World’s Cutest Alchemist

[Entering Floor 2]

[We wish you luck.]

The fresh scent of grass filled the air. Floor’s 2 terrain was no different than floor 1. In fact, that was a common factor for the early floors.

Apparently there’s like a region system or something? At least that’s what the internet said. Floors 1-10 will be in the same location and floors 11-20 will have the same location as well.

Taking in a deep breath of air, I calmed myself and got to my favorite rock—aptly named Rocky.

What can I say? Rocky was extremely reliable and sturdy. Tall too. I bet all the other rocks fan over him.

[Your skin toughens.]

[You feel a little faster.]

[You feel a little stronger.]

[You feel a little more focused.]

[Your perception increases.]

After drinking my buff potions, I held a dynokali potion and waited for the mobs to spawn.

[0:11]

I took a deep breath and stood up. In just 10 more seconds, 10 hideous goblins will be spawning.

Double the number from the first floor.

Ah…I’m nervous.

Even though I know how powerful my explosions are, it’s still scary. 10 creatures charging at me with the intent to kill.

Who wouldn’t be scared?

“Right…Focus.” I nodded.

I watched as the goblins materialized into existence.

Part of me wondered if I could trap their spawn point.

If I use a gluetrap potion to make it so they can’t move, wouldn’t that be so much safer? I could go a step further and make it flammable to easily take them down without even having to use a dynokali potion.

Shaking my head, I temporarily pushed aside those thoughts.

I can think about future plans if I survive this.

Just like on the first floor, these goblins spotted me almost instantly after smelling the air.

Did I stink or something?

They immediately started charging towards me.

“Just have to do the same thing as I did before…” I mumbled, waiting until the got within range.

“Hup!”

The dynokali potion flew through the air in a large arc. A few drops of liquid spilt over the top and onto the grass but the bottle itself maintained most of the liquid as it landed a few feet in front of the group.

I ducked behind Rocky and drew my dagger.

BOOM!

“Haaaaaah.” I let out a deep breath of relief as I looked at the pop-up.

Sheathing my dagger, I took another breath before my face turned to smiles.

“Hehe! I did it!” I shouted, jumping for joy “Once again! I prove! That! I am the! Greatest(cutest)! Alchemist!”

“Wahahaha!”

I was overfilled with confidence. I could challenge the third floor and snag a rank there instantly!

If I didn’t want to gather materials on this floor, I may have just done so.

Honestly, aren’t potions just overpowered?

At this rate, couldn’t I reach the 50th floor with just dynokali potions?

Oh, I bet the awakener gallery is on fire right now.

There all probably like ‘Raccoon did it again!’ or ‘This is the era of alchemists’ or something like that!

“Hehe!”

While I was lost in my delusions, the rewards had finished calculating.

[Rewards have been calculated.]

[You have gained 2 Gold Skill Tokens!]

[Skill Tokens 2/10 (2 Gold)]

[When you collect 10 skill tokens, you receive a random skill related to your class!]

[You have received 2,000 points.]

“Hm…” I looked over my rewards.

The 2,000 points were simply because I cleared the floor. Even on the first floor, I received 1,000 points every clear.

The interesting part was the skill tokens. I read about these when skimming through a starter guide for the tower.

Skill tokens are the main way people can obtain skills; They range from bronze grade tokens all the way to rainbow grade.

They basically change the probability of getting a higher rank skill based on the tier of your tokens.

I don’t know the math behind it, nor does the internet. But put simply, the more higher grade tokens you gather, the better the chance of getting a good skill or trait.

By the way, it goes: Bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond, rainbow.

Well, I can’t be too disappointed with these rewards. It is a bit much to ask for a B-rank skill or trait on every floor.

In fact, this is quite a good reward. Apparently, the usual reward for a first clear on these low floors is a single bronze-grade skill token.

“Haah.” I cracked my knuckles.

The goblin corpses had completely disappeared. Must’ve been blown to kingdom come.

Lucky me, I don’t have to see those hideous things that smell like rot.

I’ll get used to them eventually—just not today.

Or likely the next.

Who even wants to get used to seeing monster corpses?

Sounds disgusting.

On that note, I headed into the familiar forest to search for rare materials.

…

“Hm…” I stared at a mushroom.

[Jango Mushroom]

Rank - C

A deadly mushroom that paralyzes the nervous system when ingested.

I certainly found a rare material. But it was a bit—No, extremely dangerous. I wouldn’t even be able to plant it since I can’t plant other poisonous plants with the giant huffpall.

“…Could I keep it in my fridge?”

The thought of one day eating pancakes and suddenly being unable to move crossed my mind.

“It’d be kind of like a fun surprise, no?”

I decided to just list it on the exchange and get some points from it.

…

After my hour was up, I was back in my bathroom.

I usually enter the tower from here since I always get dirty after climbs.

“Haah~” I stretched my arms and looked at myself in the mirror.

“I’m pretty.” I nodded.

Hm…Today I was feeling a little reluctant to just continue my usual schedule. Did I have anything important to do?

Shower, games, and the gallery?

“Hm…”

Hm……

“Let’s go back in.”

I wasn’t limited to beating one floor a day. I just usually did so.

