Chapter 346, The Location of Shadow Isle

In Ye Wuxian’s hand was a stone emitting grey energy.

Calling it a stone was not quite accurate, as it was completely enveloped in grey gas, making it impossible to see what was inside.

After Lu Fan took it, he was both surprised and delighted.

Shadow Isle Essence (Material):
Description: Originating from Shadow Isle, it was originally a precious material called Blessed Light Stone. However, after being contaminated by Shadow Energy, it became Shadow Isle Essence.

To think it was actually the Shadow Isle Essence!

Among the materials for the Shadow Dragon King Contract, the ones that gave Lu Fan the biggest headache were Shadow Isle Essence, Shadow Spring Water, and Shadow Crown. These three items could not be found in any records at Dragon Capital University. Yet now, one appeared right before his eyes!

“This was sent by Andrei!?” Lu Fan exclaimed excitedly while holding the Shadow Isle Essence.

Ye Wuxian nodded with a slight smile, “Yup. According to him, he discovered it in a new area found in Feather Country. The fact that you’re searching for these materials is not a secret. Feather Country surely has spies gathering intelligence in Dragon Country, so it’s not surprising they know you need this material.”

“Just earlier today, Andrei’s Family reached out to me. They’ve sent a photo of an Item Panel via email, and said Andrei wanted to discuss something with you. After seeing the photo, I immediately arranged everything. I helped Andrei with the procedures to enter Dragon Country, and had him come here immediately.”

As she spoke, Ye Wuxian glanced at Andrei, who was feasting at the dining table, and helplessly shook her head.

Andrei’s eating manner made all four Pet Dragons cry out. It was as if they were complaining that this big guy was eating too much, even taking their portions!

“But, it seems like my efforts in getting him here as quickly as possible won’t be useful. He doesn’t even seem interested in discussing business.”

Lu Fan chuckled, saying. “It’s fine, good food is worth waiting for! As long as he can tell me where to find these materials, let him eat first!”

“Auntie, please add two more dishes for Andrei!”

…

Two hours later.

Andrei lay on the sofa, picking his teeth, looking completely satisfied.

Only the four Dragon Babies around Lu Fan were glaring at him.

Especially Bao Bao – if Lu Fan had not held this little one back several times, he definitely would have gone up to teach Andrei a lesson.

The reason the Dragon Babies were so displeased with Andrei was simply because he could eat an incredible amount!

According to Andrei, this was just his Profession Characteristics. As a Warrior Type, he saw it as normal to eat ‘a bit more’?

Lu Fan thought to himself, [That’s not a bit more! If Bao Bao and the others had been slower, they might have ended up as well!]

Regardless, with Andrei and big eaters like Bao Bao, they managed to clear out all the ingredients in the villa.

Now, Lu Fan could finally discuss business with Andrei.

As for Ye Wuxian, Han Ke, and the other girls, they went upstairs to have their own ‘girl talk’, not bothering to stay downstairs.

“Hehe, now that I’m full, I should discuss some real business with Brother Lu.” Andrei grinned, picking his teeth with a toothpick while casually tossing over a bunch of items – they were two more Shadow Isle Essences.

Lu Fan caught them and took out the one Ye Wuxian had given him earlier, quickly asking. “Brother, where exactly did you get these? You must know that I’ve been trying to collect them from around the world, right?”

“Of course I know!” Andrei smiled. “It’s precisely because I know that I came specially from Feather Country to find you!”

“The story behind this Shadow Isle Essence is quite long…”

Andrei explained thoroughly, telling the whole story from beginning to end.

It turned out that a month ago, Andrei’s Family obtained a Mission Scroll.

This Mission Scroll was a rare Epic Grade Mission that would surely provide rich Rewards upon Completion.

The Mission Objective was to go to a place called Shadow Isle and destroy the Shadow Spring Core at its centre.

Such a precious Epic Grade Mission was naturally used by Andrei’s Family to train their younger generation.

As the most outstanding youth in his Family, Andrei naturally successfully gained the qualification to accept the Mission.

After accepting the Mission, Andrei’s Mission Panel showed Shadow Isle’s coordinates and how to get there.

Under the escort of three Fourth Profession Players from his Family, and a full twenty-person team of Third Profession Players, Andrei took a boat to the Shadow Isle, intending to complete the Mission and get the Reward…

However, they encountered difficulties just at the outer area, and had nearly lost one Fourth Profession Player!

It was not that the Monsters on Shadow Isle were particularly High Level, but rather that the terrain was extremely treacherous. It was so dangerous that even Fourth Profession Players could not withstand it.

First, Shadow Isle was completely shrouded in black shadow mist with very low visibility. Even Fire Mage’s Skills could not illuminate through the darkness. Furthermore, once inside, they were basically blind, not even knowing which way to go.

Second, this shadow mist had quite strong Debuff Effects. The longer one stayed in it, the more severely their Attributes would decrease.

Although this Debuff could be cleansed by Priest Skills, as time passed, everyone’s Attributes would still visibly decrease. Even though Andrei’s group had three Third Profession Priests, eventually, their Mana Pool could not keep up with the Cleansing.

Additionally, the Monsters on Shadow Isle had two particularly troublesome traits. They could lurk in the shadow mist, evading detection from Third Profession Archers.

Only the Fourth Profession Archer in their group could sense these Monsters’ presence.

At the same time, they were all Undead Type Monsters, and Ghost Type Monsters.

In other words, almost all Monsters there had a Passive that gave them 70% Damage Reduction against Physical Attacks! Moreover, when they attacked those with Heavy Armour, their attacks had a 30% Piercing Effect.

In other words, these Monsters were all like High Level Assassins, coming and going invisibly. Even Knights with Heavy Armour were fragile before them.

Only Mages could deal significant Damage to them.

Under such harsh conditions, even though Andrei’s group had three Fourth Profession Players, they progressed with great difficulty. After advancing only about ten kilometres in the Shadow Isle’s outer area, they had to retreat.

It was worth mentioning that while the Shadow Isle was difficult, it provided a considerable amount of Experience Points.

The Level 80 Elite Monsters in the outer area already provided Experience Points equivalent to a Level 80 Bronze Grade Boss.

Most importantly, among the materials they dropped, there was something called Shadow Isle Essence!
