Chapter 363 – 192: Rapid Improvement (Double Chapter Combined)_2

You should know that advancing magic potions have quite a few intricacies.

Upon hearing this question, Hamilton smiled and said,

“That’s a good question. Actually, even before the emergence of high-tier magic potions like the Behemoth Essence, it was not impossible to advance from a knight to a Great Knight, just extremely rare, almost one in a hundred!”

“If one forcibly breaks through and fails, the consequences are either death or severe injury.”

“However, with the aid of high-tier magic potions like the Behemoth Essence, the success rate has increased significantly, almost to one in ten, and the side effects of a failed breakthrough have relatively reduced a lot.”

“In this aspect, the Behemoth Essence is different from other advancing magic potions; as a high-tier magic potion, its primary function is to provide your body with enough energy for higher-level evolution.”

“The essence of the second evolution is to strengthen your existing transcendent traits and gradually root them in your bloodline. This process does not create new transcendent traits.”

Rein suddenly understood. That’s why the magic potions for officially advancing to knight were so precious!

“So, to assess the quality of a Behemoth Essence, the main criteria is the amount of special evolutionary substance it contains, right?” Rein thought for a moment and then concluded.

Hamilton looked at Rein with approval and said, “Exactly! But the more powerful the behemoth, the more evolutionary substance can be extracted from its heart.”

“However, in reality, Rein, the most critical or the most difficult part of advancing to a Great Knight lies in the control over one’s own body with a transcendent will; otherwise, promotion is bound to fail.”

Rein nodded in agreement.

Then, he remembered that whether he was advancing to a Great Knight or a Weapon Master, the system’s description for Behemoth Essence was not specific—it just needed to be available.

That means, as long as he has the Behemoth Essence, he can inevitably advance to a Great Knight, regardless of the quality of the Behemoth Essence.

This is truly the greatest benefit!

Having it equals success!

“My lord, there’s something I need to ask your help with contacting Colonel Connor. I have a beast heart here and would like to request the military or the masters from the Royal Alchemist Association to help me craft a bottle of Behemoth Essence.”

As Rein spoke, he handed the box containing the behemoth heart from a nearshore Plesiosaur to Hamilton.

“Hmm? You have a behemoth heart?” Hamilton showed a surprised expression again, but quickly regained his composure, as it was not surprising Rein had obtained one since he had even killed Giovanni.

“Yes, I acquired one during my recent visit to Rossby County.” Rein said with a smile.

“Good! I’ll contact Connor as soon as possible.” Hamilton quickly agreed without hesitation.

…

Just about to leave, Hamilton suddenly stopped, turned around, and said, “Rein, there’s one thing… never mind, I’ll tell you after your duel.”

—————–

Meanwhile.

In a lavish mansion in Meist County City, within a dim underground hall.

Black Flame Priest Maral, sweating profusely, reported, “High Priest, it’s bad news. Lord Giovanni’s mission has failed, and he was killed on the spot by Rein!”

“What, Giovanni is dead?” The fat high priest suddenly stood up from his large chair and immediately asked back.

“Yes, my lord!” Maral answered with his head bowed.

This was the first time he had seen such a loss of composure from the high priest, who began pacing slowly in the underground hall while muttering,

“How could this be possible? With Giovanni’s speed… even if he couldn’t win, he should have been able to escape smoothly!”

“High Priest, there is another piece of news…” Maral’s face soured as he spoke, knowing revealing it might further infuriate the high priest, but he still chose to say it.

“Hmm?” The high priest stopped and looked at Maral suspiciously, as if questioning, ’Could there be worse news than Giovanni’s death?’

“Umm… after killing Lord Giovanni, Rein sent his corpse directly to the temple of the Goddess of Monsoons and Oceans…” Maral’s voice trailed off more lightly.

Because the high priest’s pale face suddenly flushed.

Maral knew this was not a good sign; it was an indication of the high priest’s extreme anger!

“Boom!”

The high priest, with a ferocious look, extended his dry, thin arms and blasted a large clump of black flame onto the floor of the underground hall, creating a large hole.

“Damn”

“This Rein, I must have him killed!!”

This black flame blast was so powerful, several times stronger than that of ordinary Black Flame Priests, it so frightened Maral that he almost jumped, worried that the high priest might vent his anger on him. Maral quickly said:

“High Priest, perhaps we won’t need to act ourselves to achieve the goal of killing Rein.”

“Because there’s a rumor bubbling among the nobility of Meist County that Baron Norman is set to have a bloody duel with Rein next Sunday at the county’s dueling ground.”

“Oh? Is that so?” Experience exclusive tales on m

“Yes, my lord.” Maral wiped the sweat from his forehead, relieved to see the high priest’s mood had improved.

“Is that the retired imperial naval officer Norman?” It seemed he was recalling something; the high priest continued to inquire.

“Exactly, that’s him.”
