lu Fan reckoned he might directly reach his Seventh Profession Change, acquiring the power to contend with fully awakened Ancient Gods on equal footing.

Currently, even though High Tier Ancient Gods like the Fallen Corpse Ancient God had not fully awakened, their power already far surpassed his own.

Therefore, the locations of the two Ancient Gods that had already emerged, the Fallen Corpse and the Holy Mountain, was not the priority. Lu Fan couldn’t seek trouble with them just yet, or he would truly meet his end halfway through his journey.

His targets should remain focused on the other Low Tier and Mid Tier Ancient Gods who had not fully awakened.

Beyond slaying the Ancient Gods, Lu Fan could also seize their Divine Seats and allow others to take their place.

Although this process carried a lot of danger, requiring him to battle against the original Ancient God within the World of Consciousness, Lu Fan could utilise his Spiritual Energy to assist his people in combat against their opponents. Two against one, the odds of success were quite favourable to his side.

With over thirty Divine Seats available, Lu Fan could even grant Divine Seats to his Aunt and the others, ensuring they were Immortal.

However, would they actually desire such a fate?

That question could wait for another time.

Regardless, this Fourth Profession Change had been remarkably fruitful. Not only had Lu Fan successfully become an Abyss Dragon Rider, but he had also acquired a Divine Seat. It was a bountiful harvest indeed.

Since Ouyang Bai Ge still needed to continue her awakening and could not provide much assistance, Lu Fan saw no reason to linger here.

After all, he had many matters requiring his attention.

Simply locating the remaining unawakened Ancient Gods and eliminating them before they fully awakened was already an urgent task. Thus, Lu Fan bid farewell to Ouyang Bai Ge, agreeing that should the Ancient Gods make any moves, they would reconvene to discuss strategies for subjugating them.

Afterwards, Lu Fan departed from Ouyang Bai Ge’s residence and found Ning Shuang’er waiting outside.

Lu Fan informed Ning Shuang’er that Dragon Capital remained safe for now, and she could move about freely.

However, if she still wished to follow him, she would be daydreaming.

Now that Ning Shuang’er had reached Dragon Capital, a secure location, Lu Fan would no longer concern himself with her affairs.

As for her desire to follow him? Heh. With his Skill, Territory Transportation, he could travel to Shadow Isle, Dragon Capital, and the Far North at any moment. If she wished to follow, she could try. She simply wouldn’t be able to keep up.

Who would have expected that Ning Shuang’er would unexpectedly shake her head and say, “I won’t follow you anymore. You’re right. Continuing to follow you won’t lead me anywhere. I seem to never be able to catch up with you. If you’re willing, I might never see you even once in my lifetime. Perhaps in the future, you won’t even remember that there’s a woman in this world called Ning Shuang’er, who, whether out of love or hate, has always wanted to cling to you. So, I won’t pursue you anymore. Instead, I’ll wait for you. You can leave without worry. I won’t seek you out again.”

“If we’re fated; we’ll meet again. I plan to return to the Ning Family, or perhaps explore the Wilderness with Ye Wuxian. I want to develop the Ning Family so that stronger Players could emerge from it.”

“I know this world seems to be facing a calamity. I think, rather than expending my time and energy hindering your efforts to save the world, it would be better if I contributed my own efforts to help you.”

“If by chance I truly die, perhaps at that time, you might feel the slightest trace of sorrow?”

At this point, Ning Shuang’er smiled brilliantly and continued, “If I could truly make you grieve for me, my purpose would be achieved. In any case, you can leave without concern. I won’t trouble you anymore.”

Lu Fan looked at Ning Shuang’er, genuinely struggling to accept the reality that he’d actually rid himself of this troublesome situation.

“You… your brain has actually returned to normal?”

“What do you mean ‘returned to normal’?!” Ning Shuang’er’s delicate thin eyebrows furrowed slightly, clearly dissatisfied with Lu Fan’s phrasing. “If you’re going to speak like that, I will seriously continue following you and giving you endless headaches!”

“No, no, no, you don’t need to!” Lu Fan hastily waved his hands. “I take back what I just said. After all, it’s best that you’ve come to your senses. In that case, do you still need me to escort you to the Western Border?”

Ning Shuang’er shook her head. “No need. I carry a Ning Family Teleportation Scroll with me. I can return directly by tearing it.”

As she spoke, she indeed retrieved a Teleportation Scroll from her Inventory and said, “Then, this is farewell. Perhaps when you have time and return to the Ye Family, you’ll see me there. Just don’t be too surprised when that happens.”

“Heh, as long as you can behave normally, seeing you is fine for me.” Having resolved such a troublesome matter, Lu Fan’s mood improved considerably, and he rarely displayed a pleasant expression towards Ning Shuang’er.

Ning Shuang’er smiled as well and crushed the Teleportation Scroll.

Instantly, a Transport Array took form.

“Then, see you. I hope we’ll have the opportunity to meet again.” After speaking, Ning Shuang’er stepped into the Transport Array and vanished from this place.

Watching this troublesome matter finally resolved, Lu Fan exhaled heavily with relief.

Next, he opened the Transport Array to Shadow Isle and returned to the island.

Using Shadow Isle as a transfer point, Lu Fan could proceed to the Far North to support the frontlines, while also consulting with Tu Jing and Jin Zhan regarding plans to locate unawakened Ancient Gods.

In Lu Fan’s assessment, if anyone was most suitable to possess Divine Seats, it would undoubtedly be Jin Zhan, Tu Jing, and the third of Dragon Country’s Three Elders, Elder Jin.

These three were all major figures of Dragon Country, spiritual leaders who also excelled in combat. Once they obtained Divine Seats, they might possess the power to contend with the Ancient Gods in the future.

Even if, ultimately, some Ancient Gods fully awakened with overwhelming strength, having Jin Zhan and the others also possessing status as Ancient Gods would give Lu Fan peace of mind.

Beyond these individuals, any remaining Divine Seats could be considered for his Aunt and the others.

The girls likely couldn’t provide much assistance in terms of Combat Power, but out of personal sentiment, Lu Fan hoped they could achieve the same eternal life as himself.

The specific arrangements would require further discussion though.

Now, having returned to Shadow Isle, although his next destination was the Far North, he did not immediately continue. Because he was extremely curious about what capabilities his Fourth Profession Change Skill, Enlightened Transformation.
