Chapter 368 – 193: The Power of Master-Level Combat Skill (Two in One Mega Chapter)_3

Feeling a bit itchy in his hands, Rein immediately tried out the new special effect. He swung the Glimmering Greatsword and aimed at the light blue ice iron shoulder guard, cleaving it with one stroke.

“Zizz!”

The ice iron shoulder guard, forged from a rare ore, was split open by a single slash!

Tsk, tsk, such power—it must be the combined effect of slashing through steel and armor piercing. Even armors made from special ores were cut open with one slash.

However, Rein vaguely felt that the attacking power of the Two-Handed Warhammer was still higher than the greatsword’s.

After a moment of thought, Rein began to understand—it might be due to the lv3 specialization in hammers because both the effects of ’Multiple Shocks’ and ’Steel Cutting’ were linked to the level of mastery.

Moreover, regarding the terms ’heavy weapons’ and ’sharp weapons’ expressed by the system, Rein felt that he was gradually lifting the veil of mystery surrounding the special profession of a Weapon Master (Legendary).

He had a faint understanding of what the core skills or rather, the professional traits of this legendary profession might be.

After thinking about it, Rein found another interesting point.

Generally speaking, to reach master-level proficiency in any weapon, even if one had considerable talent, it would require two to three decades of hard work. In terms of difficulty, it’s no less challenging than a knight’s promotion to a Great Knight, perhaps even harder.

But now, both Rein’s greatsword and Two-Handed Warhammer had reached master-level proficiency; converted, it was equivalent to a knight with innate talent for swords and hammers practicing hard for five to six decades.

What a hack, it was truly terrifying!

Moreover, the combat power of this ’Almost Weapon Master’ was even stronger than Rein had anticipated.

If he were to face Giovanni again in his transformed state with strength comparable to a Great Knight, Rein felt that the opponent would not be able to withstand three, maybe even one warhammer blow from him before being knocked to the ground!

As for Norman?

Rein was actually quite looking forward to his promotion to a Great Knight.

Otherwise…

The duel would seem too boring…

Baron Norman’s manor.

At this moment, all the guards in the manor were fully armed and highly alert around the villa.

And Dennis was anxiously pacing back and forth in front of the indoor training room.

Just now, his father, Baron Norman, had decided to take a high-level magic potion, ’Essence of the Beast,’ to break through to the Great Knight!

Before this, Dennis’s mood was like a roller coaster, fluctuating wildly.

A few days ago, when his father successfully recovered his peak strength, Dennis was so excited that he couldn’t sleep for several nights in a row. He thought that his father’s chances of killing Rein in the bloody duel were almost certain.

But he hadn’t expected that things would take a turn for the worse so quickly. It was said Rein’s strength was improving rapidly, and that his father at his peak might not be able to defeat Rein. Even the odds were at most forty-sixty, with his father holding the weaker four.

This news struck Dennis like a bolt from the blue!

He couldn’t imagine— if his father, Baron Norman, were to lose in the bloody duel, what a tragic and pitiful fate awaited him and his family.

Because his strength was only at the level of an almost-knight, not even a true knight, and he certainly didn’t have the ability to support a baron’s family.

And among nobles, apart from intermarriage, relationships were maintained mostly through strength. If the strength was inadequate, interests had to be conceded, which inevitably meant the decline of the Norman family, and to make matters worse, they had numerous enemies…

“Clack!”

The doors of the training room opened!

A spirited Baron Norman stepped out with big strides!

“Father, did you succeed?” Seeing this scene, Dennis couldn’t help blurting out the question.

The baron smiled slightly and nodded!

“That’s great! Father, you’ve finally become a Great Knight!” Seeing this, Dennis was overcome with joy and began to murmur to himself.

It seemed that Lady Luck was still on their side, still standing with the Norman family!

Rein! You’re doomed!

Dennis shouted in his heart.

He wished the bloody duel could start right now.

Unfortunately, they had to wait until the day after tomorrow!

“You there, come!” Baron Norman gestured to several of his trusted subordinates.

Curious, Dennis and a few others followed Norman to the interior training ground.

“Take the bow and shoot arrows at me!” Baron Norman crossed his arms behind his back, assuming a stance of facing the enemy empty-handed.

Several of the lieutenants were startled and exchanged glances, not sure whether to carry out the order or to refuse, because at that moment Baron Norman wasn’t wearing any armor, just wearing noble hunting attire with no protection at all.

Dennis immediately guessed that his father wanted to test the combat power at the Great Knight level, so he quickly urged, “Don’t worry, with Father’s speed, you won’t be able to hit him even if you try.”

“As you command, young master!”

“Baron, please be careful!”

Several lieutenants with almost-knight strength understood and immediately took up strong bows and aimed at Baron Norman, beginning to shoot.

“Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!”

To their astonishment, the arrows, shot with almost full force, seemed to be blocked by an invisible shield in front of Baron Norman. After their inertia dissipated, the arrows fell powerlessly to the ground.

Dennis was getting more and more excited watching!

Look, this is a Great Knight, a Great Knight!

The defense of pure original force could nearly make the Great Knight unbeatable against lower-level enemies!

This time, victory was assured!
