“I’m rich! I’m rich!” I giggled happily, looking at my status screen.

“And, I’m famous!”

My clear video had gotten close to 40,000 views and netted me over 27,000 followers! I must be considered a talent to keep an eye on.

Or, someone they’re trying to figure out the identity of…

Hm, well, I like the first one better, so let’s go with that!

“Hehe.”

My potions had sold out extremely quick.

At this rate, couldn’t I just sell one potion for an absurd amount? Like, if I sold a ironskin potion for 1,000,000 would someone buy it?

I was curious, but I’d rather not. It goes against my principles.

…Do I have principles? Hm…It goes against my imaginary principles that I’m arbitrarily creating.

Anyway, this really was like an infinite money glitch.

Buy materials > make potions > profit.

“Ah…Today is a good day.”

…

[ElectricTypeMouse: lolololol]

[BinLover: this game sucks!!!!]

…

Yesterday sucked.

“Haah…” I sighed as I looked at my kitchen.

Random chemistry equipment was laid out on the counter; A pot and pan constantly stayed on the stove; Empty bottles and vials scattered all over the place…Yeah, I had definitely become a little messy.

But! It’s like an organized mess! Everything is in it’s proper place and set up for efficiency!

…Yeah, I guess that excuse won’t work.

But I really didn’t have much space to work with. I only lived in a small apartment after all.

Even when I go to check my gardening room, I’m brushing past all sorts of plants. They had grown so much that it looked like a jungle in there.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t move just yet.

One, I had to wait for my lease to finish, and that’s in a few months.

Two, even though I’m making good money now, I still don’t have enough for what I want.

When I move, I want a proper alchemy lab. Well ventilated and equipped with anything I could need.

And a place for my plants and herbs. A greenhouse would be nice, but I’d likely have that built after I’ve purchased the house.

Also! A big bedroom and bathroom.

And…

Hm…Am I looking for too much?

No, if I’m setting a goal, I should aim for the stars. Plus, it’s a nice motivation boost.

Well, I’ll just deal with my crappy little apartment for now.

“Haah…” I sighed and got to cleaning.

…

“Wow! It looks so much better!” I audibly said with a smile, wiping off my sweat.

Everything was neatly organized and easy to access. I even had space on my counter to cook proper meals!

No more microwaved food or delivery!

Yay!

To reward myself, I decided to cook chocolate chip pancakes.

…

In the afternoon, I got dressed in my tower climbing outfit. It was time to do what I’ve been holding off on.

Repeating the first floor.

You can clear a floor 10 times before being forced to the next floor by the tower. Since I’ve already cleared it once, I had 9 more clears to do.

Since you only receive the reward for clearing a floor once, unless you were aiming for materials, most people just went to the next floor after their first clear.

But I, the greatest (cutest) alchemist, needed materials. Purchasing them from the exchange was always an option, but I’d get practical skills and save money by starting to collect my own early. Plus, if there’s a material I need that’s not on the exchange and I mess up gathering it myself, that’d be awful.

It’s all just future planning!

I nodded to myself as I attached my leg pouch.

Unlike the first time I entered the tower, I wasn’t scared or anxious. I had already seen just what my dynokali potions could do.

If anything, they should be scared of me!

“Rawr!” I looked in the mirror and struck a fierce pose.

“Hehe…” I giggled to myself before grabbing a backpack.

“All ready.”

My goal was to collect as much uncommon or rare materials as I could get.

[Would you like to enter the tower?]

[Y/N]

[Current Floor: 1]

‘Yes’

[Entering Floor 1]

[We wish you luck.]

In the blink of an eye, I was back on the open plains.

I enjoyed the wind dancing across my skin as I looked for a reliable boulder. Found one—The same one I ducked behind before.

All that was left was to wait.

But…

I looked at my shaking hands.

I guess I’m not as fearless as I thought.

…

BOOM!

[Floor Cleared!]

[Time Taken: 0:14]

[You have already cleared this floor and are not eligible for a reward.]

“It’s still so amazing! Hehe!”

Standing up, I looked at where the explosion occurred.

To my surprise, the goblins corpses hadn’t disappeared this time. Though, some of them were missing a few body parts.

“Is it because I used less?”

Unlike the first time where I threw the whole bottle of liquid, I only used around half the bottle this time.

I looked away from the corpses.

I didn’t feel sick to my stomach from seeing them, but they were just gross to look at. A slight part of me wanted to force myself to get used to it, since some potion recipes required monster materials to create, but I just couldn’t do it.

“Yeah…I’ll just adjust slowly.”

After a sigh, I headed into the forest.

…

Unfortunately, I didn’t find another huffpall, but I did find some other herbs and mushrooms.

All of which either sat planted in my gardening room or was stored in the fridge.

…It was the cheapest preservation method I had.

Anyway, I purchased some more materials to make another 38 concentration potions. I was aiming for that [Sweet Concentration Potion] I had made.

Cracking my fingers, I got to work.

…

[Sweet Concentration Potion]

Grade - D

Creator: Raccoon

A sweet tasting potion that increased your concentration and focus.

* Lasts for 20 minutes.

“Wa….Wahahahah!” I heartily laughed.

It worked!

It really worked!

I can consistently make D grade potions!

There wasn’t a word I could use to describe the mix of emotions I felt; Joy, happiness, satisfaction, pleasure, it was an amalgamation of feelings.

