Chapter 1633: Chapter 564: Steel Throne (Part 3)

”This...” The other’s words left Trena hesitating.

It must be said, there was some truth in what the other said.

...

Floating City.

Negative fourth floor, main power and transmission area.

”It’s truly an exquisite design.” Og and Otto did not think much of it, but as a member of the Federation Mechanical Research Institute, Haleem, an expert in mechanical constructs, could naturally see the ingenious aspects of it.

With a gaze of reverence as if beholding a miracle, he widened his eyes, scanning the massive square device inch by inch, and exclaimed.

”Crown Rein, this should be the anti-gravity device, right?”

”Yes, it’s a constant anti-gravity device constructed using Metal Series Witchcraft. When fully activated, it can almost make the entire Floating City as light as air.” Rein looked at the dark golden square device before him and nodded.

The object in front looked like a monochromatic Rubik’s Cube, yet it possessed the power comparable to a Divine. This was the pinnacle of goblin technology from tens of thousands of years ago.

”These are the four main thrusters.”

”Here is the main control console.”

”Weapon control console...”

”Puppet control room...”

The group walked along as Haleem, fluent in Ancient Goblin Language and having studied some fragmented information on Floating City beforehand, enumerated the functions of each device and equipment like the back of his hand.

”Lord Haleem, from here on it’s up to you.” Rein smiled slightly and said.

”Of course, Steel Throne, please rest assured, I have conducted some research on Floating City. Although I dare not claim to know it inside out, repairing it won’t be a problem, leave it to me.”

Haleem patted his chest and assured.

”Alright, Haleem, then this matter is entrusted to you. The main thing is to quickly activate the anti-gravity device and repair the four main thrusters.” Rein nodded with a smile and said.

”I want to go to the bottom floor and have a look, you guys...” Rein said while looking at Og and Otto.

”We won’t be going, Steel Throne,” the two exchanged glances and shook their heads together.

What if the Fiend Demon awakens again?

They would be done for.

Even the aftershocks of the battle would be unimaginable for them to withstand.

”Very well.” Rein nodded; he understood their concerns, which was quite normal.

Furthermore, now restoring and activating Floating City was one of the most important things, assisting Haleem here would also speed up the progress.

...

Soon, Rein arrived at the negative fifth floor, which was also the bottom floor of Floating City.

Due to the design of Floating City, resembling an egg sliced in half, the lower one went, the smaller the area became.

When Rein reached the final floor, he unexpectedly discovered that it resembled an elven garden, thinking it should have been where the Goblin Palace originally stood.

However, after tens of thousands of years, most of the flowers and plants had withered and shriveled, and what remained had been tainted by Evil Qi, turning into something bizarre, entirely black-gray, emitting thin wisps of black gas, and covered in sharp thorns.

At this moment, only the dilapidated fountain, incomplete marble statues, and broken flower beds seemed to tell of the past splendor.

Rein looked around and focused his gaze straight ahead, on that broken palace, which should be the place where the Fiend Demon resided. He could feel a massive and evil force entrenched within.

Although Goblin Princess Amora Gren claimed that she had restrained the Fiend Demon again, Rein did not wish to place such an important matter in the hands of others.

It’s always reassuring to see it for himself.

Additionally, there was another reason—Rein wanted to search for clues on a way to completely resolve the Fiend Demon or the true Key of Time that Amora mentioned.