But, maybe I was still overflowing with energy from my first clear. I felt like using another bomb.

They’re fun! What can I say?

Plus, I’m feeling lucky. Maybe I’ll find a B-rank material!

[Would you like to enter the tower?]

[Y/N]

‘Yes!’

…

I didn’t find a B-rank material.

“Haah~” I sighed, soaking in the bath.

My blonde hair floated in the water beside me.

“…Should I buy a rubber ducky?”

…

After my bath, I tended to the plants and then lounged on my bed.

Before posting to the gallery, I wanted to review it myself first.

The video started by showing a silhouetted version of me standing behind a rock, a dynokali potion in hand.

I threw the potion and it landed a few meters in front of the group. I watched as the monsters ran over the bottle.

The bottle, now in the center of the group, got kicked over.

Then, the explosion happened.

You could see my silhouette holding a dagger and waiting behind the rock.

“Hm…I don’t think I did anything wrong this time?”

I didn’t cover my ears and I didn’t fall to the ground. I waited patiently for the explosion to go off, and if by chance they survived, I was ready to make another move.

So, I posted to the gallery.

“Hehe!” I giggled, rolling around on my bed.

I knew it! I really did look reliable this time!

I wonder what the awakener gallery is saying?

[This is the era of alchemists!]

[Raccoon cleared Floor 2!]

[Raccoon’s Floor 2 Breakdown]

[Looks like Raccoon improved the explosive?]

[Government: Those explosives could be extremely dangerous… Raccoon: Hm? Make it better? Okay.]

[What skills does Raccoon have?]

“Heh…”

As expected, I caused another wave. It’s a little weird seeing a meme about me and explosives, but they’re funny so I’ll allow it.

Speaking of which, could I even make dynokali potions better?

If I added some toxins into the recipe, could I create a toxic bomb?

Hm…Seem’s a little too dangerous to attempt right now.

I’ll put that on the back burner.

Which reminds me, could I make my clears safer and more efficient?

I briefly thought of some methods before the floor started, but the idea of using a gluetrap potion sounded amazing.

Even if I couldn’t trap their spawn point, I could at least trap the area around me, making it so they can’t reach me even if they survive the explosion.

Or…I could even add different effects to it. If I added deadly poison to the gluetrap, would they die just like that? Or what if I make it flammable? I can just toss a match into the substance and save some potions.

What if I make a potion that can lure them into a specific spot that’s trapped?

Hm…I think my mind and heart has already become one of an alchemist’s.

I really wanted to brew a gluetrap potion. Even though I’d usually relax after a clearing a floor, I jumped up and headed to the kitchen.

…

The gluetrap potion is one of two potions I hadn’t made from CauldronBro’s list. I hadn’t felt the need to create a debuff or environmental potion.

Plus, one of the ingredients is slime mucus which I was reluctant to use. But, I’m impulsive and really wanted to create a gluetrap potion. Modifying it would come later, for now, I just wanted to have it.

So, I purchased the materials from the exchange.

“Hm…So this is slime mucus.”

It didn’t exactly feel sticky. Rather, it felt…Slimy. Like lubricant.

It felt icky to the touch. I quickly washed my hands.

“Right, first step…Melt the pine tree resin over high heat.

Then, slowly stir in wood ash.

Add a bit of water to help the consistency and then add in slime mucus.

A little bit of powdered charcoal and a touch of beeswax.

Finally, add denomyl liquid as a reagent and store it in a bottle, then you’re done.”

[Gluetrap Potion]

Grade - D

Creator: Raccoon

A substance that becomes extremely sticky when exposed to air.

“Oh?” I looked at the finished product with interest.

I had made a D grade potion without even aiming for it. I wonder how much the effects of a potion attribute to the grade.

And how sticky is ‘extremely sticky’?

Opening the cap, I poured a small pool of the liquid onto the counter.

I waited for a bit then stuck my finger in the middle.

“…”

“Hnnng!”

“Gaaah! Get off!”

“Hnnnnnnng!”

“Paah!”

I took several deep breaths, staring at my stuck finger.

“…This is my life now.”

Well, I definitely confirmed the stickiness.

[Heyyyyy~]

Let’s hypothetically say, someone gets their finger stuck in the gluetrap potion CauldronBro posted a few weeks ago…

How would that person get unstuck?

This is hypothetical.

→ [SlimeLube: Slime! Slime! Slime!]

↳ [BinLover: Yes, that may or may not have been involved in the creation of the potion. But hypothetically, how would they get unstuck?]

↳ [SlimeLube: Slime!]

↳ [BinLover: …Can you answer?]

↳ [SlimeLube: Slime!]

↳ [BinLover: Haah…]

↳ [CauldronBro: It’s um…If you rub slime mucus around the area, you’ll get unstuck pretty fast. Otherwise, just wait. After being deprived of oxygen for a while, the substance loses its stickiness.]

↳ [BinLover: …It’s actually slime?]

↳ [SlimeLube: Woo! Slime!]

→ [Love Fusion Mix Hands: Cutie got stuck in the gluetrap!]

↳ [BinLover: It was hypothetical.]

→ [Juxtaps: lolololol]

↳ [BinLover: Why are you laughing? This is a hypothetical scenario.]
