Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys

Chapter 390 – 198 The Prerequisites for Flame Walker (Legendary) (Double Chapter)_3

“The four major elements?” Rein asked, puzzled.

“Yes, the fire, water, earth, and air elements that predominantly characterize the wizarding schools. They correspond to the four most common elemental affinities,” she explained.

Rein nodded in understanding.

It seemed the reason why these four elemental affinities were so common among humans was that they had been passed down from ancient times, and the number of schools related to them was the greatest.

Rare categories, like metal magic, struggled to survive wars and other calamities, and many had been lost to the annals of history.

“So, there’s not a single school for metal magic now?” Rein still couldn’t let it go and questioned further.

“Unfortunately, Lord Rein, as far as my experience goes, I haven’t heard of any schools that focus on metal witchcraft. Of course, it’s possible that my experience is simply insufficient,” Naya said, shaking her head.

“But indeed, with your rare metal affinity, joining a fire-based wizarding school would seem unsatisfying. Perhaps you could look into some of the empire’s powerful departments.”

“With your Knight talent, I think joining one of those special departments should not be difficult.”

“The empire has them too?”

“Certainly. Some of the empire’s special departments have collected a number of witchcraft models beyond your imagination, far exceeding that of ordinary wizarding schools.”

“They even have some incredibly rare witchcraft models, so I believe that if Lord Rein could join these departments, you would surely find models for metal witchcraft,” Naya quickly replied.

This was somewhat beyond Rein’s expectations.

But it was actually a good thing.

He no longer needed to search for any wizarding schools.

Since the special departments in the empire had a richer collection of witchcraft models than the schools, once he passed the Sword Bearer’s exam in a little over a month, he would essentially have a way to access them.

Rein pondered rapidly in his mind.

“By the way, Lord Rein, regarding the selection of witchcraft models when being promoted to an official Wizard, although we are a family of Magicians and thus have no issues with selection, I’ve heard a visiting wizard elder briefly touch on the topic,” she mentioned.

“It seems that innate wizardry and the later development of a Wizard are somewhat related, but I’m not very clear on these connections. Hence, Lord Rein may need to seek further clarification from someone else,” she added after a pause.

Hmm? It’s related to later development directions too?

Rein’s expression became contemplative.

It looked like he needed to seek advice from more experienced individuals to answer this question.

“Thank you very much for answering my questions, Miss Naya,” Rein said, turning to Naya with a smile.

“So, does that mean that as soon as the issue with a level-one defensive witchcraft model is resolved, one can be promoted to an official Wizard?” Rein continued to inquire.

“It’s not that simple, which brings me to the second key point I haven’t mentioned. When being promoted to an official Wizard, one must use an important potion, the mist coagulant.”

“Mist coagulant?” Rein encountered yet another gap in his knowledge.

“That’s right, the recipe for this mist coagulant is monopolized by the empire and all major wizarding schools, and it’s almost impossible for it to be found on the open market,” Naya explained.

“If you can get the mist coagulant, coupled with the level-one defensive witchcraft model mentioned earlier, you have the chance to strike for an official Wizard ranking.”

“Take the wizard elder who is friends with my father, for example. He used the fire-element level-one defensive witchcraft ’Flame Protection’ as his solidification model for promotion, combined with a supreme fire element affinity, successfully stepping into the realm of official wizards.”

At that moment, Rein was suddenly taken aback. He keenly noticed that the system prompt had appeared:

[Ding! The host has heard a wizard’s secret and triggered the profession change—Flame Walker (Legendary)!]

[Conditions for advancing to Flame Walker (Legendary) are as follows: 1, Wizard qualification (fire element affinity over 75); 2, Spirit of 30 points or more; 3, Basic meditation law will rune (24/24); 4, Mastery over the fire-element level-one witchcraft ’Flame Protection’; 5, Mist coagulant… Current conditions not met, upgrade to Flame Walker (Legendary) failed!]

…

In the afternoon.

After returning home, Rein went to the study alone and began to contemplate.

He had learned quite a bit today, so after listening to Naya’s introduction to Wizardry, Rein chose not to stay any longer.

“Clearly, to meet the conditions for advancing to an official Wizard, whether it is the defensive level-one witchcraft model or the crucially important mist coagulant, it’s highly unlikely to obtain them before joining a special department like Sword Bearer,” he reasoned.

“In the short term, my focus should still be on the transformation into a Weapon Master (Legendary).”

“Being of ’Legendary’ tier as well, Weapon Master will certainly bring some surprises to myself.”

“It looks like I need to work on improving my Kadar Martial Arts.”

“However, if I want to quickly enhance Kadar Martial Arts from lv4 to lv10, it seems impractical to allocate all my points to it.”

“Bringing martial arts skill to lv5 or lv6 before using skill points is already the limit.”

“Currently, I have one remaining skill point. With that crate of ice iron ingots auctioned before, I’ll likely be able to increase my Armorer’s profession level by one, totaling two remaining skill points.”

“Knight (Transcendent) should also have a chance to be upgraded again soon, which would mean three remaining skill points.”