Though only a modified recipe, I felt as if I had taken another step in the world of alchemy.

I couldn’t stop myself and immediately posted to the gallery.

[Modified my first recipe!!!]

Author: BinLover

Over the past few days I’ve been working on trying to modify the ‘crude concentration potion’ recipe that CauldronBro posted. And today, I’ve finally confirmed that I’ve made it better! (according to my world’s system’s standards, the one CauldronBro posted is considered Rank E and mine is considered Rank D)

It feels so satisfying and rewarding! All my effort was worth it!

I really feel like a true alchemist!

Here’s the recipe:

(Omitted)

Ah! Don’t tell me what I can do better or how to make it more efficient! Just tell me I did a good job! I’ll slowly work on optimizing it and figuring that out over time!

→ [✪Potions Are Easy: Congratulations! Modifying a recipe may not look hard, but it’s definitely difficult! You’ve taken your first step on the journey to becoming an alchemist!]

→ [Love Fusion Mix Hands: Good job, my cutie! I feel so proud!]

→ [ObsidianTier: Congrats.]

→ [Meditation Is Medicine: Good work, now, may I introduce you to mediation?]

→ [SlimeLube: Awesome! Honey is the first step to using slime, I’m glad you’ve finally come around!]

↳ [BinLover: ?]

→ [CauldronBro: Nice job! I understand why you added those materials and what effects you were looking for, keep it up!]

→ [EfficiencyLord: Hm…I see you were going for less duration and more concentration. I won’t say anything about the recipe but good work.]

↳ [BinLover: This feels a little…]

→ [HomunculusTheBest: You did a good job! Now, imagine if you had homunculus to congratulate you too, wouldn’t that feel even more amazing?]

→ [Juxtaps: Good job! I’m looking forward to seeing the day you create your own recipe.]

I smiled happily looking at the congratulatory comments from my alchemy friends. After a while I thought back to what that stingy efficiency mister said.

“Went for more concentration and less duration?”

Thinking back to the materials I used, it was true that the tyulo herb I added was more like a short boost to focus rather than a long one.

“Should I add something that lengthens the duration…?”

I started pondering different materials that I could add to increase the potion’s quality but shook my head after a short while.

“No, no, I should focus on perfecting this recipe for now.”

Rather than continuing to change the recipe by adding more materials, I felt it was better to focus on perfecting what was already there.

So, it was back to experimenting. This time, I wanted to see if I could still achieve D grade without using my skill at all.

…

Surprisingly, I could. Now, did that mean that my skill had no effect on the outcome quality of the potion? I didn’t know.

But, even with that new info, I’d still use my skill when creating potions. Might as well use something if you have it, no?

The next goal was to cut the quantity of materials used.

…

“Hm…This is hard.”

To cut a long story short, I had no clue if it was working or not.

Sometimes the potions would come out as D grade and other times they’d be E+ grade with the only noticeable difference being the duration.

It was really inconvenient not having a skill that told me the specifics of the potion.

There was a machine that could tell me, but that was extremely out of my budget.

Sighing, I figured I wouldn’t be able to optimize this recipe just yet.

Oh well, as long as it’s D grade, I can sell it for a decent amount.

Yawning, I headed to my computer.

…

[BinLover: Mouse, I might just be the greatest alchemist to ever live.]

[ElectricTypeMouse: ???]

…

Over the next two weeks, I continued making potions and entering the first floor. I wasn’t just making concentration potions, rather, I made and sold batches of the buff potions I used.

Thanks to that, my point balance was looking extremely healthy.

My name on the awakener gallery still occasionally came up, but the hype had mostly died down.

Well, for now. I was planning to cause another ruckus by challenging the second floor.

From the clear videos I found out that the only difference between the first floor and second was the amount of goblins—There’d be ten hideous, green, monsters instead of five.

My clear strategy wouldn’t change.

Just toss a dynokali potion at them and be done with it.

Wow, explosions really are overpowered.

I wasn’t worried. Though some anxiety still remained from challenging the tower, my ten floor one clears had driven most of it away.

The little that remained was something that’d likely never go away.

The day before I’d challenge the second floor I was playing Shadows of Freest with Mouse.

[BinLover: oh yeah, I’m going to floor 2 tomorrow.]

[ElectricTypeMouse: Really? Stay safe and good luck!]

[BinLover: tyty.]

[BinLover: Ah…Mouse.]

[ElectricTypeMouse: ?]

[BinLover: I have something to confess to you…Ah, never mind, I’ll tell you after the battle.]

[ElectricTypeMouse: ???]

[ElectricTypeMouse: This bastard’s setting death flags???]

[BinLover: lololol]

…

A silver-haired girl sat at her computer constantly tapping the desk with her pointer finger.

Even though the ‘You Died’ message just appeared on screen, she wasn’t paying attention to it.

In fact, the whole day today she had been distracted because of what her friend said yesterday.

Bin, a new awakener and a production class alchemist. But before that, they were simply a friend who played games with her for years.

Despite it only being the second floor, she couldn’t help but worry. Bin was an alchemist, not someone who could fight.

But there was nothing she could do but wait.

“That idiot even set death flags for himself…” She mumbled, “Haah, I hope his party clears the floor fast.”

And so, the silver-haired girl continued to clear the dungeon with a distracted mind.
